Service at the till was so slow and the check out lady couldn't stop yaking about retiring.

Early shopping for the infirm and seniors during Covid. Great produce, sushi, bakery and meats. Their Chinese food is also very good, a go to in a desert of Chinese food.

Usually love the Chinese food at Quality Foods. Got a Supreme Combo on Sunday to take home to Chemainus. The chow mein was good, I have always like their chow mein, the boneless sweet and sour was OK, large chunks of dense pork, not my favourite, and the chicken wings were OK. But the Beef Chop Suey was another story. Large, slimy slices of beef, tough, tasteless and icky mouth feel, along with seriously overcooked vegetables. Won't be getting that again. I seriously suggest they take a good look at that dish.

Beautiful coffee shop upstairs.
Had lunch a croissant cheese n ham tomatoe sandwich and cappucino.the lady server was, especially friendly.
Great place to sit n relax, enjoy something among beautiful house decor.

Pathetic people, I'm glad I don't come here anymore. I blame the managers, it hasn't been this bad since before 2009.

I haven't decided what I like best about this store: great staff, quality selection, or good prices.

This is my grocery store in this town, you can always count on it for being open and clean with good products

2022 update.still selling alot of expired/best before products! And at ridiculous prices. Be weary of what's on "sale" usually expired or about to be. I have bought stuff that was over a YEAR expired! I know it's my job to look at the dates but come on, should be able to trust this expensive grocery store to turn products over more frequently.

Pricey. I dont do my regular grocery hauls here because it's too expensive but it's close by so i run here for meat mostly, and some local products that are harder to find other places. Good deals on meat. Clean store, great staff. One thing that I noticed often is expired products being sold, or very close. I need to look at dates more obviously but I have brought several items back that have been expired.

Although this store is close to my vacation property I often avoid it as it takes so long to pay for things. There is no express line or self check-out.
Also the staff knowledge is very poor. No one seems to know what fresh mozzarella is or what other 'specialty' foods are.
My real issue is with stale dated for on the shelves and other food poorly stored and sold despite it being rotten.
Not having enough staff with knowledge is one thing but not having enough staff to keep veggies fresh is another.
This store and franchise really needs to up it's game.

Everytime i go to grab portofino buns they are always lying flat on very top shelf. Very hard to reach. Apparently you people think everyone is 6 foot 6. Thriftys much more accessible, will have to start going there if it continues.

I was shopping in the store yesterday, and helped at every turn, questions, directions and checkout. The people working late yesterday were, pleasant, helpful and left me feeling glad to have the opportunity to shop here.

It has good section of food but just too expensive to purchase vegetables, dairy, meat, drinks etc.

Grew up there years ago and has all the main stores in it other than Walmart and superstore lol

I love the produce this store has. I don't love how high the prices have gotten lately. I am willing to pay more for better quality produce but not twice as much as other places. My most recent experience could have received a one star rating but another employee went above and beyond. I entered the store at 815 pm. The store closes at 9pm. I only need a few things. I went to the deli at 820pm and asked for some sandwich meat and was told that I was too late because everything was cleaned up. I then went straight to the till and asked the two cashiers what time the deli closed because I was refused service. One of the cashiers said that I absolutely should not have been refused service when the store was open another 40 minutes. She asked what it was I wanted I went to the deli to get it for me. I didn't get the cashiers name but I'd like to say thank you very much for your help. You didn't have to go above and beyond for me and I appreciate your effort and help.

Love the produce and some specials at quality foods. Like the end of month 5$ for 25$ meat packages.

Great home grocery store. Great location. Eatery etc is upstairs and a small restaurant downstairs. Clean, great service, abundance of products, Chinese buffet, sushi bar in cold area. See you soon

Really need to do a deep cleaning of the fish department. There should be no smell and thats not the case. I won't purchase anything from that depth because of the fishy smell. I love the store but the fish department doesn't cut it.

No ice cream in the freezer though. Must be out of order. Got a good parking spot

I shop here often for the meat (superb quality) and bakery, not to mention awesome deli and Chinese food, they have very good priced marrow bones (treats for my pup), staff have always been great. Happy customer and would recommend.

Tired of the mislabeling of produce. Sign says BC sticker says Mexico. Sign says US / Mexico, sticker says Mexico. These are just examples of constant misleading labeling here. I have complained privately but it never changes. Just be honest. Ther is nothing wrong with importing produce but just be honest in your labeling.

Quality foods is a great store. Staff always fun and friendly. Sometimes not enough tills open and one had to watch the prices. Great little cafe. Pretty good food too!

New review: Signs posted everywhere about masks being required, but there were several maskless customers wandering around without being confronted or removed from the store. I'm very disappointed and will shop where the mask mandate is actually enforced now.

I originally bought a water bottle for the water cooler filling system here two years ago and since then the water system been broken and everytime I go there they won't refund my 18.9L water bottle. Now they keep telling me to drive to Comox when I originally bought this water and bottle here for it's convenience and location close to where I live. I shouldn't have to drive twenty minutes to pick up and fill a water bottle that they will not return as they can no longer serve their customers this brand.

Had never been to a QF before and was very impressed with the quality and selection as well as the store's layout. I wish we had these at home and not just on the island.

Always get a made-for-me salad from there and they have the local water buffalo yogurt that is Devine!

Excellent store, love the bakery, deli, chinese food, soups and early bird breakfast as well as all the specials and thier daily happy hour. Awesome bread too. Wish we had a Quality foods in Duncan

Came to town and before checking into our hotel stopped for some food. To our surprise there was a Chinese Kitchen! Wow! The food was amazing! The portions were overflowing to the point where they could barely seal the lid! Highly recommend! Sooooo goooood! Don’t over order! Lol!

It was very good.folks are keeping to the rules of distance.occasionally someone goes the wrong way in an aisle not. Big deal.it takes a bit more walking to get to various aisles.but better be safe then sorry. Lots of grocery selection here. Excellent Chinese food stands in all of their locations. Going here makes me miss having quality foods when I am in downtown Vancouver. Friendly staff. Clean store. The meats aren't as good as Costco, and the prices aren't as good as Walmart, but quality foods is still a great option when going shopping for family groceries or some snacks.

Went for a coffee upstairs. Quick efficient service and very clean. Such a nice spot for a break. Starbucks and scone did not disappoint!

Bright & clean store with a great variety of products available at reasonable prices. Their Chinese food coounter is unique to Quality foods, that I wish would be available elsewhere as it's so delicious! The customer service is friendly and helpful and cashiers serve you with a smile. Definitely will return.

Love to come for breakfast twice a week. It is a shame that the tables cannot be wiped before the morning customers arrive.

It's a pleasure shopping here. There is always lots of specials on, and I find what I need quickly and at a reasonable price. Staff is friendly and happy, and the rewards program is a great incentive.

Excellent variety of foods, drinks, processed and fresh meats, and more. Committed check-out staff, also very helpful. One of the best retail outlets I have ever been to. My sister in law purchased fresh flowers, which they trimmed, mixed and packaged within minutes. Outstanding! Thank you. Philip.

The Chinese food counter always keeps the food fresh and cooked just right. I often choose this place over take-out. The store has groceries, pharmacy, floral dept, and a high end furnishings store upstairs that has very reasonable pricing. Beautiful trinkets, ornaments and other unique tasteful furnishings.

Seen first hand corporate greed there. Went to the teller, realized I forgot my bag.was offered plastic or paper bags.thought paper would be free since it is totally sustainable and biodegradable and produces jobs in our hurting forestry division. I was informed plastic bags were 5 cents.ok. (were is the proof that the funds go to environmental protection and recycling? As well, if we pay for those bags for the corporation.they no longer have to buy them.where does that money go? Reduction of prices? Lol. Or profit?)

Exceptional Staff in the downstairs restaurant! Always going out of their way to be friendly, and fast. I might go for lunch here once a week yet they remember my name and many repeat customers names and preferred orders.

How does this place stay in business? The produce is crazy expensive! How are we to get our 10 a day with double the prices?

A great place to shop and still get an original 'Starbucks' London Fog made with Tazo Earl Grey Tea (not the awful Teavana pretender)

Always clean and well lit. Great staff with minor lines and waiting. Check out the huge deli with eat in or take away.

There is a great old fashioned breakfast available until 11: 00 am in the Bistro. Straight up eggs, toast, potatoes and choice of bacon, sausage or ham for $5 bucks. It is cooked to order and delivered to your table. It was perfect and a very good deal.

Quality foods is great grocery store. They have high end produce and meat. I love their cafe, $5 breakfast can't beat that price on a decent real breakfast. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The store is always clean and well stocked. They have wide aisles and a brightly lit environment. The only downside is that it's expensive, but as they say you get what you pay for in quality. So I recommend you buy your produce, meat etc there and your processed foods somewhere else like Walmart or superstore. However, in saying that for the cost of gas and if you're doing a small amount of groceries buy at Quality Foods. Bonus is by shopping there you're contributing to the fireworks that they put on every August.

I missed work today as I was not feeling well. I dropped into Quality Foods Courtenay while waiting for my antibiotic prescript. Fragrant lilacs drew me to the flower department. As I lifted a bunch out of the bucket, they dripped all over. One of the employees, a silver haired lady, offered to put them in plastic so they wouldn't drip. I said, "Sure, that would be great! " I detoured to the deli to have a surprisingly massive lunch special at the Chinese food section (what a deal!). When I picked up my flowers, they had been wrapped into a beautiful bouquet with butcher paper, cellophane and an ox blood red raphia ribbon. They were beautiful! It brightened my sick day. Although I looked for her to say thank you, I couldn't find her. Thank you. These small thoughtful gestures and details make all the difference.
