This is my default Hainan chicken restaurant. Not just in BC Canada but also the best including WA USA. I love Hainan chicken and have tried so many places this is the one that you must try otherwise you will regret!

I used to frequently dine here many years ago because the food was delicious. Turns out, the management has changed. I came back today for lunch after a long time, and noticed the food seemed stale. After one or two bites, I lost my appetite due to the rancid taste of the fried rice. What shocked me the most was that any leftover food from yesterday is reused for the next day, as admitted by one of the staff members. After eating, I felt a bit unwell. This will be the last time I come here. Very disappointing.

If you know, you know that this place has been here for a VERY VERY long time. I want to say, it's been here since I was a child. I remember coming here on my first time when I was a kid. I still remember that first day, sitting down with my family when I was maybe 6 years old. This fully has that mom & pop feel with FANTASTIC food.

This place has one of the best Singaporean food within the Lower Mainland. And on top of that, they serve one of the BEST Hainanese chicken in town. Yes it is a cash only venue, but to be honest, 80% of restaurants in Richmond are cash only anyways, so I am not surprised at all.

I would always come visit here if I am craving for some of that Roti, BBQ Satay and that half Hainanese chicken. I would say they are a pretty solid place with good memories and fantastic food. Love their take out style of preparing food and will always come drop by for some food.

Will recommend to my friends everyone looking for a good hole in a wall with mom & pop vibes.

Definitely another good place to get malaysian food. Cheap and very good. Laksa was very good. The hainanese chicken rice not the best in town but it is very good nonetheless with very worth it price as well. Definitely a recommended place for you to try out and for it to be a comfort restaurant.

" The lady obviously wanted to say "no" but couldn't say it out loud, so she was very upset He teased me and said "say it earlier next time", but luckily I reacted quickly enough, "You didn't ask me" and won the match point. Later, the lady's glass of ice was thrown on the table. I don't know where she got such a temper. If you want the boss to raise your salary, please tell her what to do with me.

Very expensive for two bones in a soup ($14!). The skewers we ordered costed $2 more than advertised! Only saving grace was the hainan chicken. Won't be coming back unless they inprove their standards.

Nice little shop! Now the price of Hainan chicken rice has increased a bit, 20 and a half, but it is really tender, and the fried rice is a gift, very delicious! I also ordered laksa, which feels like an improved taste, more like curry, and the spice flavor is not as strong as the authentic one, which is not bad! Malaysian milk tea is just ordinary milk tea, you can order it or not. It was seven o'clock when we went, and there was no waiting but the store was full, but even if we waited, it was very fast.worth a try

My sister experienced racism at their restaurant, a lady treated them very poorly and then expected her and her friend to pay 10% tip ya’ll crazy. It’s called tip for customer service, not cause you exist in the restaurant.

Their chicken rice is pretty darn good! Its a hole in the wall restaurant. Seen some food going out to tables n looks very mouth watering.
One thing i didnt like was they took cash or debit card n no american debit cards. Maybe its to cut down on over head cost.
Cant wait to go back to try out rest of their menu.

Honestly it is not easy to give my marks for this eatery which appears to depend much more on take-outs than dine-in guests. With my limited knowledge about Singaporean/Malaysian dishes, I like their curry more than Hainan Chicken rice. I will for sure to order their curry for take-out again as it is easy to heat it up later at home.

Service and chicken is generally good with original owner & staff. Recent visits, waitress has very poor attitude and service. Even the other table would ask for suggestions on ordering and server stemmed annoyed & snarky answers. She seems to avoid customers tables and doesn't want to be there. Just terrible.
Possible new staff/owners. Two price increases 16% within 6 months for the range chicken.

Hainanese Chicken and Satay BBQ here is the best! Would like to come back and try the beef rendang and curry. Place was okay not really clean but man! The food was awesome. Laksa was so so. Service was great and servers were awesome as well.

Love this hole in the wall place. Food is amazing and great value as well. My favorite laksa place in Vancouver and you can’t miss the Hainan chicken.

Recently I ordered take out fragrance rice & chicken for dinner, but surprisingly to found out they have chopped the chicken & then took the bones out, instead of sliced the meat out like before, I don't know if they've changed chef, but chopped or sliced chicken do make a difference in the taste & texture!

I got take out and as a malaysian.sorry this was pretty shocking. The hainan chicken is just white, cold and jellyish in a cold tasteless sauce. Real hainan chicken is NOT cold and gelatinous. Their chilli sauce is literally just sweet vinegar. Horrible. Their ginger spring onion sauce also pretty bad, tastes like plain spring onion with lots of salt. Rice was okay. Curry fishballs.the fishball are okay but the curry just NO. I don’t even know what that was.
Workers in the shop are also very rude, i doubt they are singaporean or even malaysian. If they are, they should be ashamed of representing our part of the world like this. They insisted they can’t give me a bag although i could see 2 whole containers with bags. Just overall rude attitude. Don’t waste yr time.

I had the Hainanese chicken rice and roti.the chicken was really juicy and flavourful, and boneless too. The roti was a perfect amount of crispy and fatty, not overly greasy. Loved it!

Standard chinese mom n pop restaurant that focuses on the quality of food rather than ambience. The Hainan chicken is the best in metro Vancouver. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. The rice is also delicious.

Staff are friendly and helpful. We got in at 5: 30pm on a Sunday and the server gave us a heads up that if we wanted to order Hainan chicken, there's only one left.

I was recommended to try this restaurant’s Hainanese Chicken so I stopped by and ordered their Free Range Hainanese Chicken. Everything was nicely packed and came out quickly. They provide 2 boxes of rice (4-5 portions worth) with the whole hainanese chicken order, as well as two types of sauce (a ginger, green onion sauce and a vinegary tingy chilli sauce). The chicken was very tender and crunchy, especially the skin. It also had a slight savoury flavour, and a faint but subtle “chicken flavour” (that free range chicken has) which was brought out by the proper poached cooking method. These made the chicken really good on its own. The chicken was more flavourful with either sauces and the sauces were different from each other, but both complemented the chicken. The rice was really good on its own or with the chicken as it had flavour from being cooked in chicken fat/broth.

Hole in the wall place that's been around forever. Love the roti a s the shrimp stir fried noodles, so much umami!

Do not go to this place if you crave for Malaysian food. The beef rendang was awful and did not taste like rendang. The Mee goreng was so sweet and the prata was a great disappointment. And very expensive.

I ordered the 14$ Brk Kut Teh then I found there is only 2 pieces pork and a small bowl of soup. The soup is very bitter and pork is dry. I will definitely not visit this place again

Singaporean Hainanese Chicken/Rice.the full chicken combo set is good and its size! Love it! Missed dining inside. Tables are abit more organized and spacious. Great services! Abit unsure about the pricing/rice to go portion sizes measurements. For Whole Order 5 bowls of the rice, for Half Order its 3 bowls. Should not the Whole Order be 6 bowls of rices (number even) odd number for whole chicken order. Think it was strange! Plus our whole chicken order was only 4 bowls of rice on the take out container. Plus they left out the soy sauces. Guess they were short on rices in the rice cooker during my order take out pick up.

Amazing little place! The food is full of flavour, cheap and so so delicious! Easily one of my new favorite restaurants! Must try!

Delicious curry fish ball, laksa and beef curry. Will definitely return here again. Flavour is impeccable and price is affordable!

There's not much more I can say about this place other than if you have not been and love Malaysian food, you have to come. This place might look like a hole in the wall but I assure you it'll probably be the best chicken rice you'll ever have in Richmond!

As they close early and sell out of chicken rice I recommend calling in advance to reserve yours so you don't drop by and leave disappointed. Highly recommend!

Amazing curries, rotis and fresh seafood ingredients. You can tell the taste of the seafood and even chicken was fresh and tender, didn’t taste old or dried out.

Affordable and tasty. Great place to come for a simple and delicious meal. Hainese chicken is deboned and smooth, beef curry is delish and not spicy so my kids can enjoy

Food tastes okay (not bad, but not great), but bad purchase experience. Got given curry chicken for a curry beef order. When I called back, the owner offered me $1 back (chicken price was $1 less), instead of replacing the order. It was eventually replaced, after a short argument. But she should have offered replacement right off the bat, since the mistake was hers.

This used to be our family’s go to place for satay chicken and prawn noodles. We ordered food tonight and was disappointed at the portion size.

See the picture of the prawn noodles in the SMALL container, it’s not even close to the top. And that’s the dozen skewers of chicken satay. Compare the size of the small peanut sauce container to its right.

The quality and taste of the satay meat is different now. This place has been steadily declining, which is quite unfortunate as this place was my late Dad’s favourite place. Now the place is run down and the portions are getting smaller and smaller.

Love this place. We usually get the Hainanese chicken combo and a Beef rendang to go. Price is reasonable and the food is delicious.
