Rattlesnake Canyon

BE Careful - My kid was doing Bungee Jumping and the safety straps were not tied up properly. In the middle of the jumping, the strap was opened and he got a whiplash.he also got bruises and was injured.nothing was done and it’s completely ignorant on the staff’s part.

Brought my nieces here and they absolutely enjoyed everything about the park. A big hitter was panning for some gems! Young Staff but very professional. Would recommend coming here with kids ages 5-12

Mini golf and bumper boats were fun.only concern was what seemed like young children running the rides without adult supervision

Family of five and had so much fun. All the staff we met were great from buying tickets to buying ice cream to end the day. Go carts, bumper boats and mini golf were all a hit with my family. Lots of other rides and things to do

Arrived almost an hour before close, and the crew was super chill about us being there! No lines, only people on the rides, so much fun! Had a blast with my little sisters!

I just want to say I way very impressed with the staff here. My grandson and I were there for the hot day with wristbands. Some rides were not busy but if we stood at an empty one I'd hear someone call out another's name and boom staff was there to operate immediately! They all really kept an eye out on everything. All so positive and hard working!

I don't feel great writing this, as I don’t like to needlessly criticize hardworking small businesses, but this review has to do with safety of children, so I feel compelled to write it. My goal with writing it is to spur ownership to complete a review of their safety protocols and procedures. I don’t want ownership to get defensive, or refute my observations, or even report back to me or apologize. Simply look inward, be humble, and confirm with yourself that you are doing everything in your power to ensure safety of the children who so adore your business. I should also add, I have had dozens of great experiences at Rattlesnake Canyon.

On Monday, July 10th at approximately 10pm I, with my wife and another couple entered Rattlesnake Canyon and bought tickets for mini-golf and the Tornado. My friend and I were being strapped into the Tornado by a very young operator (I will guess 12yo). The operator suggested whether or not we had a safety belt on did not matter (it would barely fit, as we were both large men). Before the ride was turned on, a loud commotion and hysterical crying erupted from the Bungee Tree, another amusement ride adjacent to the Tornado.

What I personally saw was a mom crying, a dad scrambling up onto the trampoline to get his child, and a broken rope. My wife witnessed the child flying uncontrollably through the air, attached by only one bungee cord, rather than the normal two bungee cords. Apparently, once bungee cord snapped mid-flight, and my wife say the child hit a railing. It is a small miracle that the child did not hit his head harder. It appeared he was ultimately unharmed – however totally traumatized. Based on the speeds and heights, it is easy to understand how this could have been serious or fatal.

This is concerning. Amusement Devices should, under no circumstances, have mechanical or human errors which put ride-goers at risk. Rattlesnake Canyon must do a review of their inspection processes, find the root cause of the malfunction, and immediately address it.

Also concerning was the general tone and response of employees, they were children, and understandable acting like children. A rope broke and they could not believe it. Not one employee, to my knowledge, assessed the victim child’s health after the incident. It was difficult to find an adult, though Rattlesnake Canyon has apparently said the owner was called immediately. I did see an adult re-affixing a rope after the incident on a ladder, about 10-15 minutes after the incident.

Pretty fun time. Go kart track is the feature attraction. My 3 yo loved riding along in the double kart. Pack your own food.

Great place to visit! We had a blast! There are a lot of good kids working there. Gage was great! He was good with the kids and personable & easy to talk to.

Always have to visit every year such a great energy at place mini golf and go carts are must to try for the adults and kids the staff/owner are always nice and helpful I hope rattlesnake canyon stays open forever!

Great experience but somethings can be upgraded.

We did the 18 course mini golf, had ice cream and slush puppies

Pro/Improvements:

- Overall vibe was fun brought back alot of memories of the old times
- mini golf was good but was quiet busy so had to wait per course.
- Golf clubs and blue was decently maintained
- Slush puppies a YES to buying again I haven't had those in yearsss! Had the watermelon one!
- Chocolate Mint Fudge worth the price of 2 to share. The portion was very generous In a cup. Though found this one tooo sweet.

Great time had by all young and ancient alike. Our favourite was the Tornado swings. Great group of young men attending to the rides. Price is worth every penny to see the beeming smiles of all attendees!

The place is fun. Many ice-cream flavors, 3 - 5 nice attractions, mini golf.

I was expecting more from the go-karts. My understanding is that everything there (karts, track, systems) needs a complete and proffessionally designed/planned renovation.

It looked like a ton of fun. I stopped by late at night for some icecream. I'll definitely be back!

Great time.ride waits were not too long but definatley far busier in the evening than afternoon.

A little gem in the town. We had lots of fun!
The little misters were appreciated for such a hot day. Whenever we needed a staff member they were there. Shout out to Matthew who took care of our kids on the trampoline and daughter on the rock climbing wall and was just an all around good guy. Prepare to get wet on the bumper boats but welcome on a super hot day. The go carts are so much fun! The only thing I would suggest is making sure you have enough water/drinks for the mini golf as you can’t exit the course without walking all the way through to get something.

Can't go wrong with mini-golf and ice cream! The course is actually really nice and fun and the ice cream is top notch. There are a bunch of other attractions that children can experience as well. It's a must visit if you're staying in Osoyoos.

I usually don't trash a business but this place is a total rip off now. Went with 3 kids with the evening passes was almost $200. You can buy single go cart tickets but not a bunch of tickets for rides. Do yourself a favor, don't get robbed lol, find other activities.

Coming from Alberta and never ever been there before I loved it. It was a great spot to take the family.

Always a must do with my kids, who despite growing older still enjoy many of the activities at Rattlesnake Canyon. The park was clean. The go karts were a blast in particular. There were 2 rides not in service which was unfortunate (hence 4 stars at this time). Extra shout out to the ice cream shop with a great selection and generous single serve cones! We appreciate that there’s no fee for admission, only for the activities of your choosing. This allowed other members of extended family to spectate and enjoy the experience, and ice cream!

Had an awesome time with my 3 year old here. He loved the bumper boats and golf. Employees were friendly and helpful and the park was super clean. We come here every year and will be back again and again!

Been here numerous times and have always enjoyed it. Really solid mini golf course. Do yourself a favor and go in the evening! What a fun experience.

A great place to visit with the kids! There isn't much for 2-3 year olds, but 4 + will have a great time. If visiting, I suggest staying in the hotel next door. This place is open late in the summer and offers go-karts, mini golf, water boats, ice cream, etc. Pricing is average. The employees are nice.

The rides are poorly manned.the kids running it a good, but they are spread thin. The best rides are 'closed for repairs' and I haven't seen them running in 2 yrs! Great place for kids, expensive for adults to go on with little kids. Overall it's ok

Lots of fun. Not too crowded but no social distancing or masks requirements enforced. Go Cart line was a close contact and lines could get a little long.

The go karts were in poor condition when we were there. The purple cart was running about 70% the speed of some of the others. Staff was friendly. Was an ok experience.

It wasn't terrible. But it's very outdated under staffed. The people were nice though. Kid doing the concession stand dealing with making food and all that had terribly long fingernails. Dirt under them didn't look well kept.

The staffs were extremely helpful in explaining how the tickets work and genuinely wanted to make sure my kids had a great time.

Not just for kids! We had a great time trying to beat the heat here. The go karts were a highlight, and we won an extra round on them through the deal or no deal game in the arcade. There wasn't enough staff unfortunately, so sometimes you had to wait long or track them down to help you.

We had a lot of fun here. Great for my son in the daytime and for my teenage daughters in the evening.
Sadly there are change machine needs to be replaced as it ate my $20 bill. For the arcade But other than that the ice cream was awesome and the kids had a great time.

Unfortunately our latest experience at Rattlesnake Canyon was far from acceptable. We left feeling ripped off and frankly, violated.
The young male employee who was operating the bungee tree has a big lesson to learn in consent. My two young daughters were first left bouncing with no sproing in the bungee and then when their dad mentioned to the employee to "look alive" he said "I'm tired, I've been working all day" then proceeded to fling my daughter high into the air without first mentioning to her that he was about to do so.

The rides went on way too long. Myself and other customers were asking attendants to end the rides. Amusement parks should leave you wanting more, not begging to get off the ride!

Fun for kids. Staff was great at accommodating children’s needs and ensured the best possible time was had. Would recommend for an hour or 2 outing with kids.

Awesome 18 hope mini golf course. Some holes have a spinner that let's you try and mess up another player's shot. Lots of fun.

A bit high priced for kids when a couple main ctions are unavailable and the climbing wall is not safe for lighter climbers. The auto belY devices are way too loose. Owner says he gets them calibrated yearly but as a safety pro who had to rescue his 9yr old from the upper ledge and lower him down manually I have to question the validation of his claim. Hope he's being honest otherwise someone might get hurt and it will not bode well for the owner. Post your annual certifications for the belay devices and I'll revise my rating accordingly. Safety first!

Came to see what all the hype was about and it did not disappoint. Great place! My daughter has had so much fun here and we will be back again tomorrow. Thank you to all the wonderful staff and owner for putting in so much effort to make it such a lovely place to visit. Keep up the great work guys

We went with high hopes of the kids having a good time but we’re fairly disappointed quickly. The place is in terrible disrepair and unsafe looking. One of the wheels fell off a go kart because it wasn’t installed correctly. I know it’s a pandemic and they are probably struggling for staff but this place needs lots of TLC! There employees were doing there best going from ride to ride and to the kitchen to try and keep up by jumping fences. Cleanliness not a priority and safety not either!

Wish it was better!

Update 2021:
My kids had a great time, and the night started off great. Unfortunately, it went downhill. They're sorely understaffed, the two feature rides are shut down for maintenance (but they have adjusted prices accordingly) ; the go karts were absolutely packed through. I'm ok with waiting but there were zero masks, even in food prep areas (Randy's Kitchen), and people were crowded so tightly in line that it did not feel covid safe at all. We ended up leaving early because it made us feel seriously uncomfortable. We still had a great time, and had they just spaced out the lines for the go karts and separated people from each other, it would have been so much better.

Update 2020:
Really fun mini golf. This place is priced high for a town fair though - admission for adults is 60 per adult - for comparison, it's 40 to go to Playland in Vancouver.

This place is run by people who strongly appear to be ages 14-17. It's either understaffed or the staff are all hanging out together and leaving many areas unattended. I recently attended with two friends. We wanted to get a soft pretzel so stood out front of one of the concessions for 5-10 minutes. We yelled "hello" and a young boy staff member was bouncing on the trampoline and asked us if we needed something. He came over and we ordered a soft pretzel and mini donuts. The mini donuts were small and crispy. The soft pretzel was hard and not even fully warm. Really underwhelming! I also asked him for a cup of water and he said "we have no cups here" even tho I saw some on the counter. Also mostly all the hand sanitizer dispensers were empty. We moved onto the bumper boats. We also saw this area was unattended. We went over to the gold mining in the water area and were putting our hands in. An attendant came over and told us not to do this. We said we actually had been waiting at the bumper boats to go on and no one was around. She proceeded to argue and say she had been on her break and did not see us waiting and we said we had waited there again for 5-10 mins. She took us over and let us on the boats. She was not having a good attitude when we said thank you and left. This place actually seems like its run by children who are not paying attention. I would get some older supervisions or train the staff better. It just takes away from the experience.

Great park for smaller children! My 12 year old had fun in the arcade and on the go carts. They have bumperboats and mining golf as well.

We are from Edmonton Alberta and Rattlesnake Canyon is such a fun place to bring your family for a great day of fun and laughter. It's a great price for a full day of go karting, mini golf, rides, rock climbing and bungee trampoline jumping. Our favourite thing was the bumper water boats. The Mini golf was very scenic, with trees and waterfalls. Now let's talk about the BEST icecream and flavours I've ever had. I want to go back just for icecream lol. The park is incredible but what is more incredible is the OWNER. What an amazing guy. He's so friendly and humble. Just met him and love him already! An amazing day. Changing my review, only because the consession stand is ridiculous. The pricing for mini donuts is $6.00 for not even a handful of donuts I'm actually very annoyed.

This place has one of the best mini golf courses I have ever been too. So fun and beautifully laid out course. Staff were very good to deal with and very friendly. Must visit this place if you are in Osoyoos.

The place to go with pre-teens in the summer time.
Rides are fun, however with the lack of staff during the day, please expect waiting for an attendant occasionally to get on.
The arcade has many that are out of service and most are outdated. Bring lots of change

The place was busy and clean, people were happy, nice and patient. The only problem which is not even a problem, it closes at 11. It should be open later. Other than that, great amusement park

Showed up and the 2 rides my boys wanted to go on weren't working. Paid 72$ for the evening session. I asked for a refund and they said no, we left within 10min of our arrival, no rides.

Most of the rides were closed, and the ones that were open, only two of them were good: The mini golf, which was very interesting and the jumping thingy. The lady who runs it is very nice too!

Love it! Their mini golf is so much fun. Such a great value. Very beautiful course and highly entertaining. Recommend going late into the evening. 18 holes, a great value entertainment experience here. Can be busy, but take your time. The holes are fun for all changes. Lot of other activities too. Looking forward to coming back. Enough to keep you entertained for a couple days. I like that there’s no entrance fee so you can come in and pay for what activities you want to do.

Wish they had tents in the lines in the desert with misting lines but hey 8 minutes of torture in the sun for 8 minutes of fun on the bumper boats.loved it.

Definitely get the pass, rides are expensive individually. Pass gets mini golf and unlimited rides. Definitely worth it. Had a fantastic day with the kids. It was a little slow when we were go carting and got to go back to back! Made for an excellent father's day!

I regret to say that it was a waste of money only one carousel was open so I suggest that everyone should not buy a ticket for the whole day.the lady at the cash desk did not deign to inform me that some attractions are closed

We went on Canada day 2021 half the rides worked and the video game machines where not properly working the staff where friendly and unaware of the problems

Small amusement park, but it surprising has a little of everything for all ages. Take the family there and have a blast!

Mimi golf was fun but the rest of the place looked rundown.half the arcade games are out of order and there's not much to do if you're in a group with adults.

This place was terribly bad I had my kid on the go carts and there was a whole bunch of people bumping my kid was crying and the workers were not doing nothing about it this happened on Friday 11 not going back

Temperatures in the mid 40s today, perfect for 48 flavors of ice cream at the windmill. As you can see, I couldn't decide and got 5 different ones.

Amazing place for kids. Thanks all for the staff and thanks for the opening for the family. Mini golf course is an excellent and fun spot and the racing car is one of the best. Wish to come back every year.
