Proper Poke Piercing and Tattoo

Finding a place that does "downstairs" piercings is difficult. So I was elated to discover proper poke here in Victoria. And holy flying cheese wheels am I SO HAPPY I DID.   Being I had to unleash the kraken, I was bit nervous. But Amus was super awesome and their attitude made me feel incredibly comfortable. My scheduled piercing was the same. They carefully explained the process and the steps they were taking throughout. Now I have an amazing accessory to my down south didgeridoo and even though it hurt, my total experience at properpoke did not.

Tldr: proper poke is an amazing shop. Amus is an amazing piercer. I am 100% going back for more.

Can't emphasize enough how amazing Amus is! The day after a rather bad experience at another piercing parlor, resulting in poorly done piercings with the wrong type of jewlery, I sent Proper Poke an SOS email asking for help. The team responded very quickly and Amus made a special accomodation to fit me in the next day to assess the damage and change my jewlery. Going in, my piercings were bleeding and hurt so much, but Amus was unbelievably gentle with the jewlery change. By the time I got home, my piercings were feeling 1000% better. She also provided all information I needed to know given the situation, including managing my expectations that I may need to take them out and let them heal over. It's been a month now and the ones Amus fixed are healing beautifully. It's unbelievable. Absolutely do not hesitate to see Amus!

I only have positive things to say about proper poke. The space is inviting, inclusive and comfortable. Everyone that I interacted with was friendly and kind. Amus is an incredible piercer and they pay great attention to safety and sterilization. By far the most professional piercing experience I've ever had.

Been coming here for over 3 years and every time the experience is so great.amus is personable and friendly, including the other staff as well.i was hesitant when i first started getting into piercings about who to go to, and im so glad i came here! Amus makes the piercing procedure go by fast and it never hurts as much and i think it would.always glad to pay the price of the jewelry, as i know it's high quality.i'm happy to say i've been here since amus was at union, and i can't wait to come back for more!

Great experience. The person who did my piercing was very knowledgeable and was able to counsel me on which jewelry was best for the piercing I was getting. Also I was the only one in there and it was affordable price for both the piercing and the jewelry.

Impeccably clean. Amus is so skilled - piercings have been well placed and all healed beautifully. I have brought a couple teens here for their first piercings and Amus is calm, patient and made it a friendly, safe space for a particularly nervous one. Highly recommend!

Randomly booked in at Proper Poke for my second lobe piercing after seeing them open up on Government St a year ago, and had an amazing experience! Amos was very calming and the space is quiet and beautifully decorated. They were able to actually save one ‘grown-over’ piercing from many years ago, saving me some healing time! They also provided advice on other things, ensured proper after-care, and overall was a great experience as someone who is scared of needles! I’ll be back:)

I had my septum pierced by Amus and it was a great experience. The shop is very clean and welcoming and the staff are all very professional. Amus is very thorough with explaining the procedure and a very calm presence during the whole appointment. I recommend Amus and Proper Poke to all my friends for their piercing, and jewellery needs. If I ever want more holes poked in my body, I'll be sure to go here!

The modern, spacious atmosphere of this spot is quite lovely and I've had some truly wonderful experiences with Amus.

But overall I find the staff a bit cool & pretentious, they always act like they're doing you a favour just to speak to you. The jewelry prices are high too, I found a great source just around the corner for much cheaper.

I went in to get my Nipples pierced today with Amus and could not have been more pleased. Amus is clearly very knowledgeable and used great techniques to help reduce pain as well as made the process as stress free as possible. I’ve had bad experiences with other people before but would not hesitate to recommend Proper Poke to anyone! 100 stars if I could!

Bri managed to fit me in last second for a jewelry change in my helix and tragus piercings. She did an excellent job, helping me pick out jewelry in my price range, and providing help with aftercare (despite me getting the piercings done in another country!). I could not be happier with her and Amus's exceptional service as someone with a needle phobia. I'll always recommend A Proper Poke!

I randomly found this place and called to see if they had a next day appointment for a second nose piercing. They were very helpful over the phone and booked me for first piercing in the morning. Bri was very nice, welcoming, and knowledgeable. They had a large selection of jewelry. The piercing was very quick and she kept me very comfortable having small talk during the process. I love the placement of piercing. It is a very clean, welcoming, and great group of people working there. Bri was great! I definitely recommend this place!

Had the opportunity to be tattooed by Nicole at Proper Poke and it was such a wonderful experience from start to end. It was my second tattoo so I was a bit nervous and she made me feel so comfortable and walked me through every step! The shop was also super beautiful, welcoming, and clean/safe. I’ve had several piercings over the years and Proper Poke was by far the best experience. Clean, inviting and Amus was incredibly professional and knowledgeable. I’d recommend this place to anyone but especially those getting their first piercings who might feel intimidated or nervous.
