Annual furnace check booked seamlessly, executed professionally and for the quoted price (plus filters I should have changed myself!). ProGas always does a first-rate job.
The technician (Mark) was very knowledgeable and showed us how a previous temporary repair to the air vent on the boiler could lead to pressure problems. I would have given a higher review except that I was not given a price estimate over the phone when I booked the repair. I was unaware that there were fixed rates for certain repairs that would be charged over and above the hourly rate for the visit. I would suggest that the telephone receptionist be given access to the fixed rates and that she inform the customer that the fixed rate charge is in addition to the hourly charge. Npte that we have been long time customers for maintenance of our boiler and fireplace.
I fired this company over their horrible communications. I was a regular customer for a few years. I noticed a few years in a row that it when I attempted to book a routine annual service that it would take them one or two days just to return the call. I would call at 9 am and hear back from them at 5 pm the next day! This was not one time but almost every time over a period of years.
They had various excuses, claiming a problem with their phones (and apparently their email wouldn’t work either since I couldn’t get them to answer it). Sometimes they would just say they were busy. Most customers understand that a company might not answer right away but you would expect them to call you back within the hour and not 32 hours later. This is simply consistently unacceptable bad service. I know several people who were trying to hire them who gave up and called someone else who can answer phone calls in a timely manner.
I finally fired them after an attempt at getting routine gas fireplace inspection. It took 3 weeks to get an appointment. The service technician broke the fireplace. He said he needed a part to repair it. After 3 weeks he returned with the wrong part (incompetent). I then waited 3 more weeks (now 9 weeks in total) and didn’t hear back from them. I called and left a message and waited the usual 24 hours for them to respond. This is not acceptable. I explained that I just wanted an answer whether or not they were getting the part for repairs. It would have been okay if they had simply said they couldn’t get the part so as not to wasted any more of my time. Instead they said they were emailing the parts department and would get back to me. They never did. I hired someone else who promptly fixed the fireplace.
It turns out if that if you ignore your customers enough times they will go away. This would make an excellent case study of epic failed customer service.
David was right on time and installed the system flawlessly. He was very responsive to our questions and added little touches to add to our overall experience. We love our new system and would recommend Pro Gas North Shore to anyone.
Ben did an excellent job of restarting 2 of our fireplaces and checking the other 2. And gave advice on our boiler system and converting the living room fireplace back to gas.

I have always had good service from Pro Gas. Apparently fixing the fireplace was not easy and the technician didn’t want to return. He did though and the job was completed, thanks to him. Ben had to come back today as the pilot light went out. He was able to do a temporary fix until the new part arrives.
ProGas North Shore installed a gas fireplace for us last year. We were very pleased with the service we received so when we needed a new hot water tank recently we immediately contacted them again. We needed a smaller sized hot water tank and the Service Administrator was extremely helpful and quickly found us exactly what was necessary and provided us with a competitive estimate. Each time we have used ProGas North Shore, they have arrived on schedule, completed the work efficiently and left the place clean and tidy. We highly recommend ProGas North Shore.

Over the years I've hired Pro Gas North Shore to do several different projects around my home. They have run a gas line to install a gas fireplace and also for my BBQ. They've also installed a new gas stove, replaced a gas furnace and most recently after our hot summer, installed central air conditioning in our older house. Their guys have always been courteous, tidy and have great attention to detail, making the extra effort to make the job look perfect. Their pricing has always been reasonable. I have no affiliation with the company but just wanted to give these guys a thumbs up.
