Quality Inn Downtown Inner Harbour

I and my friends wanted to thank how grateful we were to the Male receptionist who was on shift on June 18th at around 12 midnight. We came all the way from Vancouver, I and my friends were looking for a hotel in Victoria Downtown. We had already searched for 3 hotels and all were full and it was already late at night, this kind Man in Quality Inn hotel was really sorry that there were no available room for us to accommodate, BUT he never hesitated to help us and he searched for a 24 hours room for us to stay for the night. He recommended us a place where we can stay. Thank you so much sir. We might not get your name but truly your such a great help. Keep up!

I assumed most well-known chain hotels would have air conditioning, but this one does not (and the windows only open a fraction). Do not stay here in hot temps (it hit 30 degrees today and our room is unbearable). For $250 a night, I would have hoped to be a comfortable temperature.

Had a 4 night stay. Nice comfortable room, though it wasn't serviced while we were there. I guess we could have requested it. They apparently were short staffed so didn't see a need to ask. Reception staff were helpful and check in was pretty quick. Breakfast was available and though pretty basic did the job and the staff were very friendly.

To small and not well lit, staff not too very friendly but very co operative, excellent location

It's been over a week since I checked out and they still haven't refunded the $100 CAD deposit they asked for.

Super friendly and helpful staff. Great rooms for a 3 star hotel would give it a high 3 stars. Prices are good rooms are very clean. Free Coffee or Tea and bottled water on tap in Lobby. Solomon was fabulous great sense of humour I loved him when I made the reservation but even more when we checked in he made everything perfect. Good facilities easy walking distance to almost everywhere would stay again no problem.

At the front desk I was quoted $140, but then was charged $270 on my card for a 1 night stay. When I called to rectify this overcharged, they said “that’s the rate per night”.

Anyone know the parking max height requirement? Will be visiting the city tomorrow. Trying to park my f150 at parkade. Thanks

No AC in the rooms. No parking spot for customers even though you have reserved the room in advance. Pathetic wi-fi as it did not work. The hotel staff advised you to park your car in the library since there is no parking at the hotel. Don’t recommend anyone to stay here!

The library parking was also full so do you want us to park somewhere far away and then walk in the night with all the luggage with the kids?

A local hidden haunt with a couple great options to work, drink, dance and stay. The best part is that the crowd changes given the time of day.

I know is a "cheaper" Hotel but is so deficient, employees are so rude, they don't know about customer service.old and ugly

I wasn't expecting much, but I'm glad to say I was delightfully surprised. Paid underground parking only registered guests can access. Paid laundry facilities (much appreciated after several days of outdoor activities in the rain). The room was clean, comfortable, and fully equipped (mini frudge, microwave, dishware). I slept so well! Thea at the reception was lovely from the moment we arrived. We were early and wanted to drop off our luggage, but she let us check in since our room was ready. The housekeepers always smiled and said good morning. The location is perfect! An easy 10 minute walk to inner harbour/Chinatown, yet distanced enough from the hustle and bustle for some peace and quiet. #1 attraction: Functional pneumatic door arms meant no door slamming from neighbours! This will be my go to accommodations in Victoria.

Unlike some of the posts I’ve read in other places, I found the Quality Inn Downtown Inner Harbour to be clean, inviting and downright classic! The staff were very friendly and consistently making sure I was comfortable. There were some noisy men singing Irish rebel songs but we saw the hotel staff remove them from their rooms which was great to see them deal with. Slept like a baby after these songs finished. I will definitely stay there when I come back and would highly recommend to a friend!

No breakfast, had to park in unsecured area, coffee in the lobby in the morning was awful. Room was fine. Difficult for handicapped person to get up the few stairs from lobby to elevator, no ramp

I had a top quality stay at this hotel this weekend. I cant say enough good things about the staff. Comfy beds and great pillows. The night porter was also very accommodating. Cant wait to come back next year.

Stayed here at the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. There was two towels between four of us which was perfect along with the tiny bottle of shampoo that wouldn’t even wash one persons hair. As well, the lobby vending machine didn’t take coins which made my $50 in coins useless that I clocked up in cash only Sticky Wicket the night before. Would also recommend this hotel if your looking for a place that has late entertainment in the other rooms next door.

Just came back after a two night stay at the hotel. Tricia at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The room I booked on the second floor have kitchen and sink is very spacious and clean. I certified it "clean" because I wiped the bathroom floor under the sink all the way to its corners with a paper towel and found no dust. The pillows are soft but using one is too flat and two is too high for me. Some hotels would provide pillows of different thickness but that may have to come with a higher price. The firmness of the mattress are perfect. The bathroom door hinges made annoying squeaking noise. With my MacGyver skill, I put a few drops of Sunlight dish detergent on them and problem solved. The shower water pressure is a little on the low side. It's okay but you probably won't find it too relaxing after a long day outside. Room cleaning service is on demand (ie.no room cleaning everyday and you must replace your towels yourself) but I think this is the hotel trend to save costs and to be more eco-friendly as well. Daily parking fee of $12 is more than reasonable. The number of spots is limited so book your parking spot when making your reservation.
All in all, I am happy with what I paid and what I got in return.

Friendly staff, comfortably clean and affordable. Ideal Victoria nightlife location.
Only downside was having to constantly bother the night auditor to open front door.
Would be great if room keys allowed entry to lobby.

Solid hotel, with a pool. Clean rooms. The keycards need some work as it took me about 10 times each time ro unlock the door.

Pretty old hotel as you would expect. The rooms have been minimally refreshed, but still gives an old moldy feeling. The doors are so thin you can literally hear everything happening in the hallways. There was also an air vent above the door that was loud 24/7. The beds and pillows are so soft it's almost flat. But the staff are nice and good covid protocols, many sanitizing stands around. Relatively central downtown, it's okay for what you pay for. Don't expect much.

Front desk staff were friendly and rooms were clean, however they are very dated and definitely in need of a facelift. Bathtub tap dripped the entire time and wouldn't stop, and when a nearby suite used the bathroom our sink made very loud gurgling noises. Bathroom was very small, not a lot of room to get ready and had to watch where I was standing to close the door without hitting the toilet. Shower head was mounted too low, even for me at 5'6", so I had to lean back to rinse my hair. Remote for TV either had very low batteries or was worn out because it only registered commands about every 5 presses. Bed was not the best in terms of comfort, felt like an old spring mattress, and also creaked quite loudly which disturbed my partner as I turned in the night. We got the suite that all we could see was mechanical equipment on a roof area. There were just a lot of things that added up for a pretty disappointing experience. Staff did a good job, but with the overall state of the building I probably wouldn't stay again unless they did some serious renovations.

Really loud. Good price good service but wished I looked up the area first. Verry loud untill 330 am. Good for a young crowd.

Nice room. Clean. Beware.they are "DOG friendly". Not "pet friendly". This is very misleading. Luckily we had family we could leave our cat with.

Main room was ok but the bathroom was DISCUSSING! There was random hair everywhere on the floor and some kind of black liquid on the floor beside the toilet. Also the hallways had and odd smell.

This place was average, rooms are average, batbrooms small. Its pool was broken, no coffee in the rooms and an overpriced breakfast menu. The complimentary coffee from the front desk was old and stale. Its convenient location but definitely not a 4.8 star rating hotel. The front desk staff seems burned out and unhappy. As well, parking is first come, first serve. We had a 9.00 charge for parking on our bill.

It was DIRTY! When I went to go take a shower my bar of soap had no wrapper and there was dirt on it like someone had used it. Moved the shower curtain and there was a bunch of hair all dried up and stuck to the corner of the tub. Also when asked when the pool was opened until the first front desk agent said 11pm so we booked for 9: 30 then later I went to get towels the agent said it closes at 10? ! We rented 4 rooms and they all had stuff in the room that showed how badly the rooms are cleaned.

No in room coffee. No air conditioning. Single-pain glass windows very loud disrupted sleep. No gym or accommodation due to COVID-19. Limited parking. Overpriced rooms and a Victoria tax?

Friendly, efficient clerks and staff. Clean comfortable room, fully equipped kitchenette. Had a nice courtyard view. Conveniently located - close to everything downtown has to offer.

The room smelled like masked smoke, no air conditioning, and towels and toiletries for one person when we booked for four.

I was stayed in this hotel many times. Ama on the front desk is super good in respecting customers and fulfil all your requirements professionally. Prices are reasonable. Highly recommended

Best service ever. Check in time was 3 pm but somehow I arrived earlier and they allow me to check in before the time without any charge. And the lady named victoria on the front desk was very nice

The location was quite convenient, the beds were comfortable but this place needs some work when it comes down to retrieving belongings! I have never in my whole life had to call somewhere so many times for something simple. I left behind my school books and the housekeeping department are never available. I am disgusted because more than just the housekeeping should be allowed to access items from rooms. I called over 15 times, still calling, so frustrating! If you are a woman staying on your own, there was a lot of really sketchy stuff going on within the hotels range. I was out the front having a cigarette and a red dodge car or possibly camero went past me 3 times every time they got closer too. My next night I also experienced the same thing. I know a lot of women are very vulnerable in Victoria as so many women have been reported missing recently, and I was incredibly scared I had to run into the hotel the 3rd time they passsed me. There was no one at the front desk and honestly, the security is very limited. I did not feel safe at all! Will never stay somewhere like this again! Vulnerable and frustrated! Junkies walking around everywhere too! If 0 was an option I would give it a zero. I talked to people after staying here and I heard this is where the hookers go, due to the lack of security I guess. Really gross but hey, its covid! The hotel is probably struggling and won’t change their ways! I am now so behind with my schooling as I could not access something very simple, if the hotel management reaches out to me I would love to speak about my experience, not holding my breathe tho.

Good place to stay with best being excellent staff, great location, underground parking and an outdoor patio / dining area. Whirlpool spa didn’t work, charge for parking, no coffee machine in room and pool / sauna closed due to covid.

Excellent management. Comfy rooms. We got there in the evening along with a snowstorm. The night manager on the weekend was super friendly. Our car got stuck on some ice entering the parking lot and the manager was quick to arrive with a bucket of salt and shovel. He dug the snow out for us! All in all made us feel welcome. I didnt get the managers name but all our commendations go to him. I will be sure to book another room here again just to say thanks to the nice manager.

Lovely staff who made the stay super easy and pain free! Lovely manager, tidy rooms, great parking, and easy location right downtown.

2 year old daughter had to pee and they would not let us use the facilities because we were not guests. Terrible service, definitely won’t be guests in the future because of this one experience. We would have been happy to sanitize the washroom ourselves after using it.

Had a great weekend staying here. Shower had good water pressure and the beds were comfy. The key cards took a few tries but all in all a great experience

Well located. Be aware, no air conditioning so rooms can get stuffy in the summer. Also poor curtains, so if you want to sleep in bring eye shades.

Good sized room, comfy beds. We had a room with a kitchenette.fairly well equipped with a good sized fridge and a microwave as well as a small hob. Mostly unused apart from the fridge! There is a small pool and gym on the basement level. Car parking is under the hotel in a secure area.but fairly tight spaces, reasonable charges though. Restaurant and bar on the premises but under separate management. Can recommend the spring rolls as an appetiser. Laundrette on site.powder available from reception. Hotel is located near the harbour within easy walking distance of shops, bars and restaurants. Would certainly stay again. Good value for money.

The pool was closed for maintenance our first day here. It opened and was very warm. Quite small and it's in the basement. The hotel is walking distance to the wharf and the downtown sights. And for that, it is very expensive for the quality and service you receive.

Acceptable cleanliness, bar fridge only where u stayed, prices keep hiking up. Hoping they'll return to more reasonable prices for local travellers again.

Comfy bed, sizable room, great location. The walls are a bit thin, so you can hear some of the other guests if they’re being really loud, but overall great place to stay.

Not fancy but clean and a great location. Has pet friendly rooms, underground parking and all kinds of pubs and restaurants near by. Parliament buildings 1.5 blocks away.

Excellent stay. Location was perfect. First floor room was a bit to close to road. Next time a room in the back would be better.

Lisa at the front desk was fabulous! She gave us some great tips for Whale Watching tours. We were torn about which company to select and she helped us decide. We actually saw whales, although there was a no whale guarantee. We had a great time! Thank you.

It was the dirtiest and unhygienic room. We planned to stay for 2 nights and complain about the room condition to reception and showed him the picture of kitchen condition as i had to cook the food for my kids. Instead of getting any help he just said yes the room should not be like this but i cant do anything about it

Comfy beds, relatively clean, friendly staff and prime location. I would definitely recommend this place for a short term visit to Victoria!

The staff is phenomenal, start off with Kent the front desk person, Our ferry got canceled on 12/26 in Anacortes so significant other called canceled our room as we weren't sure if we were going to make it to beautiful Victoria, well we decided to go for it drove up north and ferried over to swartz's bay. On our way up north the other half called and talked with Kent again, and he reinstated our room, he was awsome, then we get here and julian checked us in and was just as helpful. These two guys need to be recognized for going above and beyond there duty. Highly recommended very nice rooms.

Well-maintained, reasonably-priced, and centrally located - everything we needed in our hotel! I've docked a point because the steam room was out of order - maybe it will be up and running next time! ;)

Got the king bed room. Thermostat was broken. Elevator is super slow. Could here people in hallway when every they walked by. Bathtub faucet knob was super loose, almost falling off. This made it difficult to adjust water. Pillows were all super soft, but I like a mixture so was not pleased by that. Cost me $149 and was not as good as a hotel a stayed in the night before in courtenay that was $67 (winter rates. Has a good location as there in plenty to access within a few blocks.

Great ordinary hotel, rooms were very clean and staff friendly. The Argyle restaurant was great, really enjoyed the breakfast and the staff and the canadiana decor. I have to stay over next month and I will staying here again. Thanks.

The room was very clean. Everyone that worked there was very friendly. The restaurant was a cute little place. My parents have been there a few times. I would go again myself. It's right downtown so nice and in the middle of things. The rooms block out the noise well though if the windows are shut.

Great place to stay for reasonable rate. Sad that the sauna wasn't up and running but the pool did the trick for the kids! Staff was awesome. Beds were comfy. Can't complain.

We booked a package deal - BC Ferries/Hotel. Upon arrival, it was very limited parking - for check in. We were ok with this, as this is downtown Victoria. It would have been nice to have had assistance with all our luggage. This is a pet friendly hotel, so we brought our large carrier for our dog, a large cooler of food and our luggage. The underground parking is super tight. We had to locate a luggage carrier - which we finally found also on the parking level beside the elevator. We had to drag it out through a narrow door - to the underground parking, load everything up from our vehicle, back through the same narrow door and into a small elevator, which could barely fit the luggage carrier, the two of us and our dog. Our room.was disappointing. The room is outdated, had an odd smell, the windows could have used some window cleaning. Again, we said, its ok, we can live with this for a few days. There were 2 things that were not acceptable - being put in a room that is so close to the laundry facilities - we could hear the machines going and going and going. The 2nd issue - which angers us the most - why would a hotel think to paint in the hallway - in the morning - when people are checking out? Our dog had wet -white paint - on her ear. We had to take her to the groomers as soon as we got home and have it removed, at a cost of $100. Thanks for tha t additional cost. Oh - and thanks for the same service on checking out - same ordeal, us dragging the luggage carrier up to our room and dragging it back down to the underground parking. See you - never.

We stayed at the Inn for 3 days and 2 nights, and were very pleased with our stay. The location is absolutely perfect, especially if you will be going out on small excursions or day trips. It feels like everything is so close, nearly everything was within walking distance. We made our reservation using Interval points, and the transition between "currencies" was quick and simple. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. The room was surprisingly spacious and very clean. Nothing too fancy but it more than did the job. Parking with in-and-out privileges was a godsend, especially on our last day. Since the hotel is in such a central location, we didn't really need the car for anything. We were able to leave it in the lot and still kept access to it, even after checking out.

Close to down town but dirty rooms. Found chunks of toast.yes toast on the floor. Hair in the sink not cleaned properly. Ok maybe a bad day for the cleaning staff? Front desk girl full of additude and clearly doesn’t get the (be nice to the customers and smile memo).

The lack of housekeeping and cranky front desk is one thing but this place has no AC as well so its a sweat box. They don’t mention these faults but you soon learn when you can’t sleep in a 32 degree room.

There are far better options than this.

The girl that booked us in was extremely rude and unprofessional. There is a sign at the front desk that said to enjoy your complementary breakfast when we asked the next morning they said they didn’t offer a complementary breakfast THANKS FOR THE FALSE ADVERTISING. The air conditioning in the room was not working when we phone down to the office they said it was central air but it was too hot in the room. The TV was not working properly we phoned down to the office and they sent someone to fix it. When we came back later it wasn’t working again. This is by far the worst experience ever in a hotel room. I expect more from Choice Hotels?

Had a great experience over the weekend. I had a reservation at a b & b for my anniversary and they had messed up my reservation. I went to quality Inn and they were so friendly and accommodating. The clerk even gave us a 15% discount and a suite because of our experience at the b & b as she knew how disappointed I was. The room was clean and spacious. It didn't have ac, which was unfortunate as it was a really hot weekend. The walls are thin, so noise travels easily. They had a printer available to guests, which we used. Super handy! The pub attached was surprisingly very tasty. Small and quaint, made me feel like I were in London. They allowed me to extend my parking beyond our check out time so that we could continue touring the city.
