R.E. Mountain Secondary School

In all honesty, the school isn't bad. It is Modern and advanced, but isnt clean, mostly because of the students and the low number of custodians who already have a lot on their plate. The bathroom is a whole different realm, you can find anything there, it ranges from an MMA cage, to a hookah lounge to a even barbershop. The staff should be paying more attention and actually doing something about the vapes and other drugs. The gender neutral bathroom is constantly filled with students skipping class to smoke and do other activities that i will not go in depth about. Another issue I have is the students that go behind the church at lunch and smoke, I find it disrespectful that students are doing these activities next to a religious facility. I will say this again, staff need to take this issue more serious, it is obnoxious when the halls, bathrooms and even some classes, stink from vapes and marijuana. The staff are mostly nice but some are passive aggressive or unreasonable, I personally never had an issue with any school admins so I cannot comment on that, but I heard some mixed feelings about them, the teachers on the other hand, it is a hit or miss, like any other school there are teachers that are questionable and have strange ways of teaching, while others are quite the opposite and are professionals at their job, although it is rare. The building is overpopulated and has barely enough room to breathe yet alone get to classes on time, if your class is far from where you are. The school came up with a new schedule for next year (8 am classes) which most students aren't pleased with. Mountain has plenty of room for improvement and I hope that at some point, the school will listen to many of the issues and concerns students have. Please consider doing a school wide survey about any changes or suggestions that the school may benefit from.

If I could give this place 0 stars, I’d give them -6. HORRIBLE SCHOOL, sure they have money but absolutely no morality whatsoever.

I cannot believe how they treated my daughter when she went there. RACIST ADMIN EVERYWHERE. White people on a total power trip. Disgusting and vile human beings, choose ANY other school.

My daughter is in therapy now due to the trauma she dealt with at this school from staff and admin. I hope no one has to deal with what this school dishes out.

Don’t send your kids to this school. Grade 9 moved here and unfortunately I had Laura Spindlove for grade 9 and 10 and I kid you not, she was the absolute worst! Made me cry multiple times and she literally didn’t even care, surprised how she’s even teaching. If there was a 0 star option I’d give it.

most staff members suck and pretend to care, but they really don't lol.
I'm seeing all these good reviews and I'm guessing it's al the IB kids who had an actual program and teachers that have some soul.

Interesting building design choice. The teachers are a hit or miss. Hallways are a mosh pit. Smells like a recreational centre, sometimes i forget i’m at school.

I had quite the time at R. E. Mountain. Graduated in 2007, after 5 years of 'education' through.

Thanks Mr. Koruz Mr. Friezen Ms. Gibson Mr. Klingsmith for good classes. Math Humanities and Mandarin were good. I hope you enjoyed the gift of Pizza. We thought it was funny.
