Lark took us on a fantastic adventure exploring different wines and their nuances. She was able impart knowledge and help us fully explore our own preferences. Lark made this a fun and exciting experience! The lake views are beautiful.
We did not explore the rooms as we were only there for wine tasting and dining.

Kim did our wine tasting, this girl know everything there is to know, after years of doing wine tastings, she is definitely the BEST! So friendly and fun, made it a great time for us all!

Beautiful winery with fantastic views. Great venue for big events. Wonderful little market with woodfired pizzas, sandwiches, desserts & hot and cold drinks. Also there is high end dining with delicious entrees. Indoor/outdoor seating is available. And of couse there is Wine tasting. Lots of parking.

We hosted a large family gathering here. While we were seated outside in a private area.that was the only highlight of the dinner.

The steak we had was atrocious. On a scale of 1 to 10. It was a 1, and that's generous.

As a person who eats and cooks steaks regularly, this was probably by far the worse cut of meat they could of served. The meat was not trimmed and I don't even believe it was the cut mentioned on our set menu.

The meat was incredibly tough and unbearable to chew.

As well they also forgot special needs for specific parties in our group and needed to be reminded.

The appetizers were bland and not anything to be remembered.

Come here for the wine. Don't come here for the food.

If you get Donna, you will have the best tasting of your life. She is knowledgeable, she is social, she is the moment. We love her and will be going back just to see her. Give this woman a raise.

All round exceptional from ambience in the dining areas, food and overall service. Took advantage of the gift shop filled with award winning wines and novelties. A must see for any traveler to this part of Canada.

I think for wine enjoyers, it is a really good place but, if you are here for the food then it is not as good as I expected. Also, great view and employees are nice

This is my second time visiting quails gate, and my husband and I both got food poisoning (upset stomach and nausea) for the next 2 days after eating the aged steak pictured below. It was not prepared properly and I am very disappointed as we loved our first meal here. Do not recommend.

We went for a tasting this week. We were treated extremely well. Paulo was our sommelier. We have been visiting wineries for over 20 years and he still managed to teach us something new! The setting was stunning and we enjoyed the wines. We had lunch in the market - a great option if you are looking for a faster but still great quality meal between activities!

There is one place I would definitely go see if I was here visiting and that's Quails gate winery, a true class act of a restaurant and best quality wines found right here in beautiful West Kelowna BC.and im lucky enough to live here!

Experience was fine until I lined up to buy wine, I was next in line before a customer who was taking their time with a large order. The manager decided to open up another cash and serve the group behind me. I guess the attractive women in the tight clothes made his mind up on who would get service first.i almost walked out, I probably should have. In fact the staff here seems entirely unfriendly as opposed to the much more pleasant staff at Frind Winery

Update: the winery called me an apologized for my treatment by their manager, I'd like to say that I'm impressed with their handling of the situation.

The views are what take this place to the next level! Such a nice vineyard & great tasting room! They wines for the most part are all really tasty, but they are also very easily found at any liquor store, which takes away the novelty.
I've eaten at the restaurant twice & I remember there being a heavenly burrata a few years back, but recently in 2022, I didn't love their menu. The corn gnocchi was the best thing I tried & it was "good enough" at best. The wines are hard to go wrong with but it's more so a stop to check out the scenery & views!

We did a wine tasting here and I would absolutely recommend it! It has the most amazing view overlooking the vines and the water, such a lovely spot. Our sommelier was very friendly and we really enjoyed all he had to tell us about the wines!

One of my favourite must stop at wineries, not only for the view but their food and service never disappoints ️

Fantastic customer service, we did a last minute wine tasting and they still accommodated us. The views were amazing and we loved Donna and Elizabeth. If you havent been to Quails Gate, go visit and you will not be disappointed.

Food is incredible, service is personable, politr and unbeatable. Location outdoors beautifully looks over the city and water.

TAKE A TOUR HERE! You will NOT regret it! Donna is incredibly knowledgeable about the wine and vineyard. We had a Bachelorette Party here and her energy was unmatched. She is fun, energetic, and truly will leave you smiling and enjoying the winery when it's over and wishing you had more time together.

The view, the food, the service and the wine. We loved our visit, took home bottles of wine and have been purchasing more locally since. Top 3 wineries we visited while in Kelowna (out of 14). Don't miss this stop.

We brought out of town guests to the winery and paid for an Estate Wine Tasting. From the moment we were taken to the wine tasting counter, the experience was lacking. Firstly, we waited 5 mins before anyone approached us to start the tasting, at which point the host suddenly started a conversation with another wine host about the wine she had the evening prior (before ever pouring us a drop). The two employees then proceeded to ignore us and talk about the wines they were drinking from Portugal and their opinions on the wine for another 5 mins before ever turning back to us. It was definitely one of the poorest customer experiences I have had at a winery. And with now dozens to choose from in the area, I will not be going back or bringing guests anytime soon.

A beautiful winery with a quality restaurant that looks over the vista and orchard. Make sure you check out Old Vine while you're here, you won't be disappointed.

As for the wines, we bought a few and brought it back to the Lower Mainland. 2020 Chardonnay was a favourite!

Have been to many tastings as we live in the valley, but have to say our experience with Paulo was the best!

Wine tasting was mediocre, but what left a worse taste was our experience with the restaurant.

The previous day we had inquired about the process of procuring a walk-in table for the following day when we had a wine tasting scheduled. They recommended that we stop in before our tasting and ask to put our names down.

On the day of, we stopped in just before our tasting to do so — however since there was no wait they recommended we come back after the tasting as it wasn’t busy — easy enough.

To our dismay, when we returned after our wine tasting (average at best with relatively little attention paid to hospitality), they let us know that the waitlist (which we had been told shortly before not to worry about) was now full, and that it wouldn’t be possible to eat at the restaurant, despite following the advice that had been relayed to us from the staff on two separate occasions.

I find this a really bizarre way to treat your customers, and the only feeling I come away with from our visit is regret that we booked the tasting at all. I’ll make sure to always warn people away from Quail’s Gate in the future due to how they treat their customers — worst experience in the Okanagon so far.

This is a fact restaurant with a small menu, and above average prices, located in one of the most famous wineries in Kelowna. The expectations are high.
Me and my family has lunch here a couple of days ago to celebrate my birthday. And, unfortunately, there were a lot of mishaps.

Service: perhaps they need more servers, or more attentive servers. We ordered a bottle of wine, a server poured everyone a glass. In some time, we were fine with our first glass, and we were sitting with empty glasses for a while. Then, I got fed up and picked up the bottle to pour another glass for everyone. That very second the waitress ran up to me and said 'let me do that for you'. Well. We were ready for a while now, so it's either you are paying attention to your customers or you are letting your customers to help themselves.
There were also many opportunities where server could have checked on us to see if we needed our waters or wine glasses to be topped off (arrival of mains, removal of dishes, etc), but those opportunities were missed and glasses were left empty.
Also, some inconsistencies with the service and utensils - server had brought clean utensils for the main course for everyone, but me. I was left with a dirty knife.

Food quality: for the most part food was good, however, for salmon main course - some potatoes were nicely cooked and soft inside, but most of potatoes were severely undercooked and plain crunchy.

Overall, this is not the experience one may expect for that level of the restaurant.

My partner and I with his parents visited this beautiful place last night and experience with food and restaurant service was amazing Food 10/10 service 10/10 location 11/10 stunning place with amazing view! The dish I ordered was a shredded pork with escalopes jus wow! Big shout out to Kelly she amazed us with the knowledge she had. Highly recommend ️

Place is amazing! The views are really breathtaking. Pity they use plastic glasses for the wine even if you politely ask them for glass ones. Charcuterie boards are nice, they could put some more food. As an Italian I'm fussy about these things, sorry guys️️

We had a fantastic experience. Diane was so lovely and knowledgeable, we had a blast tasting wines with her. The lunch at the restaurant was delicious and the views are stunning. A must stop in Kelowna.

Came for a wine tasting and had such a wonderful experience with a wine connoisseur named Lark. She truly knew her wine and figured out which wines we might like and brought us those to try. Thankful for the wonderful experience.

Thought it was kind of funny to see the manager wearing blundstones on a hot day. Lol? 2 stars for the blundstones. And 5 stars for Lark. ️

Dinner here with my wife and friend. Been years since my last visit. Our server, Brett was the ultimate professional. Friendly and prompt, also accommodating. We ordered 2 appetizers, a half bottle of gewurtz, 3 main dishes for each of us and the suggested wine pairing for my risotto. Dinner was a wonderful experience. Great ambiance though there were a few loud, slightly inebriated dinner guests nearby whose voices carried throughout the entire place. Nevertheless, enjoyed the meal and definitely a must for when you’re in the Kelowna area.

This a good place to go to relax and drink some great tasting wine.the view is amazing! I can stay there the whole day just to savour the beauty of the area. The staff are great, unfortunately we arent able to get in due to some covid restrictions that day plus heat wave! However, they are still very accomodating to let people stay, sit, relax while looking at d amzing view. They do have a small market and a dining area where u can grab a newly baked pizza and coffee too!

We are group of four and had a wine testing here with Mr. Herb. Mr. Herb is knowledgeable with the wines and we surely enjoyed his company. After the tasting we bought couple more bottles and went to their picnic tables and spend most of the time there. Overall, it was a great experience here. We will try the restaurant next when we come back.

We had not pre booked a tasting, but were told by the concierge to go to the store look around for 1/2hr and to come back at noon for a first come first serve basis. We had done what she suggested but when we came back different concierge welcomed us and suggested that we book or come back in another hour and a half.
We weren't able to book using the ap so my wife asked her to book one for us. She told us they didn't have that capability. Miraculously in those couple minutes there was room for us. Very pleasurable once passed the flustered concierge! Server was fantastic! This could have been a 5 star experience.

Was there for a snack. Had the scallop crudo appy and steamed mussels. Both were good. Finished with the chocolate tahani mouse which was also good but more like a cake. Small portions. Great service. Wonderful spot.

This is one of the best wineries in the okanagan. The wine is great (the foche is the best I've had here) and the food in the restaurant and service is remarkable. Well run establishment and the wine tasting is superb as the servers really have a deep knowledge of the craft.

My husband and I know nothing about wine, but the scenery was beautiful and the service from Lark was outstanding! She really taught us a lot about how to taste wine and was very friendly and knowledgeable. We had a great time and would highly recommend Quails Gate!

Went here for a special dinner with my wife, had mentioned before to staff. Every table except ours had a candle light. Waited 45 mins for our food and the steak was very chewy. Overall food was subpar. Would not recommend

I generally have a pretty good experiences while visiting Quails Gate and the Old Vines restaurant. I can easily look past certain issues as I understand that it is covid times and the time I visited was during a heatwave. I had made reservations two months prior knowing how early the restaurant books up, by doing so I was able to get a 7: 30 reservation of two tables of 6 to accomodate my sisters family and my own. Long experience short, we were called in less then 24 hours before our reservations to be let known that they were canceling our reservation due to the severe heatwave, causing the closure of their patio. Understandably, it was not good conditions for servers to work nor would it be good condition for diners to dine. Though after being left the voicemail informing us, I followed up by calling back to be told that they had no room inside the dining room to accomodate us and that they are tending to their reservations starting for the oldest booked. I then mentioned that we booked our reservations about two months ago (I understand there could have been reservations before us but by the time slot and party size we had, I find it hard to believe we weren't one of the very first few to book) and the hostess was a bit frazzled and advised I called the manager instead. Therefore I did and left a voicemail to only never to be returned. Called again the next day to only be hung up on. My issue here isn't that we were not able to dine here, but more so the lack of professionalism and the feeling left as if they could careless. I see a lot of "we hold ourselves to a high level of service" in a lot of the poorer reviews. That is what I would say was not done in this situation and by reading some of the other reviews, seems I am not the only one.
