Queens Hotel

The room is small, there is no in room coffee and it’s a walk up. But, the hotel is very clean, quiet and the staff is super friendly. Love the free bananas every morning, free popcorn. We would stay here again, this is a hidden gem on a very quiet street, and Starbucks is 2 minutes away.

We enjoyed our 3 night stay at the Queens Hotel. All the positive reviews are spot on. It's super close & convenient to the ferries, Whiterock & the outlet shopping mall. The coffee machine makes a decent Americano but bring loonies, toonies, & quarters. The free fresh fruit & snacks is greatly appreciated. The bed is extremely comfortable. The bathroom is a bit tight but the shower makes up for it. There's great covered space for smokers. The staff were all friendly, helpful, & patient.
We will definitely stay again. A big thanks!

Great experience. The owner is so helpful and wonderful and was very knowledgeable. The location of the hotel is very close to public transit and a really amazing bakery, Indian restaurant and a convenience store close by!

I stay here for conferences in New Westminster; I like the low key neighbourhood feel and the staff are super friendly. It's clean, air conditioned, with an interesting interior design. Last time i was there I was very sick from food poisoning (ferry!) and the staff took good care of me. I will stay here again.

This place was great. A little unconventional about entrance being in a strip mall but you move to the back where parking is and it's all the same. I don’t know why there are bad reviews on here. The check in was fine. The people were nice. There are instructions everywhere on what to do. Very communicable. Room was fine. Portable Ac was great. Would stay here again. No elevator but it wasn't awful to bring our stuff up the stairs. Loved my bananas every morning.

Staff was great, rooms are okay, bed was nice and comfy. For thumbs down, they need to clean the stand up fan blades. Hoping it was missed for start of season, I would of cleaned it but no tools to get cover off. Was happy they offered a cooling machine and fan. They have nibbles for free at desi also bottle water in room fridge. Thank. You

Was very clean. Small room (twin room) but comfy bed. Surprisingly quiet location on 2nd floor. Plenty of Uber rides in area to get around. Friendly staff. Had to work the blind around the A/C vent to fully cover window but would stay again.

The room was exactly what we needed for a one night stay!
The staff was super friendly and helpful! The only down side is that the room was very small, if you needed to spend some time in there it would have been tight! Online booking did not really show size of room BUT we stayed after a concert so really just had a good night's sleep and we were out!

Didn't realize all rooms were on the 2nd floor and no elevator! The mattress was lumpy and worn. After paying in advance you actually charged me a deposit incase of damages. I am used to having a credit card on file in case, but not paying 50% in addition to the bill and having to wait days to get my $$ back. The staff was helpful and nice.

Cons: The bathroom had no place to hang or put change of clothes. There was no elevator to go to the second floor which made it hard on people with weak knees and not handicap accessible. The hotel is located within one to two blocks of what appears to be where homeless people gathered. The windows cannot be locked.
Pros: The staff was friendly. There was a microwave oven in the room. There were complementary snacks/bananas and hot and cold water.

I stayed for 7 days on business and pleasure. I found the staff very polite and respectful. The room I was on was cozy and clean. Only problem the portable aircon cut off in the middle of the night (one night) and I have to wait until the morning before I could get someone to have a look and fix the problem.

Room was small but very clean and comfortable. Staff very helpful. A few food options less than a block way. I went for sushi and it was excellent.

I love this little boutique hotel. The room was clean and quiet with modern amenities, the bed was comfy with lots of pillows. The bathroom was completely renovated. There was complimentary water in the fridge and a microwave in the room. Fruit, protein bars, yummy popcorn, , tea and coffee in the lobby. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. I definitely recommend this little gem.

Good little place for a spot to sleep with great service. Beds were a little soft for my liking but I'm nit-picking. It is pet friendly so be aware of that's an issue for you.

This hotel is a hidden gem. For a 2-star, you won't be disappointed! Clean and kitschy, with cool vintage features like a bunch of clocks, anime art and new west historical photography donated by the local library. Solid hotel tv channels and comfy beds. Steps from a quiet g****o seawall with a truly breathtaking view of the lower mainland across the river- the likes of which would be absolutely crowded with people in downtown Vancouver or even new west pier. And free snacks! Some stuff like the vending machine/coffee out of service on my stay. Come and go as you like and kind customer service.

Love this hotel! Staff is super kind and generous. I stayed several times here because they accept my dog. They provide a dog bed if asked. Rooms are very clean (even under the bed!). I found my room quiet and slept excellent. Microwave was in my room and truly appreciated. I love their face clothes, just the right gentle roughness for a squeaky clean skin. Breakfast snacks and tea provided for free. Coffee is inexpensive. A hotel worth the price. Location great for it is quick to get to Vancouver or the freeway going east.

Very unique place, clean room with easy parking around back friendly helpful staff. Only one drawback is there isn't a elevator but it is only one story with two flights of stairs and one landing in between.

Not good for people who can't climb stairs-three flights of stairs. No coffee in room, but only downstairs. They had some nice snacks and fresh fruit free of charge. Our room was clean, washroom very clean, kingsize bed comfortable. A few restaurants nearby, but not the food we enjoy. Quiet area at least the one night for us. Heard one little bark likely a small dog. Workers are very helpful and pleasant.

I stayed in the hotel twice and both time my experience were great. Very friendly and helpful staff, nice and clean room with portable AC. Quiet location with easy parking and free access to next door gym for guests who staying at the hotel too. I definitely with come back.

All good, friendly and helpful service, clean room, the drinks station is great. Our only small complain is it was a hot night and the cooling fan didn’t keep room cool. Even with the windows opened.

Inadvertently booked without letting them know we had a pet. While not enough rooms that were pet friendly, they made it work and we had a place to sleep. Top notch customer service!

Small rooms (bit no complaints because really why do you need a huge room anyway?) But very clean and well appointed. Free snacks in the lobby. No 24/7 front desk fyi. Easy check in and out and free parking. No a/c in our room and complimentary shampoo but no conditioner. Would definitely stay again.

There aren’t any other hotels within 30 minutes of the city for this price with these amenities. The hotel smells great when you first walk in. There are only a couple dozen rooms in the entire hotel. Free parking in the back. You can also use the gym next door for free. After midnight, there is no concierge and the doors are locked with a special code that they change every two weeks. Staff are extremely friendly and nice. Of course it is not a 5 star hotel but for the price and location in comparison to other hotels in the city, this is a great deal.

Clean room, comfy bed, room has microwave, small fridge and portable AC, all working great. Room is a little small, but fine for us given the reasonable price. Hotel offers complimentary tea bags, snacks, and hot/cold distilled water at the lobby. Staff was nice and friendly. Main entrance uses a security code for guests only. Great location, with coffee shop, fitness center, spa and bus stops right next door. Couldn't give five star because the toilet got clogged one day but the staff came to fix it right away and it was never a problem again.

Do not stay at this horrible place. NO AIR CONDITIONING. I cannot understand the good reviews. This place is ancient and the rooms are tiny and clearly old.
***Checked in when it was 30 degrees outside. Go to drop my mom in her room to make sure it’s ok and we discover there is no air conditioning. We go to the front desk and their response appeared pleased that they had fooled another person into booking their hotel. They clearly were prepared with lines such as, ‘we didn’t lie, and promptly tried to point out the absence of air conditioning on their Expedia page after mentioning I was welcome to call Expedia to complain about the lack of ac. He continued to escalate by repeatedly making comments such as it’s not normal to assume a place has ac, and if I had booked over the phone, I would have known, and for the price I was paying (>$270/night), I shouldn’t expect ac as this isn’t the Sheraton. Rather than acknowledging that it’s a heat wave and it’s reasonable to expect a hotel to have AC he just made smug comment after smug comment. There’s also no elevator. After I mentioned I would leave a bad review, all of sudden his demeanor changed and he suddenly tried to be a reasonable person. The room looks nothing like the pictures and there is only enough room to barely walk around the bed. What a total nightmare. The staff were clearly happy to have fooled people by not making it clearly known that this hotel doesn’t have basic amenities. My mom later told me that the hot water is blocked in the shower, aka you can’t take a proper hot shower (obviously not in this heat) if you wanted to as the tap is blocked from being moved into the position to heat up

Lovely little place for a fair price. The location is a little out of the way and not near any major attractions, however this really wasn't an issue during our stay. The rooms are quite small and similarly the bed for two was also a little on the smaller side. The rooms were well kept and clean; in general the location is well kept and quite pleasant.

I'm not a customer but even afterhours when I knocked to request a barf bag to drive an unfortunate friend home (else risk him making a mess of my car), the kindly gent at the front desk opened the door and was happy to assist us. Seems like a quality establishment managed by compassionate people

Room was as advertised. Very friendly staff at front desk. Room was clean and although small, had everything we needed, including microwave and small fridge. Compared to other hotels in Vancouver area, this was excellent value.

A little bit tricky to find, however we found the hotel and was greeted by very friendly staff. There were snacks at the front which was a nice touch. The room we stayed in had a double bed, wall hooks, tv, fridge, and microwave. No closet space however we were only there for the night as BC Ferries cancelled our sail and we were stranded in Vancouver overnight. I was glad to have booked this hotel on the same day at a decent price (just over $200). The room was a bit hot despite the fans and open windows, but that’s also part of the summer weather. I am taking 1 star off for the lack for Air Conditioning as the heat made a big difference in our quality of sleep after a stressful day. Instead of getting out at 8am, we ended up leaving to drive to Tsawwassen at 4am because we couldn’t sleep. Overall we had a bed, bathroom, and fridge which was just the basics we needed for the night.

I have a hard time understanding the good ratings. We have spent 1 night in a very tiny room and a corresponding tiny bed. No elevator, no help offered, no breakfast. Very noisy sourrounding. Over 200 CAD per night is not a fair rate. Only good thing: very clean.

I made a big mistake booking through an app after midnight, thinking the reservation was immediate and not the next day. Even though I neglected to pay the insurance on the booking, Queen’s Hotel cancelled my reservation and I got to keep my money. I thank them for their kindness

It was amazing stay here in this hotel I definitely appreciate each staff member here. I would definitely book again with this hotel in my next trip and also locality is best for Indians too as it has 1 minute walk restaurants etc.

At the end i would say don’t think if you have to book an hotel just go for it

We were very pleased with our stay of nine days at Queens. The hotel and rooms were very clean and all the staff were extremely helpful. The hotel was located in a very quiet neighborhood within access to restaurants of all types, and public transit which enabled us to reach Vancouver and other areas within minutes.

Fantastic staff and a very cozy environment! Although the rooms are smaller than a conventional Hotel, they are well appointed, decorated and clean! I will definitely return!

Says 138.00 but ended up being $306.00 for 1 night. I love how they had snacks an teas by the office. The room had an a/c but no hose to put out the window. The beds are old because me an my aunt were hanging off the corners of each side of the bed because of the indents in the beds. So had a weird sleep. But over all the workers were very nice and respectful. My aunt said we were staying another day and she thought they would just take the money off her card again so we chilled in the room an we left for dinner an that's when they asked for the money lol I was happy that they trusted us instead of banging on the door an just let us sleep till we come down.

I missed the detail that check in closes at midnight. By the time my flight landed I was panicked I’d need to find somewhere else to stay at 1: 30 in the morning but they got me all checked in virtually into a clean and comfortable room so I am very grateful and impressed with their customer service!

I would rate 3 cos it's Affordable place and friendly staff. But don't get tricked by seeing 2 beds, we were 4 and booked the room with 2 beds. The room is so conjusted that when we placed a suitcase in front of bed, we couldn't find place to walk. We paid 10$ extra per each per each extra person, if they had told that the rooms wouldn't be that big to accommodate 4, we would've booked different hotel. We did the same 4 people booking in Holiday Inn with around same price range but the room was more than sufficient, also don't expect free breakfast in this hotel.
This place is good for 2 only I guess, and would prefer only if the stay is short or if it's an unplanned trip. If it's a planned trip, I think it's better to find other places than this.
