I recently saw Dr. Dhillon for an issue with double vision, which made it so I could not drive anymore and needed time off work. She explained what was causing the double vision in terms that I could understand and prescribed new glasses with prisms. The glasses have given me my life back! Thank you so so much! I will be referring family and friends of this office! Sunny

I saw Dr. Dhillon and she was an hour late for my initial appointment and I wasn't impressed. She was not very thorough and seemed stressed. I felt rushed out of my appointment. I had to follow up with her multiple times as I was still having problems seeing and always waited at least 20 mins past scheduled time. She didn't have any real definitive answers and she seemed to be guessing and didn't seem very knowledgeable. I had to see another doctor and finally got answers in ONE visit to the issues I was having with my vision. Unfortunately, I do not recommend her.

Great service, staff are knowledgeable and helpful Dr Poon is very thorough with attention to detail. I recommend this service.

Dr. Poon and his staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. He goes above and beyond for his patients. I would highly recommend him!

I'm quite upset with Dr. Poon. A recent experience didn't sit right with me, and a different optometrist has now validated my concerns.
The results of my last eye exam seemed odd to me, with a) my contact prescription being different from my glasses prescription for the first time ever and b) my contact prescription being stronger than my glasses prescription, also for the first time ever. All information online suggests neither of these results should be the case for low or medium levels of myopia.
When I went back to Dr. Poon to bring up my concerns about this, he essentially gaslighted me and threw some "expert sounding" excuses at me to ultimately disregard my concerns and what I had read. He finally gave me another eye exam for my contacts, though not my glasses, at which time I ended up being suggested a contact lens prescription which a different optometrist has just confirmed is 0.5 off (and which I went and bought 3 months worth of, and have lived with because I didn't feel like going through that passive aggressive condescension again). Not only that, but my glasses prescription is indeed the same as my contacts AS IT
SHOULD BE, with both being off by 0.5 after all that, and so the contact exam redo offered by Dr. Poon would only have addressed half the problem even if it had gotten the one thing right.
My new (also highly rated) optometrist affirmed every single one of my concerns that Dr. Poon had brushed off, saying that at my myopia level my contacts and glasses should indeed be the same, and certainly the contacts should not be stronger than the glasses (if anything, they might be weaker in some situations, if not the same, as I read previously). At least I waited to order new glasses! Not only that: I felt my left eye had progressed unusually fast in the last year, something that my new prescription confirms and another thing Dr. Poon had brushed off as if it was all in my head.
I'm not sure what happened here, but I have seen how Dr. Poon tries to cram as many patients in as possible recently, and have seen him quite brazenly trying to win new patients in the glasses store outside his office, as if he doesn't already have a substantial backlog of patients. The whole thing suggests this is now a medical practice being run primarily for profit, at the expense of offering quality patient care. I really think it used to be better, and Dr. Poon used to actually care about his patients, though
I certainly question his priorities now.
Needless to say, I won't be returning.

The most pleasant and kind Dr ever. Offers free treats while you wait! Completely upfront about procedures and costs. Best optometrist in Victoria.

Great staff - all very professional and kind. Dr. Poon is a thorough doctor who genuinely cares about his patients. Would recommend to anyone looking for an optometrist!

Dr. Poon is honestly the most amazing optometrist in Victoria!
I've been a patient of his for over 10 years. I first went to Dr. Poon in elementary school, when he helped me get my first pair of glasses.
When he moved offices, I had a different optometrist for a few years, but recently went back to Dr. Poon because I was tired of being "patient #_".
When I went in for my eye exam, his face lit up like a Christmas tree! He still remembered my name after not seeing me for over 5 years. He and I spent over 20 minutes chatting and catching up. He wanted to know how college has been for me, what was new in my life, and what I had planned in the future.
THIS is why I went back to Dr. Poon. Not only is he an amazing optometrist, but also an amazing friend. He has helped me with so many things- from getting my first pair of glasses to giving me wedding advice.
My parents were his patients, I am his patient, and (if I'm still in Victoria by then) my kids will be his patients.
With Dr. Poon you're not just a patient, you're family.

Dr. Poon is an excellent optometrist. He uses the most up to date equipment which most other labs do not. Dr. Poon diagnosed a condition quite early in my eyes and I was able to visit the eye specialist and have the condition taken care of. The specialist commented that most optometrists would not have noticed the condition. I highly recommend Dr. Poon.

Dr Poon is very professional (fun too), knowledgeable and thorough - I have been seeing him for a long time. My husband and I both are glad that he is a great doctor.

Easy to talk to and very knowledgeable, Dr. Poon is the only optometrist I go to in Victoria. I highly recommend him to my friends and colleagues.

Genuinely impressed by my latest visit to Dr. Poon's office. He truly went above and beyond - not only was my eye test top notch but he also took the time to get to know me, offered me a Rice Krispie treat, and worked with my budget as a student. Not once did I feel like he was trying to upsell me. Also the most reasonable rates in town according to my own research! They have the latest Optomaps retinal imaging system. The staff member at the reception inside was super friendly as well. Overall a very pleasant visit! Definitely recommend Purely optometry!

Before I left my last eye doc who could never seem to get my contact lens prescriptions right, I asked my friends who was a great eye doc in Victoria? Most of them said Doctor Poon and Purely Optometry! I am so very happy that I found him! For the first time ever, after trying about 20 different contact lens prescriptions for my bifocal needs, he brought me to 20/20 vision with contacts. He has a super camera that can see signs of impending issues like thinning retina areas, gave me tests I have never had anywhere else and takes the time to explain what they mean and what to watch for. The staff here are extremely professional and I am impressed with the fact that he runs this office as a teaching academy as well for intern optometrists. Excellent optometry experience. Best I have had.
