Amazing sculptures! My 1st visit after being on island for only 2 months. Being from Ottawa, and seeing Ice and Snow Sculptures, I could not believe my eyes! Check out the pictures I've attached.

Little bit different from when I was a kid, accessible by donation. It is located on the community beach and had food trucks all around.

We found this exhibition offensive.
One of the sculptures was saying in its description that white people are the problem. The 'so called' artist (a white woman from Amsterdam) decided to take the story of David and Goliath and replace David with a Native girl, holding the BEHEADED head of a white person, saying she took care of the problem.

This is unacceptable.

This annual event is a crowd pleaser! You can wander around the sculptures and read about the artists. Admission is by donation (they recommend $4.00) and you can vote for your favourite. The level of talent is amazing - we try to go every year. Free parking, food trucks and a beautiful beach are nearby.

Very cool! Love the setup. It was busy but not crazy. The artists that create the sculptures are clearly very talented.

This competition consistently draws artists from all over, and the sculptures defy belief. The level of detail is astounding! The recommended donation amount of $4.00 per person is too little for the quality of the works. This is an annual tradition that we are glad to have adopted!

Once you finish up with the sculptures, you have the Parksville Community Beach to enjoy - and the food trucks are a great addition to the experience!

We try to visit every summer! This summer 2019 isn't quite as impressive as in past years, but still well worth the visit.

We had a great walk on the beach at low tide. Wonderful area for getting away and connecting with nature.
