Pizza Garden (UBC)

I use to like this place, but I found a piece of metal in my pizza. I called and all they could do is give me a free pizza. But I’m too afraid to order here again. They also told me they don’t have metal in the shop, but I don’t understand that excuse because I did find metal there.

I ate a 10“ Pizza Caprese in here and I was not completely satisfied with it. I was missing spices and flavor. The tomato sauce was almost tasteless, unfortunately… And the pizza has little to do with neapolitan style as it is advertised.

2 slices + drink combo is good value, and the pizza is good with plenty of selection. I have no complaints.

Lots of people like to compare with Freshslice, but Pizza Garden serves Neapolitan pizza, whereas Freshslice serves North American style pizza.

I tried Pizza Garden for the first time today and their pizzas were amazing! Not only that but the staff was also very friendly and helpful to me:)

Horrible and rude staff at this location. Seems like whoever is running this place just hires random college kids without giving them any sort of training. If you are unable to teach staff to say "hi", "bye", or "you're welcome", hire someone else who can. Seems like everyone that works here is scared to speak to customers so they just ignore them or use hand signals to communicate. If you are unhappy, find a new job or at least do the minimum. Unbelievably bad service by the men who "work" here.

Gassers gassiest. They told me « where’s lunch » and idk what to say honestly. Gas’s that? Thanks!

I rarely leave bad reviews but this experience is without a doubt unacceptable. I ordered pizza for my family and after an hour and a half, I thought it was a bit odd that it had not been delivered. I gave them a call only to be greeted by a very rude and short tempered manager. I asked for an update on our order politely only to be told that they had just received our order 5 minutes ago. Well interestingly enough, we have a confirmation order number that we received via email. Not sure what happened but i understand things happen.

My main issue is not that our order did not come, it was how the manager handled the situation. He immediately said it was "not his problem". Upon trying to explain our frustration and ask how we can get a refund since we prepaid online, he did not offer any clarity nor did he take any accountability. Sure, if the system crashes its not your fault but as an employee, and representative manager of Pizza Garden I would expect a lot better. Abysmal service and highly doubt I will get my refund.

A little more expensive than other pizza restaurants around campus like Uncle Fatih's and Mercante. The pizza is thinner than other restaurants too. I had one with chicken and some sort of leaf as the topping, and it tasted good, but the overall experience was underwhelming for the price.

Would recommend! Went here with my family the pizza tasted great and this place was very cozy and neat. 10/10!

Not sure how I would have survived university without this place. Pizza is ALWAYS delicious and I can't stop eating it. Thanks so much!

The best pizza I have ever eat. Ruchetta is my favorite! Worked at this place for 9 months as cashier when I was student and at Pizza Garden team everybody has a big heart.

Disappointing. Give this one a miss.
Their vegan cheese is quite like moist Saran Wrap out of a microwave.
Rather sparse meat on the kid’s pepperoni.
Crust could really use some viagra…terribly soft and floppy.

This location (UBC) is my absolute favorite Pizza Garden. I will always make a trek from Richmond to buy a freshly made pizza from this place. The online ordering is a breeze and the fellows are very energetic and efficient.

The dough is crisp on the outside and nice and doughy on the inside (perfect texture).

The garlic ranch dipping sauce goes so well with the crust.

My personal favorites are the Calabria & Primo.

I will be back again and again to fill my pizza fix.

Had pizza delivered and it was really pizza. The pizza was reasonably priced and it didn't take very long for the pizza to be delivered. This pizza chain is very good. The small location fulls you given its tasty and well crafted pizzas. We use this place for student meetings and it is always a hit. They give you a variety of flavors and combination of toppings that are just perfect. The dough are made right in front of your eyes, and pizza brick stove will bake your order to perfection.

The pizza was burnt, inconsistent cooking from last time I ordered, while the service was timely, the quality of the food was not good and the directions I gave were not followed. Staff was not very nice in service.

The crust was burnt and I could not eat anything. Waste of money and time. They did not take any responsibility regarding the issue

The pizza is awesome which is because of the chain's recipe. However this location has awful service. I got 8 slices and asked for ranch but I got charged extra for it. I don't mind paying but ranch is usually complimentary at all pizza stores. Furthermore, I accidentally dropped the ranch on the floor and the employee was laughing at me. I felt terrible. On top of that when i went to get more ranch, I was charged again. I worked at A&W, when my customers dropped their entire burger, my manager would tell me to make a new one for free. @Pizza garden pls learn but we like the pizza:)

Absolutely the best pizza I have ever had. It's even better the next day! The topping options are abundant so you can satisfy almost any craving! The service is friendly, efficient, and they always make you feel welcome. The pizzas are flashed in a stone oven making them crispy in the crust, but so soft and delicious on top! Highly recommended. I would give more than 5 starts if I could!
Pick up is easy, but they also deliver! It's a clean and welcoming store.

It was years go me visiting there but the pizzas here were amazing especially there is this white mayonnaise ish sourse that goes perfect with those and i still can't forget! Worth trying!

I've ordered from this place several times before and never had an issue. Today, I ordered two XL pizzas. When I opened the box, I found out that one of the pizzas I had ordered had an error. They delivered the wrong pizza. I called them right away but this guy just argued with me that I got what I ordered. Telling him several times that I have an order summary email didn't help. He then asked me to call the website support page because it's a problem with the website and they can't do anything about it. When I asked to speak with a manager, he said - "I'm the manager, and there's nothing else I can do for you". When I told him I have an email with the order summary, detailed the specific toppings I've ordered and the different price, he hung up.
I called back, the other guy answered the phone, simply told me to call the website support number and started arguing and yelling at me. Eventually he told me to never order from them again and hung up.
Not only that this time the Pesto Chicken pizza was really bad (very fatty and low quality chicken and chewy dried tomatoes), I got the crappiest customer service ever.
Understanding this is a franchise, I really hope this branch owner or the chain manager will see this review and really pay these two fellows what they deserve.
I'm definitely not going to order anything from this place again.

I was just there (the last time going there) and noticed only one employee was wearing a mask, and the other two or three did not. The tall guy who usually takes the money, and touches the debit machine and everything else there, was cutting some basils into pieces with his bare hands and putting them on a pizza. It's just unbelievable to see people so careless or clueless about the welfare of others. I believe their practice is not acceptable with or without the Coronavirus.

Update:
They just responded to my post by saying "Mask use is optional for our employees and customers. We follow orders of the BC Health Officer and WorkSafeBC guidelines closely and mask use is not mandatory for quick service restaurants currently, " which shows how much they care about the safety of their customers. It is "quick service" for customers to get in and out, but you and your employees are there all day, and decide to go with bare minimum of the regulations and generously share your germs with us.

Next door, the the burger place, every employee wears masks. You can't even enter a wholefood store without a mask. Enough said about the management at pizza garden. I hope anyone who reads this post avoids that store.

The cashier has bad attitude, I think they must improve their costumer service. Thought the pizza was good.

Best pizza on campus, affordable prices, super friendly staff, let me in even after the store closed.

FALSE ADVERTISING! They claim to have “keto friendly cauliflower crust”. It’s written on their website. Even when we ordered we confirmed that it was keto friendly. After eating the pizza I knew there was no way it could be keto friendly it was just too pizza crust like. So I decided to call around. When i call (and I called 3 different locations) they’ll read you all the ingredients which include RICE FLOUR, FLOUR, SUGAR! And when I say that’s not keto friendly they have nothing to say. “Oh it’s sent to us that way”. Just because it has cauliflower in it does NOT give u guys to right to call it keto friendly. This company should be sued for false advertising. Some people do keto for life and death and this could really compromise their health.

I'm an avid enthusiast of the pizza's from Pizza Garden. The crust is very well-prepared and delicious. With that being said, my wife and I used to go to this branch frequently. About 6 months ago, I had a very bad experience with someone over there who I think was the owner or probably a relative of the owner. I asked about the ingredients from him and he got upset when I asked for more details since I genuinely didn't know what "Prosciutto Cotto" is. With a sarcastic look, he talked with the cook in another language and laughed at me! As a costumer, I was offended and would not go to this location or order anything from them for foreseeable future. This was the first time I encountered such a rude behavior from the staff over there during the past 4 years but it stuck with me. With many other options available close by, I'd recommend people to avoid this place. The quality has been diminished too. Uncle Fatih's pizza is one option at UBC with very nice staff, just 100 m away.

A great spot for some quality pizza, with fair prices and well-prepared slices out of the oven. Great for when there’s a craving for pizza or a quick meal, and definitely worth a visit when in the area or commuting through University Blvd.

The branch is rather small and cozy, and offers some seats/tables for eating-in. A simple yet satisfying pizza place with a convenient location no doubt.

Pizza is good, but could be more generous on toppings. Students work here so service is mediocre. It does fine for a quick lunch, and that's about it.

Delicious pizza, best on campus and all Vancouver tbh. The employees are very friendly and professional. My favourite pizza is Deli Italiano! I also recommend you try the dipping sauces and the san Pellegrino deal!

Ordered XL smoked salmon yesterday, the pizza was way to over salted, I am not sure if it was the sauce or the cheese, it was painful to eat of what I thought would be a good family dinner. Ended up throwing it away and ordering another takeout.

TL;DR: Pizza was salty as hell, inedible.

I love pizza garden in North Van and Downtown, but this location serves bad pizza. You know they are the same ingredients, but the pizza always feels old, dry and hard to chew. I wish it was more like the other locations.

The guy behind the counter on January 15th 2019 at 8: 50 was less than hospitable. But good pizza.
