I have to say over the years Reach has been my go to whenever I need anything, I always tell people to go here, the staff are very thorough. But today was different. I'm a generally healthy person who rarely gets sick but for the past 2 weeks I've been dealing with blocked ears, migraine like headaches and earaches. Ive missed 2 weeks of work. Today after being deemed low priority I saw doctor Lau who told me to come back at the 1 month mark and only then would my condition be taken seriously. She denied labs and a referral to an ENT. Is this what They teach in med school now? JUST GET SICKER? Afterwards I went to another walk in down the street and was given an ENT referral, labs and told to go to the ER if the headaches get worse. Thanks for wasting my time Dr. Lau.

The pharmacy is amazing. The medical clinic is kind of a mess - I have had my primary doctor change several times, it’s nearly impossible to get through on the phone, and the online booking system doesn’t work (errors and says to contact reception) They’re nice when you’re there in person at least!

Excellent experience at Urgent Care this evening, from the receptionist to nurse Laura and Dr. Chang, everyone friendly, thorough, efficient, willing to explain, patient.felt totally respected and heard and well looked after.yes, they told me to go to ER for appropriate tests for which they don't have equipment.i'm at ER now still, waiting for results.thank you so much to all of you!

The receptionist at Maple Team is rude and does not listen to patients' concerns during conversations. She consistently delays sending referrals and shows 0 care for patients. She is not fulfilling her job duties adequately. I would like to caution others to be aware of this. While the family doctor is good, the female receptionist at Maple Team is unprofessional, exhibits a rude attitude, and consistently delays processes, often resulting in delays of over 10 days. I find myself having to call specialists frequently to check on the status of referrals.

Amazing staff! I’m sitting here waiting to see the doctor and so far everyone I’ve been in contact with (receptionist/nurse Barbara) has been so nice/caring/genuine.

The clinic is clean, bright and modern. Definitely recommend here for any urgent care matters.

I've been a patient at reach since I was a kid. 1981 I was going to brittania elementary.
I moved away many times but kept my various family doctors.
They are an exellent neighborhood clinic under allot of pressure since COVID. The dental clinic is short staffed and wait times can be long but the receptionists are great. I have had 4 different family doctors over the years. 2 retired. 1 went into politics and my current doctor is new but seems good so far.
Reach has never let me down.
Wear a mask and do your hands immediately.

I was there by 8: 15 and was seen and treated by 9: 15 and left. Very efficient, organized, clean and the staff are personable. I recommend the urgent care centre for anyone experiencing delays with their primary care doctor (or who doesn't have a doctor) that meets the criteria of Urgent Care.

I’ve been in Vancouver for 6 years, went to clinics having an msp and not having an msp and hands down this is the where I’ve been treated the best and where I felt they actually took their time and care about me, they could figure out the cause of my symptoms so they run a few tests on me, and really spend some time asking me questions, I don’t understand how this place works this GOOD under donations, but I’m so grateful for their service and commitment

VCH time to take control of this place. If there was a 0 star that is what I would give. Just arrived at urgent care and feeling faint and dizzy. The would not see me because of my 6werks of diarrhea and it may be related to covid. I've Had all my shots and even testef 5 dsysago. Urgent care. Get a grip. They did however give me a list ofother urgent care centres. They didn't know what services the other centres would offer

They are not human being a pregnant woman with no money and strong lower pain did not get attention to know how her baby is doing, they asked for money to get an ultrasound knowing that she just got to this country… BAD SERVICE AND BAD, RECEPTION they don’t care about peoples health

Needed an emergency prescription. Walked in to find out it would be a 2hr wait because of urgency of my case. Went to the pharmacist inside Reach and the professionals there helped me in the matter of minutes. They went above and beyond to refill my prescription to tie me over. Saved me two hours of my life waiting. Thank you! You guys rock!

Receptionist AMY, she’s the rudest person in the world, was not helpful at all, she made imposible for my very sick friend to see a doctor, she claimed he couldn’t get an appointment because he didn’t have a local phone number and when I tried to give her mine, since I would be the one driving him there, she said it had to be his personal phone number. She was yelling on the phone for absolutely no reason. The only reason I was the one calling is because my friend barely speaks English and when he tried calling he couldn’t really understand what she was saying and apparently that really annoyed her.
Just very sad how someone can treat others so poorly just because she hates her job.

Doctors and nurses are nice, but the receptionist, an asian lady is so rude and impolite, quite unprofessional servicing skills. The staffs at the pharmacy has poor attitude. Asked them about the waiting time and procedures after seeing the nurse, and they just very rude ask you wait and said know nothing about the other sections. What the hell is going on inside, did they get proper training to serve patients?

It's somewhat fine as long as you're able to manage your own health care. Doctors are mostly good but too overloaded and there's high turnover. You will not be notified of any referrals or appointments made for you (and then will get in trouble for missing appointments, which you were never told about.)

They won't keep track of when you're due for things like cancer screenings, you have to be on top of that yourself. Very limited in person appointments, usually takes 3-4 weeks to get in to see anyone. They've had some locum doctors in lately, presumably to try to ease the strain, but they've been terrible. Waste of an appointment. There are some upsides in that they don't charge for things like forms or notes, and they offer longer appointments than most clinics do, which can be helpful. The pharmacy is absolutely fantastic, I will continue going to them even if I manage to find a new doctor at another clinic. Most of the reception staff are helpful and kind but not all, I have heard them making disparaging comments about other patients audible to everyone in the waiting room which I thought was really inappropriate. Good luck trying to get through on their phone lines. I have also made appointments by phone which mysteriously disappeared in their system.

I guess this is the best Vancouver has to offer but it isn't exactly great. I wish they would fix their organizational and staffing issues because it could be a great resource but as it is, my healthcare needs are not met and things get missed a lot. Be prepared to research and manage your own healthcare needs if you come here. If you do not initiate, really push the issue, and follow up on every little thing then nothing happens.

Dr.completely missed that I had appendicitis the afternoon I went and I ended up at the emergency that night with septic shock.

The Dr.was kind, but was only concerned with COVID despite none of my symptoms being COVID related (Sharp abdominal pain). Her electric blood pressure machine was not working properly and stated that it had not been working well lately. She did not take my blood pressure manually, which she should have. She said she would only do blood tests on me after my COVID results came back negative.

I don't believe I experienced proper care at this clinic.

I have been going to Reach for years. It has been mostly good enough. There are great hygienists that work here. However the dentists truly lack care and skill. I have been to their office once every six months for whatever they recommend. The last time I was here the dentist told me I needed a root canal, out of no where, glibly and without much care. Reach sent me to a great endontics doctor (I thought he was great actually) that scoffed at the idea of me needing a root canal! What a great time wasting, emotional and expensive experience.

I had an amazing experience at Reach today. I felt so comfortable and cared for by my nurse, Leslie as well as Seth, who drew my blood for the labs. Both were knowledge and compassionate.

The wait time was short and I was in and out in an appropriate time - not too short that I felt rushed but not too long waiting around needlessly.

The facilities are clean and have a super friendly/welcoming vibe (not sterile like other clinics). I was able to get everything done on the spot - assessment, covid test and labs. What else could you ask for?

The worst experience from a dental office I've ever had. Nobody listens and when you call in for the safety of the community and staff because of illness maybe linked to covid they put you on a 3 strike rule system for no shows. To me that's a broken office. If your not well it's well known for work places to give staff off but if your a patient your told to go on a walk in basis. My wife and I are on disability. Our absences were health related. You guys really expect people on disability to come do a walk in for a chance to be able to see a dentist. You guys avoid this office completely. So many great professional dentist out there that care. I'd give this office a minus rating if I could.

I was in an out within 30 minutes, but in that time I saw a nurse and two docs. They were very thorough and made sure I had all my questions and concerns addressed. It was very evident to me that they practice using a trauma informed lens. Love this clinic.

I just wanted to share that the folks at this centre went above and beyond to provide my colleague the urgent support he needed. Doctor Lau (sorry if I botched spelling) was THE BEST doctor I have ever had the privilege of meeting. Despite how busy the clinic was she took the care and time it needed to make surey friend got the care he needed. Thank you!

This is the absolute best clinic I have ever gone to. All the people are insanely nice, respectful, and just overwhelming want the best for you. I would love to thank Dr. Lau for literally saving my life. If it wasn’t for their overall help, I wouldn’t be here today.

I went to get covid testing and i was so glad i chose this place. I left a msg and got call back in 30 min. There was 20 min delay to get tested but the nurse was super kind and friendly and the test was quick. I got my result in 60 hours. I want to say thank you again to the nurse there!

Recently went here for a covid 19 test.

Here’s what to expect.

They do first call first served appointments on the same day. So if you call their number after 9am all the appointments are usually booked up. It’s important to call and leave a message first thing in the morning. I called at 8 am on Saturday and I got a call back at 10am booking my appointment for 3: 30-4: 00.

It’s a super quick test, the nurse was friendly and helpful. So was the person who called me back.

I just had to wait in the spot designated for testing and I was in and out in 20ish mins.

Hopefully I won’t need to take another test in the future, and if I do I will be booking an appointment here again.

Great doctors, just feeling fed up with front counter staff. Rude and half hour wait times or longer on the phone and they can’t send a fax. I once waited three months for a specialist only to find out the specialist never got my referral. Had to wait another 3.

My last last doctor from the clinic is gone, so that gave me doctor F. Someone that waits for you to stop speaking so she can hear herself talk. I’ve asked for another doctor but W won’t give me a call back. I’m trying to find a new doc but the only number they gave me is from a place that wants only new clients. I’m a straight white male. I’m the most hated person on the planet. They don’t want me or anything like me here. One receptionist told me (African American girl) a doctor told her.
Even when I mentioned I have to cut my wrists to get a doctors attention they hang up on me. Please avoid this place and get some real help. This is a joke in the BC System. Just collecting paycheques

Spotlessly clean, amazing caring staff, cannot recommend highly enough for cuts bruises and anything you can keep out of the ER. The recent negative reviews are Covid specific and that a shame that folks feel the need to drive the rating of this place down. Be glad they exist.

I went there, the receptionist saw me and didn't even try to talk to me, one of her colleagues (dental side) told her to acknowledge me.
She asked me what did I need. I explained to her my whole situation just for her to tell me at the end they didn't have any doctors or nurses on site
They were coming later, 3 hours later!
Why does this place even exist!?

I have been going to this rare gem for most of my health care needs for years and I have yet to be let down. Whether its dental, pharmacy, or urgent care physician service they always come through.

In dental Jessica, Elsa, and Maria who have been so supportive. At the pharmacy Afshin has gone over and above for years. Nathan listened and provided info that empowered me. Today Melodie saved me by referring me to a Dr Pastram who ended up helping me through a very difficult time. I know there are many names missing from this list of humans that deserve commendation.

Thank you to REACH for treating me like family. The respect, dignity, and non-judgmental, client-centered approach you provide is exactly what patients within their communities need.

This new state-of-the-art building, which is basically a mini hospital, is exactly what communities all over the province and Canada need to deliver the best care and health outcomes for their patients.

If you need a COVID test, just go elsewhere. This place requires you to phone to make an appointment, but they don't answer the phone. It took three hours for someone to return my call, only to tell me that I would have to go elsewhere. By that point, all other locations in the Vancouver area were either closed for the day or at capacity. If I'd simply gone somewhere else in the first place, I would have been able to get tested (but I thought it was better to go to REACH, since I could walk rather than take transit). To add insult to my frustration, the person who called me gave me sass and told me it was because of people like me that COVID is spreading. I've barely had contact with anyone since March - the riskiest thing I've done is make some trips by transit while wearing a mask. Even if I were somehow contributing to the spread of COVID, snark and judgment from a healthcare worker would still be inappropriate and unhelpful.

Years ago, I had a GP at this clinic and my experiences were quite negative. I've had a few friends who have also been here and had negative experiences - rude doctors, rude staff, MOAs not answering the phone or returning calls.

It's a shame that REACH was chosen for the new UPCC, as it seems things haven't improved any.

Was appointed a GP who is not trained on caring for trans folks. Asked for a new GP, was given much run around and 4 months after was no closer to having a new one one so left and found a GP somewhere else. Not a good place

Don't waste your time. Even if you're reffered to this place by the Patient Attachment Inittiative. They don't call you back and the staff are clueless. I've been on the waitlist for 4 months.

Started going to this clinic about 10 years ago and I had a very nice female doctor there who was very caring and seemed genuinely concerned about me but after a couple of years she left. Then I was given another female doctor who was also very nice and caring and would never rush me but again after only a couple of years or so she ended up leaving. Then I was given another doctor but this guy I did not like at all. In fact, I have a chronic illness and I need to be seen regularly by my doctor but I haven't been there in almost a year because I really can't stand him.

So yeah, I don't like how they keep changing doctors. The other thing, they, more than once failed to call me to let me know about my lab results or even the results of my CT scans! They'd tell me the results aren't back but when I insist that can't be, they'd dig more and find that they actually have the results! Someone there is NOT doing their job.

Maybe not the worst clinic but it's not the best either. At least not any more, as far as I'm concerned.

I've been a patient here for many years and was very happy (and involved with AGMs etc.), and recommended it to everyone. Now I'm looking for another place to get health care, as are a half dozen other long-term patients I know. Some of the staff and doctors are excellent, including the pharmacy team and a couple of people on medical reception, but I'm now experiencing dropped referrals (including appointments made that I was never notified of and consequently missed, or referrals that are lost), condescension from some of the reception staff, and rushed appointments (seen late and then cut off at the scheduled end of the appointment time, probably because the organization and VCH are making unreasonable caseload demands on doctors). I leave my medical appointments feeling like I've somehow imposed on my doctor, who is disengaged from my care, and feeling demoralized and worse than when I came in. And I'm not using my own name here because I don't want to be labelled a difficult patient until I find another health care provider.

Bit of a long one. Full disclosure, I met with a different doctor who went out of her way to help me, despite the clinic telling me they would stick me with a different doctor.

I went into REACH because I haven’t had (FULL DISCLOSURE) a period in over a year. I get in there with a doctor I’ve never met before (I had a different doctor before that I liked) and this new doctor sits me down and, after me literally only telling her that I don’t get a period, tells me not to worry about it. I’m just infertile. So I tell her I want to get a pap to be sure because, I’m no doctor, but I don’t think it works that way.

Well she tells me I can’t get a pap at 24, not gonna let me get one until I’m 25. Oh, look. Another red flag. I walk out, more concerned than ever about my health and have no option but to call back in a week and request my doctor again.

I met up with my fantastic doctor a couple weeks later and the moment she looks at my file, she knows something is wrong. Sends me for blood work and we discover my hormones are NOT okay. Great. So she sends me for an ultrasound. Cysts in my ovaries. Okay, okay. So basically now we w

Need to overhaul your reception services; train more people, fix your phone services. Every time I call it says you are CLOSED when you should be OPEN and able to answer the phone. Every day, every visit, same thing.

Been going here for years, a few decades actually, and always been happy, but what's with the sudden high turnover of doctors? I was with one doctor there for a number of years; she left and was replaced with someone I really liked. But I only saw her a couple of times, and then after a year was told she would no longer be there. I was not allowed to follow her to her new location for some reason. OK, well. I saw her replacement a couple of times, and barely got to know her before I got a letter saying she was leaving too. (She said they had not renewed her contract and I got the feeling it was not her decision). So now I have yet another new doctor who took over that opening. While I have no issues with any of the doctors I have seen, the continuity of care is no longer there and I have to think there are some serious issues behind the scenes to cause such a high turnover.
