One of the best businesses in Vancouver!

I initially went to look for a racket. They were super helpful in teaching me what I should consider and what I might be looking for. They offered to demo a few rackets for me and I got to take one home for a couple days to try (for only $2!). When I came back, I didn't purchase a racket because I wanted to look on marketplace for a used one. I picked up a set of balls and some over grip tape for my buddy.

Tim was outstanding and ended up just giving me the over grip tape free of charge.

I still haven't bought myself a racket yet and I may just buy one new from them for full price in the near future solely because I want to support such an amazing business.

10/10 - I wouldn't want to go anywhere else in Vancouver for any Tennis related needs.

I went into the shop for the first time yesterday. I wasn't even buying expensive items like rackets, just sunglasses, but I was still given top class service.

I was approached and asked if I was looking for anything in particular. The young lady immediately took me to the glasses and recommended a pair that would be useful for tennis. She even suggested taking the pair outside into the sunlight with a ball so that I could check visibility. I did this with a few pairs before making a decision.

Honestly top class stuff and I will be back for sure when it's time to buy my next racket or pair of shoes.

Had my rackets strung here during a busy time of year. The rackets were strung at the wrong tension. Owner/manager was professional and courteous. Money was refunded.

My friends highly recommended R&R. Their shoes are competitively priced and their service is exceptional. Friendly Heather spent time helping me find a leather all court shoe for my extra wide feet. The lady owner even marked, softened, and stretched the leather shoes to accomodate my bunions at no extra charge. When I came back two days later to pick up and pay for my stretched shoes, I was so pleased with my experience that I asked very friendly Vanda to help me find an extra wide running shoe at an excellent sale deal which she did. Vanda was interested in me as a person and not just a sale. R&R seem to have a lot of friendly staff so I had no wait time nor felt pressure to buy. I now highly recommend R&R.

Small store but it had a surprisingly great selection of court shoes and racquets and the customer service was excellent! Max was super but everyone in the store was fabulous!

Best shop in town! Absolutely pleased with the service! Had my tennis racket strung with a new grip and balls. The entire staff is great and highly knowledgeable and the best atmosphere. I love this shop and have never felt more welcomed and I don't know everyone's name but Brian worked on my racket and I know he knows his work. I will never return to Yumo pro shop, Tad's sporting goods or Sportchek for my tennis needs. I discovered Rackets&Runners thanks to my friend who goes there even though I pass by there many times for work not paying attention. I have just started going there recently as I am getting back into tennis. I will be making a bigger purchase soon and am excited. Keep up the great work. I never write reviews but for the OUTSTANDING service is continuously get at rackets and runners, I couldn’t not write something. They are truly the best. They have the best staff who are warm, friendly and knowledgeable. They are the BEST!

I used to go to this store when I was in high school to get my rackets strung so it's been a while. I went to pick up my running package and needed to buy additional items for my run. They have a unique selection of clothing and equipment. Not too many to choose from but I suppose it's a good thing. Suzi was very helpful and friendly. I felt that she went above and beyond which made my experience a good one. I will definitely come back if I need to buy more equipment.

I bought a Dunlop tennis racket and a pair of ASICS tennis shoes from Rackets & Runners.
I dealt with Tim and the owner Venda. I have to say I was impressed by their expertise and amazing customer service. Tim recommended me some demo tennis rackets before I was able to pick the right one for my game while Venda accommodated a tennis shoes exchange to make sure I have the best fit for my feet.

I strongly recommend you to deal with them if you need professional tennis advice and equipment.

I had emailed about finding a pair of tennis shoes, they replied promptly with some options in my size that they had available. The next day I came into the Oak St.store about 10 minutes before they closed completely prepared to try to rush through the transaction as I didn't want to hold them up from closing the store and going home. I was pleasantly surprised that Nadia took her time not only to have me try on 4 pairs of shoes, but also went above and beyond with walking me through the fit and features of each pair, as well as trying to customize a pair that almost were the right fit. Nadia and Kevin even checked if there were any other shipments on the horizon, but in the end I was super happy to walk away with a pair that fit me perfectly. I cannot say enough good things about Rackets & Runners, and I highly recommend the shop to everyone.

I recently ordered shoes from Rackets and Runners. The shoes didn't fit but Rackets and Runners still went above and beyond. When my item arrived they included a nice hand-written card thanking me for my purchase. When my shoes didn't fit because of my orthotics Vanda was super helpful and had a lot of advice to offer, including an honest opinion. I returned the shoes and promptly received an email and a text advising me that my refund had been processed. You just don't get this kind of service any more. When I'm ready to buy a new racket, another pair of shoes or some tennis clothes I will make a point of purchasing Rackets and Runners. Thank you

A great shopping experience! This is my first time to the shop. I have a tight budget and needed a pair of Wide-type tennis shoes. The lady there went an extra mile to fit my budget and give me a fit and nicely designed pair of shoes. Plus, she gave me very insightful advice. Absolutely incredible customer experience. Received a hand written thank-you note with my racquet order. There was a minor issue with the stringing and it was handled wonderfully. A new set of strings was shipped to me and also I received an unexpected gift of a high quality metal water bottle with the replacement strings! And, of course, another hand written note. Would not hesitate to do business with them again.

I absolutely love the service here, they really know their stuff! I have complicated feet (orthotics), and they always make excellent recommendations. Every time I need new shoes, I go here, and I think you should, too! Your feet will thank you.

Phoned your store this morning with regards to regripping my pickleball raquet. Talked to Matt who said no problem. It was done in under 10 min. It was a pleasure dealing with Matt who has one of the best customer service attitudes going.

Went there to pick up the swag for the Granville Island Turkey Trot and I was early 30 minutes before they are open but they helped me anyway.
Super excited about the race and happy that we have some great people out there.

Blown away! Went to R&R to demo a few Yonex racquets. Wasn't sure what to expect other than I was interested in the Vcore 100. Spoke with Max and a few other experts there, they encouraged me to try a few more - Vcore 98,95, and Vcore Pro 97. The outcome? I ended up liking the 95 a lot. Point is without such demo, I would've just purchased Vcore 100 and not having access to the other racquets before I committed to one. Super great, super helpful, super happy with their services. Look forward to buying my new racquets from them!

Was treated extremely well over the course of a few weeks of recent interaction — had favourable and helpful experience with staff member Max in particular, dealing with racquet/paddle demos and questions (as well as another staff member inside whose name I didn’t get but who helped me get a suitable new pair of sport court socks).

Despite living in Richmond, really impressed with the store, their follow up, generosity, efficient website, and practical programs (including demo program - it just is a good idea). I made the drive here twice over the past two weeks to support this local company and purchased a number of quality items, and again was treated very well.

I used to live quite close by and frequented R&R many years ago, and I think service is superior now, all these years later. A good sign (as in sport!) — not coasting, and always improving.

I will continue to give them my business as I’m able (current competitive badminton & pickleball player, and former national badminton player, and badminton coach).

I am currently in recovery from my broken toes and the orthopedic specialist asked me to get a pair of comfortable runners. The person who helped me at the store was Liz. Due to my swollen foot we had to try on many different pairs to find the right shoes. Liz was very knowledgeable, patient, and friendly. Overall very happy with the service and a very highly recommended place to visit.

What an amazing team. You can feel the passion for tennis enminating from everyone working in the store. Max in particular was very informative, thoughtful, and professional in guiding me through the buying process. Being able to rent and try out rackets for 3 days ($2) is an ingenious idea. This is absolutely by far the best place to go as a beginner tennis player!

I brought in my friends' racket to restring last week and Bryan, who is very knowledgeable and friendly was there to assist me in resolving an order error. Although I'm not a tennis player myself, the team was always available in explaining their products and services with care and class. It is well worth the drive to this location and I might get into tennis myself!

This was my first time visiting Rackets & Runners, so I didn't know what to expect. I came in looking for some runners that I could use for work. Having little to no knowledge on what type of shoe I needed, I was stuck staring a wall of shoes with no idea where to start. Shortly after, one of the employees approached me (Liz) and offered to help me out. After briefly explaining to her what I was looking for in a shoe, she quickly made some suggestions. She then measured both my feet on the brannock device, and gathered sizes based on her assessment. Within minutes, she was able to find the perfect fit and shoe. The entire process took less than 10 minutes and I was out the door with new pair of shoes I couldn't be more happier with. This store has exceeded my expectations, and from now on, I will be purchasing all my future runners from this place!

Hands down one of the best experiences I've had in a store, ever. My friend (who as taxi'ing me around and didn't even go in to get shoes) picked up runners that he feels are the most comfortable he's had in his life, thanks to Vanda measuring and knowing the comfort and fit of everything they have. I picked up runners needed for insoles to help heal nerve damage. They were so incredible kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. Great experience. I live in almost an hour from this shop and would go back, without doubt, for the that level of care.

To help relieve my plantar fasciitis, my Podiatrist recommended I purchase Oofos Recovery Slippers and New Balance Foam V2 Runners from R&R. Vanda is amazing! She made sure we had the best tennis shoes for our feet and playing styles. She really knows her stuff and was so fun to talk to! Amazing service. Not only do they patiently answer my beginner questions, they helped me re-wrap my grip and taught me how to wrap overgrip. Shoutouts to the genuinely friendly and helpful team at R&R.

Excellent customer service. All staff are friendly and knowledgeable of the products. They have a racket drop off/pick up express table set up outside for customers which is very convenient as they only allow 3 customers in the store at a time.

Used their demo racket program to find a new tennis racket. Just need to call ahead to reserve which rackets to put aside for you and then they only charge you $2 per racket (cost of the grip tape as they change them every time for covid precautions) and you get to keep them for 3 days.

All I can say is, they make it happen every single time. Impeccable service and if you don't believe me, just give them a call. The way they answer the phone, you KNOW you're talking to an expert. With how COVID shifted business, kudos to them for adapting.

Highly recommend this place for buying a new tennis racket, or getting one strung. The customer service is fantastic, they have very knowledgeable and helpful staff who are happy to give their time & attention to answer any questions you have.
