Look no further for repairs. My rear wheel was making noise and was dragging the chain when coasting. I brought my bike into the Davie Street store and Sergio immediately looked at it and quickly determined the problem and that it would cost more in time charges to repair than to replace. I went for lunch and upon my return the bike was ready. For service or repairs for your bicycle, I would recommend Reckless on Davie.

Purchased a fat tire Igo bike in January from the guys at Reckless and was a great experience dealing with Sergio and others. Returned Fri for complimentary tune-up and was amazed at the promptness with which I was greeted. Pleasant, professional and humourous to boot! Cannot recommend them enough. Only place I will service my bike, and that says alot since I come from the Okanagan.

This place has amazing customer service and the tech on hand is hilarious/Friendly. I have a 'Reid' bike that I bought from here, i always bring it back for anything I need as I know how reliable this bike shop is!

I bought a BORDO UGRIP lock from here because that's what they recommended and it falls off my scooter while riding it just 2 days after purchasing it for over $150. I didn't know it fell off or I would have stopped to pick it up. I went back to the store and he said "there's nothing I can do. " Which is fine, but they should warn people that the lock has a tendency to come loose when hitting bumps or something. Lame.

I'm writing this review to share my personal encounter and insights, aiming to provide valuable information for others considering their options. My intent is not to single out individuals or harm the business with a negative review, but rather to offer constructive feedback. I understand that my input might have unintended consequences, which is not my intention. I hope the management takes this feedback constructively to enhance overall service, especially customer interactions.
My initial interaction with the store involved an inspection of my previous e-bike. The mechanic advised me to explore reputable brands at trusted local shops to avoid potential issues. Following this guidance, I returned an online-purchased bike and chose to buy from them.

Supporting a local bike shop was another incentive for my purchase, as I usually shop online.
My wife and I test-rode two brand-new Benno Boosts—a low-step model and a regular one. The regular bike emitted an unsettling scraping noise from the front braking system, causing hesitation.
The shop assured us that the issue would resolve as the disc brakes underwent a "break-in" period, explaining that such noises were normal. The purchase was made on July 31st, yet the rubbing issue persisted despite attempts to rectify it.

On August 10,2023, the shop's owner, Paul, suggested replacing the faulty part. After a couple follow-up emails, they requested the bike for repair. On August 15th, the mechanic, Sergio, estimated an hour of work for the replacement. When I went to pick up the bike, he said he swapped the rotor and conducted a test ride. He then requested twice-daily updates (via text) on brake performance! During my ride back, I sensed brake unresponsiveness and the persistent grinding noise. Closer inspection showed the rotor hadn't been replaced. How did I know? I had marked the position of contact on the rotor to identify potential rotor issue. Returning to the shop, I privately spoke with the technician. Initially, he denied, insisting the rotor was new, but conceded when I pointed out the mark. He then claimed he had pressed the rotor and immediately offered to replace it! Something claimed he’d done moments ago. The situation puzzled me, leaving me baffled about the motive behind this deception.

At that point, I knew I wouldn't return there but I just had to find a solution.
A friend suggested seeking help from the brand. I reached out to NRG Enterprises Ltd, the official distributor of Benno bikes in Canada, and luckily, they promptly responded, introducing me to another store. There, a different mechanic efficiently resolved the issue. His explanation was: "The caliper had some spacers that should not be there (attached photos), causing uneven brake pad contact and leak. "
Remember, the bike was bought brand new from them. Rather than fixing the problem they couldn't identify, their response was to fake a replacement. Unfortunately, this approach fell short.
In conclusion, there is disparities among local bike shops. Some excel in service, while others fall short. I hope businesses see feedback like mine as an opportunity to enhance operations. More importantly, I hope sharing my experience helps others find and enjoy dealing with a reliable bike shop. If you're considering an ebike purchase, don't hesitate.ebikes are eco-friendly, health-promoting, and bring immense joy. I'm thrilled with mine and ride it daily.
Purchase locally, test ride many, research, and remember, not all local bike shops are created equal. Support the ones that support you!

Over the years the crew at the Yaletown location have been taking care of the bikes I have had, but this time I decided to make an investment in a quality bike. I was able to test drive these (as they knew me well) and found a very good bike that met my needs. Their recommendations were based on bikes they have repaired before, helping me to choose one that wouldn't be a pain to maintain; who does service like that? I got terrific follow-up service as well. I feel looked after by a great crew who care as much about bikes as their customers. If you want to get a good quality bike as an investment, this is the place to go. Very consistent, reliable, reasonably administered service can be found here.

Went on my first day in Canada had to leave card details to rent the bike. Ever since this random fraudulent transactions have been going from my account which must be from here as this is the only place that I have used this particular card at. Spoke to someone on the phone who was very unhelpful and couldn’t find our detail sheet so claimed it must have been ‘shredded on the day’. Now had to cancel my card when I am on holiday and need it.

This was my first time dealing with Reckless on Davie Street. They are amazing. My mom had bought a Trike and I bought a brand new Gazelle C380 E-bike. From the moment I walked in the shop, we received amazing customer service and expertise from Sergio, Andreas and Paul. Sergio and Andreas really took the time to ask my mom and I questions on the type of riders we were. They took time with me to get just the right seat and E-bike that really fit my short frame. I'm in HR and to see Sergio coach and mentor Andreas was amazing. It's so rare these days to see young individuals like Andreas who really cares and has strong customer service skills. I know there are great opportunities ahead for Andreas for where ever he wants to take his career. Which I know is because he's getting a strong foundation from Sergio and Paul on how to run a business successfully. The added cherry on top was that after my mom took her E-trike home she realized it really wasn't the right fit for her. No fault to the team, it's just one of those situations were it just didn't work out. We came back the following week, and here is why I will never go anywhere else for my bikes and servicing. When my mom let them know the situation, there was no challenge or making my mom feel stupid that she bought the trike in the 1st place. They said "yep no problem, full refund". Tell me a business that does that these days? No one. My mom is already planning going back to partner with Sergio on perhaps other options for her. We live all way on the opposite side of the lower mainland. It takes us over an hour to drive but I will always make the trip and choose Reckless Bikes on Davie Street because of this positive experience. I'm loving my new E-bike. Thank you again Sergio, Andreas and Paul.
