Turned us away when we needed them most.

After we weren’t able to afford the quote they gave us for my dog’s spay surgery, we had no choice but to go elsewhere. Unfortunately the other vet we went to was not being helpful and wouldn’t listen to our concerns when we went in for our post-op recheck.

I tried to book an appointment back here and they refused to see us because we went elsewhere for the surgery. They told us to go back to the place who had preformed it.even after I told them I already did and that they were not being helpful, they still refused to see us. I was completely shocked and speechless.

I sincerely hope you decide to change that policy so no one else has to go through this.

It’s really a shame because I actually thought we had a great vet here, only later to be left feeling completely helpless. You’re supposed to help your patients, not turn them away when they need you most.

(We never went back to either vet and had to find a new one - there they later determined that she has pneumonia)

I had an excellent experience at this clinic. We are new to Port Moody and my dog suddenly became sick, so I came to call this clinic based solely on reviews. All of the staff was welcoming, friendly and helpful especially since I had to come to the appointment with my 3 young children. They accommodated the chaos and showed so much care for our precious dog. Dr. Isabelle was wonderful and explained everything thoroughly, gave me options and quotes.

We moved and had to find a new vet. From the moment we walked in we were impressed with the service and attention our Sophie received. Lovely to see passionate professionals!

Dr. Blondel and the staff at PoMo Animal Hospital are the best I've ever experienced. I've had many visits to various vets in the lower mainland with my two rescues, who have complex medical and behavioural issues with mixed results but here it has been nothing but the best.

In one instance I presented something Dr. Blondel had never seen before and, by the time I pulled up to the driveway, she called me back after consulting with a specialist colleague and established a diagnosis.

They truly care and do their best for your pets. I have complete trust in this clinic.

Jan 18,2022 (**updated review at the END**)

I have to buy special Unrinary SO for my and you can only order it from a VET. So as pricing has gone up almsot 40% since last year I had to phone around to see who had the cheapest 8 kilo bag. I phone this VET Port Moody Animal hospital. I got a price for the Hills CD both in fish and chicken and they said it was $78.50 for each bag. I was astonioshed so I had to double check. They confirmed. I still had some more vets to call to get thier pricing. After all my phoning I phones Port Moody Vet back and for a 3rd time I confirmed this price of $78.50 for the 8kg bag. Again they confirmed. SO I went ahead and ordered one of each flavour.

I phoned today which was about a week later and they said it just came in. Great!

I went their and the bags were their then they said it was $112. XX each.
I said thats not true but nope they striaght out lied to me and couldn't belive how misled I was.

Be very careful with this place because they will say one thing to you and complety do the opposite. WHo knows how many cutomers they screwed over if was the first time I dealt with this Vet.
NEVER AGAIN!

January 19,2022 **UPDATE**
I received a call from the Manager of this Vet Hospital. I let it go to voicemail as I thought my dealings were done. But she left a very nice message which made me call them back.
SHe explained their faults and honoured their price that was given to me when I made the order. I went to pick it up and Tracy the manager wanted to greet me and apologise one more time and wish me well.

I did very much apreciate the honour here and retrack my origional message as it was how I was feeling after the origional experience.

Not many business go this far to fix a comunincation error. So I changed my stars and apreciate the effort.

My first time meeting Dr. Buxton, 2 days ago when my small pom was hit by a car, 2 blocks from the office. She took him in immediately, gave first rate care and assistance. She is calm and very caring. I will continue to have her care for all my pets. My first impression of her was compassion and competent. Thankyou so much Dr. Buxton. Cash's mom.

Being very particular as to the Doctor of my pets, there is no doubt Dr. Buxton is everything you want in a vet. She is compassionate, caring, knowledgeable and patient. And unlike a lot of vets that don't perform surgery, she is an excellent surgeon. That makes her complete. Like some of her other patients, we follow her from South Burnaby Veterinary Hospital despite her new location is double the distance.

Thanks, Dr Alex. Great service and care for our cat. We were in for a routine booster vaccination and was impressed by the thorough assessment and great advice.

Dr. Buxton is the most caring and professional vet we have ever dealt with. We followed her over from SBVH where she had provided comprehensive care for our cat and dog for the past 16 years. We can't recommend this clinic enough.

We brought our puppy in for his second round of shots, our first visit to this vet. We told the vet this was our first time with a dog of our own. They brought him into a second room (lured him using treats, they did not tell us what they were and just assumed they were fine for him) and closed the door. We were shocked as the reason for this wasn't explained at all. Why is it necessary to hide what they are doing? They opened the door when he was on the table and we saw them administer only 2 of the vaccinations (one needle to his shoulder and spray to his nose). He still itches the spot aggressively on his shoulder where they gave him the shot we witnessed.

The vet did not warn us about vaccine injuries (he was sick with fever, overall sensitivity where he would yelp if he tensed his body, thick mucous drool, lethargy, and a cough for the next few days) and did not warn us not to bring him around other puppies who had not yet received their shots (another vet recommended to avoid this for a few weeks). We had plans that weekend to spend with another puppy and thankfully the other puppy was okay afterwards.

We told this vet that this was our first dog and she gave us ZERO of the extra and important information. She also pushed the flea and tick vaccination, where another vet has since informed us that there have been no lime disease reports in dogs in the area. We live in a city and if needed it is easy to make an essential oil tick spray and not risk the seizures associated with the vaccination. She gave us no holistic options and seemed to be very moulded by the medical system.

It is clear that this vet doesn't care to give important information to her customers that could support a dogs wellbeing and would rather just take customers money. I will not be going back and would not recommend it to anyone unless they don't care for their pets wellbeing.

Our 3 month old puppy got in to something toxic in the backyard and we had to rush him to the emergency hospital we did not like the way staff handled our very emotional and stressful encounter there and after paying 1k there he still needed to be transferred to another vet as they closed at 8am and he still wasn’t better. We tried the vet I normally go to in Newport but they didn’t have a doctor in until 11 so we called here and they got made room for us to come right away. Everyone there were incredibly caring and understanding, they could tell what a hard night it had been for us and little Zuko and were very empathetic of that. He is doing much better now and the vets here were very informative as to what was going on with him. This will be my new vet for all of my puppy needs from now on.

You are in luck Port Moody! Dr Buxton has been my vet for approximately 25 yrs and she has moved to your area. She is knowledgeable, professional, compassionate and attentive. She is everything you would want in a vet, going through good times as well as sad times with your furry loved ones.

Only place I could find that was open on good Friday. My puppy needed to see a Dr asap and they got him in quick. Treated him quickly and assured us he would be fine.

Would not take my pets anywhere else. Dr. Siegert and staff truly care for animals and it is clear in their work. My partner and I rescue senior dogs, and Port Moody Animal hospital are truly experts with the unique needs that our dogs have. We are so grateful for the work they do. Ethical, honest, and compassionate. We have used them for 5 years and could not dream of a better vet.

Friendly, and willing to provide home remedies before costly treatments. Family like environment and fair pricing.
10 August 2020 15:04
Dr. Siegert and Port Moody Animal Hospital have been providing our family's pets with veterinary care for twenty years. We were impressed by the team from the outset and it has only grown in our estimation over the intervening years. The quality of service is exceptional, the fees are reasonable, Dr. Siegert skillfully combines a no-no sense approach with compassion, and her insights into animal behaviour add another level of care to her medical expertise.

Dr Seigert and Port Moody Animal Hospital are about the only vets we thoroughly trust for our pets and their care. No nonsense, honest and practical approach - while always being incredibly kind and open. Would never go anywhere else!

I have been taking our dogs to see Dr. Siegert for over 20 years and she is the best vet I have ever seen.

I've taken my cats and dogs for 15 or more years and am so happy with the excellent care they receive. They get a thumbs up from me!

Dr. Seigert is an amazing veterinarian for so many reasons. Dr. Seigert is naturally kind and compassionate towards the animals she cares for, she is always current in research in veterinarian care and will spend the time to talk with you about your pet because she is genuine.

Port Moody animal hospital were excellent! Very compassionate! Dr. Segiert is a excellent vet. Recommend very highly. Especially, when we had to put our little guy down. And the staff were great as well. Keep up the great work! Other vets could learn a lot from Dr. Segiert! Especially. A certain vet office in Surrey Newton area!
