I am truly dissatisfied with my overall experience. What initially started as a call for a minor leak from the circulation pump resulted in us being without heat for over a month and a half. It took the technicians more than 12 visits to finally restore heat, and throughout the interaction, I observed several questionable practices. Although it's not feasible to cover every detail, I've highlighted the major points below.

The initial technician dispatched merely turned off the water and awaited the arrival of the head technician, stating that he didn't know how to handle the situation.

They installed a circulating pump that had been lying in their van, even informing my tenant that "this will probably not work, and we will likely need to return. " I'll let you be the judge of that.

There was a complete lack of concern for the customer. I had a technician literally argue with me, insisting that we had heat downstairs and not upstairs, despite our repeated assertions that we had no heat throughout the house.

The technicians displayed a lack of proper diagnostic practices. They incorrectly assumed that the heating issue was due to malfunctioning thermostats, despite my pointing out that it's improbable for seven thermostats to fail simultaneously. Moreover, I suggested they could easily test a thermostat's functionality with a multimeter.

Following the first visit, the technician mentioned that air vents could have been added to the line while the system was down and drained, incurring only minor additional costs. I fail to comprehend why they didn't inquire about this option while they were already working on the system and waited until they were leaving to mention it.

Attached below is an accompanying image following a service costing $1200, revealing leakage issues in their work.
Total expenses to reinstate heating following the initial leak's invoice amount to $4800.

While the individuals involved were polite, the quality of work was subpar.

R&B Plumbing designed and installed they hydronic heating system and all plumbing in my new home. We have never had a single problem related to their workmanship. Fast forward 7 years later I still call on them to keep everything running in top shape and any other plumbing needs. A Special thank you to Malcolm for his expertise in troubleshooting our boiler system and the R & B team for quickly responding last week. If you are looking for a professional, reliable company, I highly recommend R & B Plumbing.

Insane prices and underskilled worker. We had someone from R&B come over to check out our boiler, which they were not able to fix and instead suggested us to get a new boiler for 12k. We decided to consult with another worker who's not from R&B, and the worker was able to fix the problem within half an hour for 200 dollars, while R&B charged us 500 for not even doing anything.

Scott from R&B, did a fantastic job on my residential ERV system. Replacing a faulty fan. Work was carried out efficiently and fast. I would have no hesitation in hiring R&B, or Scott again. Great work!:)

Very professional - both with respect to providing estimates and advice prior to the installation of our new water heater (Sally at the office), and also with the installation itself (Sam). Sam was courteous, professional, on time, and cleaned up after the job was completed. Would definitely recommend R & B Plumbing!

Today, my furnace was serviced by Byron who arrived early for the appointment which was a wonderful surprise because too often service providers promise specific times and are late or don’t call to provide an update. As soon as I met Byron at the door I was immediately struck by his appealing personality and professional demeanour.
Upon finishing the task he explained the condition of the furnace leaving me feeling confident that all be well until this time next year when another inspection would be prudent.

We’ve used R&B for years and really like the work they do. We like that they are local. On our last service Tony did an excellent job for us.

First of all I have to say never trust R&B Plumbing company. Extremely rude and unethical customer service and phone receptionist. They charge over rate and over price, can't finish a job and on top of that they will create more issues and problems to your house.

On October 4th, 2023 I contacted R&B Plumbing and Heating company to report a flood happening to my rental property in basement. The phone receptionist Justin answered and the first thing he asked for was for my credit card, because money is the only thing they care for. No good service no ethics!

Since it was a rental property and I as a landlord I am responsible I gave my credit card info to Justine (never do that! I ended up getting charged for stuff I never asked for.

Justine informed me they are booked up for the day so they need to charge me for emergency rate which again I made a huge mistake and didn't questioned him why! He said a plumber will be there between 4: 00

to 6: 00 well they didn't show up and whenever I tried to contact the office I didn't receive any response The plumber finally showed up at 7: 30,2 hours and a half after promised time for a flood! They immediately charged my credit card for $570 for an unfinished job!

According to my tenant who is a very reliable and honest person the two plumbers didn't know what they were doing and they were very lazy and lame they spend some time and couldn't fixe the issue. Then they broke their snake in the drain and left the property and said they need to bring and excavator to remove the broken tool they broke in my drain.

October 5th Justine calls and in a very rude manner said they need to send and excavator company and I said no way! I am not agreeing to excavator since they untrained plumbers broke something and I don't
need excavator estimator. Justin ignored me and send an estimator charged my credit card for $966.42!

I call the R&B, again very rude response from them. They said they will send someone on October 10th. So the flood is going on the pipe is clogged and they tell me to wait another 4 days, when they already charged me three time more than what usually costs,

If you are reading this review to yourself a favour and do not contact this company, staff rude and impolite, plumbers do not know what they are
doing and they charge you way too much!

I have had to lean on R&B three times now for a finicky older house. They are responsive in an emergency and Sam, in particular, is highly knowledgeable about the entire range of plumbing issues. Additionally, he is exceptional about explaining issues and treatment in a straightforward manner. I would highly recommend R&B for any plumbing work. They are economical and highly professional. But for R&B plumbing, I would be waist deep in.everything.

Helpful and informative, showed up on time and worked quickly to resolve my issue.
Antoine was great and friendly, would recommend their service to anyone.

I recently completed a two-week work placement with R&B and I can positively say the whole team is terrific. Malcolm (Foreman) and Will (Senior HVAC technician) are masters when it comes to all things heat pumps, refrigeration, boilers, furnaces, and plumbing. Mechanical installations are done to the highest standard and the customer is always kept in the loop throughout the process. If you’re on the north shore and in need of plumbing/heating services, I recommend going with R&B.

Tankless water heater installation following our 12 yr old h/w tank warmed it’s last drop. Great work by Sam and Trevor to remove the old and install the new.

I just wanted to say that William is just fanastic and he is our man that we call to do anything around the house plumbing gas air conditioning … lately our air conditioning has been acting up was not cooling and Will found the leak inside the air con and saved us from getting a new unit …. Justin is soooo efficient as soon as we call he is on it to book Will for us …. Best customer service

These are my go to guys for plumbing. Chris recently attended and fixed a faucet issue with zero problems, and Justin in the office is a pleasure to deal with.

The technicians were very friendly and got down to work promptly. It was a very good service call from my perspective.

We appreciated Chris being flexible to help us with a couple projects we needed to coordinate for our renovation. He was pleasant to deal with and efficient with his time. He also came equipped with the parts we'd need to get the jobs done. Happy to recommend R+B.

The technician Chris arrived exactly as scheduled, quickly assessed the problem with our shower cartridge, purchased required parts and repaired the shower expertly. R&B is always reliable and we highly recommend them.

Great work from R&B today on our kitchen sink which had dropped down from its proper location. It's in an awkward location so some tricky problem solving was done to re-seat then reinforce the sink to avoid recurrence. I was particularly impressed by how quickly they worked and the way they left the site looking nice and clean when they finished. I appreciated being walked through the work that was done and also being told what to watch out for in terms of a potential leak we were not aware of. Punctual, professional service!

I recently had a heat pump installed by R&B Plumbing. They did a home visit to access the size I would need and explained the whole process to me. It took 3 days to complete (only one day without heat) and all was done well and clean. I love my heat pump especially the air conditioning during our hot summers. The office staff were also very helpful with the rebate process. I would definitely recommend this family run business for any heating or plumbing projects.

We had an air conditioning/heat pump system installed in our house by Tony, Byron and Michael. They were professional, hard working and courteous. They cleaned up every day during the course of installation and regularly checked in with me to ensure I was happy with the final result given that so many line sets needed to be run through the house to the exterior. Would highly recommend them for all plumbing/AC needs.

Sam was on time, professional, kept me updated on progress and did a good, clean job, fitting a new shower.

Tony came on time and after some difficult issues was able to clear the pipe blockage and re install the garbage disposal unit.

I have just had R and B plumbing and heating install a heat pump. Cannot say enough good things about the people and the project from start to finish. Malcolm and Tony were totally professional and friendly. On time and clean. Perfect layout for system. Thanks so much to both of you.
