Powell River Town Centre Hotel

Fourth time staying here. Last two times I found hair in the coffee machine. This time I found residue hair all over the pillows and lamp.
Called fromt desk and they helped replace promptly.
There has been a sign that says theres a staff shortage in housekeeping since at least June. Please hire more cleaning staff.

Front desk was helpful when I couldn't get into marine inn after having ferry issues. Gave an extra breakfast for me and had a room ready within a couple of hours even tho they were booked and no one had checked out yet. Horrible rainy day lol
Ate gummies and watched tv because weather was so bad

Basic, but dog friendly, so I stayed here for 3 days, room was never cleaned.but the hotel itself is clean and staff at front tldesk r friendly.

The hotel's website makes you think this will be a pretty nice place to stay, when in fact it is kind of a dump.

The photos on the website look pretty good, but it seems that only some units have been renovated. We booked a standard double room, and it looked nothing like the photo in our email confirmation or the website. It looked like we had travelled back in time to 1987.

Even though the website claims a hair dryer is provided, there wasn't one, and when we called the front desk, they told us that they don't provide hair dryers. What? Really? This is the first hotel I've ever stayed at that didn't provide a hair dryer.

To top it off, the pillows were very lumpy, the mini fridge was very loud and the carpet felt a bit musty. Needless to say, I will be staying elsewhere next time I'm in Powell River.

When BC Ferries decided to cancel all ferries on a bank holiday weekend we were left stranded and in a rush to find a hotel/motel.
We called every single accommodation in the area that we could drive to, everywhere was full. There was 5 of us and one expecting so sleeping in the vehicle was not an option.
The staff initially advised they had no rooms but we called back again to try our luck and the receptionist advised that she would make it work and accommodate us for the night. They offered us water on arrival and were very friendly. All we wanted was a bed to sleep on so we used little to non of the amenities to rate those.

Housekeeping is a nightmare. If management isn't able to hire enough people to do the cleaning job properly, then they shouldn't operate at full capacity and leave the rooms dirty thats not an excuse. The hotel management relies on its location as the only hotel in downtown, so usually, they are fully booked in summer regardless of the level of service that's completely unacceptable, but they will continue doing this over and over becuase this hotel is privately owned so no franchise headquarters to monitor and assure hospitaliity standards are met and when I complained about this horrible service (not even able to pick up the garbage daily KELLY the front desk manager replied with ATTITUDE THATS ALL WHAT WE CAN DO JUST EVERY OTHER DAY and she wont compormise on that IT IS WHAT IT IS ATTITUDE. There is no place for customer service her Just Go #$%# yourself.

The location is great, as you are right next to the grocery store and fast food. There is a restaurant in the hotel. However, the rooms are very dated and old. Luckily, I brought my own bed sheets and felt comfortable spending the night there. Staff was hit and miss, and few of the older ladies were a little on the grumpy side. We had one delightful young girl named Lovepreet helping us.

We stayed at this hotel when we came to visit family in Powell River. The hotel is very centrally located, near the mall, Canadian Tire, A &W and many other conveniences. The library is walking distance away as is Willingdon Beach. The room was exceptionally clean - probably THE cleanest hotel we stayed in during our 17 day road trip. Nice bathroom/shower setup with dual lights so you can have the heat lamp on, the mirror lights or both. Staff were friendly and service in the restaurant was good as was breakfast. The outdoor patio and garden area is beautiful, although we never made time to sit outside. The downside was because our stay was only 3 days, no room service is provided. By day 2 we were low on toilet paper. When I inquired at the front desk, I was told someone would refresh our room. Unfortunately no one actually did. We visited Walmart and bought our own toilet paper. Otherwise the stay was very enjoyable. We would stay here again and recommend to friends and family.

I'm not sure if my experience was racially motivated or if it was an honest mistake they could have made good on, but 2 years ago, I booked a pet friendly room online. The booking was made well in advance, and coming from Vancouver, it was a long days drive which includes 2 ferries one way

Upon arrival, I was denied a room as they 'had no indication that a pet friendly room was booked'. Even after showing them my online confirmation with details, they wouldn't budge and simply said no rooms were available.

This was alarming as last minute pet friendly accommodations are hard to come by. Thankfully, after dozens of calls, a nice place down the street saved us from sleeping in the car.

To the hotel's credit, they are located in a central area of the town and the lobby area looks clean and well maintained.

Good hotel. Didn't have pool or gym. But it does have a nice garden court in the back. Standard rooms. Good service at reception and dining area. Groceries and coffee shops close by.

I didn’t have any problems during my stay! Continental breakfast was modest, pillows not very comfortable, old toilets that waste water and sometimes needs a second flushing! Other than these, a decent place to stay!

Decent location, service was ok (friendly enough). Room was clean (ish). Lots of burnt out/missing lights around the hotel & rooms. Warning heat in rooms is on or off. The rooms heat cant be set to a specific temp. So it's either full A/C or full heat. Super annoying.

Overall pretty nice, except it wasn’t clarified that pet-friendly rooms are limited to only 4 rooms

The beds were horrible. They were on rollers that wouldn't lock and the mattress would slip off the box spring constantly

Very cozy place, right in the Powell River city center, in walking distance to the restaurants and various stores around.

Just arrived so i can't say much about the service just yet but I believe it will be 5 star's
