Recreation Inn & Suites

Not worth the few dollars you save to book here. It’s a run down budget property with bad policies and poor customer service. Just don’t bother. Spend a few dollars more to get what you deserve.

The staff is soo friendly and welcoming and the room was spotless.slept in and missed breakfast but I hear it is great as well:)

Great place to stay. Rooms are clean, management is very friendly and helpful. JJ (Juan) at front desk is a supper guy defiantly a asset to the place. I feel very comfortable there. Its quiet so I sleep well not like other places I have stayed at in Kelowna. Breakfast is great. Will be staying there again.

It is very nice here because it is near of everything.the rooms are very clean.there were two room's.the breakfast is yummy here there is games that you can borrow and outdoor games too

It was quiet it was extremely clean the girls are clean the room were super efficient didn't miss a detail. There are lots of amenities. Including laundry, Bbq's, a picnic benches and seating as well as designated far away enough to not a pool. All in all it was a fabulous! Would stay there anytime I get a chance! Nice rooms, staff were nice. Free breakfast was ok too (waffles, eggs, toast with various toppings, juice etc) we had a car but location wasn't bad. Would stay again.

It is an older motel, but everything is clean, neat and tidy, beds were very comfy, and not "well used", staff was very friendly, and helpful, but, unfortunately the wake-up call first morning there didn't go through, thankfully a friend called me, and then I learned how to set an alarm on my phone, I will stay again if ever in Kelowna again

We booked a room for our apprentice to stay while attending his annual training. Excellent experience, great staff! The process was flawless and he really enjoyed his stay. Definitely recommend, will be booking again. Cheers, OneCall RV

I stayed here for 2 months during my apprenticeship in Kelowna, it is very close to anything you might need! The staff was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Looking forward to staying here again in the future, Thank you all!

My room was fully renovated and spacious. Front desk staff were very friendly. I'll be back again for sure. 5 stars.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a night for a comedy show at Prospera place. All in all, it was a good experience, friendly staff, clean rooms and affordable. We would go back next time!

I had the worst customer experience with the manager Mike. He was very unprofessional, disrespectful and not friendly at all when I was dealing with him. He was short with me and when he did respond it would be in a manner of talking down to me. Regardless of any situation, this is unacceptable customer service. With that said due to this unprofessional attitude i did not book a room.

One of the best place to stay in Kelowna. But only thing is they don’t have a charging point at the bed side table.

I stayed there for about 2 months. The staffs are very helpful, kind and responsible. The room was being cleaned.

This was a really good place to stay. Friendly staff. Room was fairly comfortable. Nice kitchenette. Quiet rooms. WiFi was excellent. Great location. Oct was warmer than usual, so they had left the pool and sauna open which was a nice extra treat.

Note in summer, the AC unit is loud and wouldn't go lower than 17C. Breakfast is also really sad.

I came to stay here while I looked for housing with my roommate before starting the school year. Talking to the manager, we were ensured that the hotel is pet friendly. This was perfect as we needed somewhere to stay with my dog while starting school. The manager was aware that we are both students, and that we would be bringing the dog. Upon check in, they presented a pet policy that says the dog can not be left in the room unattended, otherwise animal control will be called. This does not seem very pet friendly if you ask me (or anyone really). Especially when the hotel was aware we are students, and would not be there all day. There is absolutely no chance I would have stayed here if I knew this previously. The pet policy was not given to us until check in, not on the website, nor after asking for the pet policy specifically. If I could afford to kennel my dog 5days a week for a month, I clearly would not be staying in a motel. I can see how this would work for some people on vacation, but definitely not in my situation. The hotel was aware of our arrival, and situation yet did nothing to inform us of the policy prior to check in after payment. I attempted to rectify the situation with the manager Mike and was given no solutions. They offered no refunds regardless of the fact they withheld information. Not only this, but the hotel as a whole seems fairly disorganized. My roommate and I were charged completely different prices for the same room. It seemed as though the manager did not do a good job of communicating his policies to the staff below him. Overall, this was a very bad experience and I would not recommend staying here (especially with pets unless you are prepared for an additional boarding cost).

I wouldn't rate more than 2 star for this hotel. A old building. They still have physical keys to open the room. Bathrooms are very small and less comfortable. We had a AC installed in our that was making a lot of sound. TV was big and good. It's not worth for the money we paid.

Rooms were clean and spacious. Much bigger than I expected. Front desk and staff were really friendly. Bathroom could use a newer sink and counters and would have been nice to have ceiling fan in the bedroom. Would stay again as great location and price.

What a spacious one bedroom suite! Very clean kitchen with small fridge and stove. There is loads of storage and enough room to sleep 6. A wee bit noisy as the location is in a high traffic area. Outdoors, we enjoyed that barbecue and picnic area. There is also an indoor pool!

One of the worst places that I have ever stayed at. The AC unit that they had in the room was not keeping up. There was 27 Celsius inside the room. Additionally, I couldn't get ice past 10 p.m. I spent the night wishing I was home.

This is located in the middle of the city, close by lots of grocery shops, pizza & liquor stores.
I booked online via Expedia in a super cheap deal. ️
Hotel is divided in two parts with separate room wise parking. One part comes with two separate rooms inside & other part comes with two queen beds in the same room.

Room equipped with air condition, kitchenettes & bathroom kits. Awesome Complimentary breakfast & Wifi are included. Breakfast was really awesome which includes bread, butter, cheese, jams, milk & cereal, fruits, muffins, boiled eggs, coffee, etc…

Ice machine is also available to keep cool in hot weather?
Nice patio tables are available with barbecue facilities outside in the garden area.
Swimming pool is good enough (not so big) available with steam bath facilities. ‍️

Overall my entire family is too happy with the wonderful experience of this resort & their staff.

Good location for pets, a park across the street. Not that far drive to downtown Kelowna. They have a barbecue for the guests with seating areas. 4 out of 5 stars

I've stayed at this hotel 3 times now and I'm always impressed at their level of friendly service. Sure, it's not the Hyatt Regency, but it's certainly comfortable, clean, conveniently located.

I travel all over British Columbia for work and I tend to return to hotels that make me feel comfortable and secure (and have good WiFi). The Recreation Inn & Suites is one of them.

I'd recommend getting a suite with a kitchen, so nice to cook up some chicken, rice and veggies rather than fattening up on pizza or burgers. At the time of this review Recreation Inn is providing to-go breakfast bags at the front office (fruit, granola bar, juice box, muffin) which I grab along with fresh coffee.

If you aren't needing fancy, frew-frew chandeliers and snooty staff sneering as you walk across their marble floors in your work boots, make a reservation here at Recreation Inn!

What a gem! Comfy, clean, and quiet room; the kitchenette was a decent size-, great water pressure in the shower too. The brekkie was a cute brown-bag one and the real magic is their amazing coffee! Staff are professional and friendly. Will be back.

Really great staff, clean rooms, breakfast a pool and game room. What else could someone ask for!
Also a nice little BBQ outdoor area. I would definitely go back.

I would suggest booking direct thru them because it's easy and they get a better cut of the rental money

We really enjoyed our stay here. It was wonderful to find such a nice family room for such a reasonable price! The design of the rooms is great and accommodates everyone but still allows for privacy. The rooms were very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. It was too early in the year for the outdoor pool to be open but it looked very nice as did the BBQ/picnic area. The breakfast to go bags were a pleasant surprise and quite good. If you are traveling with kids (we were 1 kid+2 large teenagers + 2 adults) this is a great option and we will definitely be back!

A quiet, very clean basic hotel with a nice small pool for the kids. Lovely bedding and sheets as well as some green space for picnicing. Priced very well. Also located close to stores and restaurants on Harvey. Wonderful staff as well!

We booked through expedia there is some issue regarding charges.expedia says hotel is not ready for refund so talk to hotel and hotel says talk to expedia for anything regarding refund so it's horrible experience

Awful! What kind of hotel only accepts credit cards for security deposits resulting in a 20 year old girl getting refused her room that was pre paid! Was left in the middle of the city with nowhere else to go

Huge & very clean rooms. Had an excellent stay here during our time in Kelowna. The pool was a great way to cool off after a hot day & the free coffee in the lobby was the perfect stay to the day.

I booked the hotel through expedia for 4 nights due to some reason I canceled 2 nights but neither expedia or hotel nobody informed me before making changes that how much more money I have to pay as penalty moreover expedia charged me $280 without any reason when I called expedia they says talk to hotel and hotel says talk to expedia horrible experience.

We stayed for a week Feb 2021. Exterior is old but suite was perfect. New flooring, good size kitchen, separate bedroom and price was excellent for the weekly rate. Close to alot of stores restaurants and bars.

Run away! The staff and management have zero customer service skills. I felt scared and embarrassed for most of my stay. My credit card had unforeseen issues and I was sent away as they don’t take the damage deposit via debt. Was able to conjure up a miracle on my end to prevent me and my dog from sleeping in our car on New Years. I had people banging on my door late at night. Then made to feel like an idiot because I’d left my key in my lock while I unloaded my vehicle- key taken and not opened the door to a suspicious looking stranger banging on my door late at night. Just zero kindness and common sense.

Stayed for work. Room 116. Large room, and nice to have 3 beds for kids/family/friends. Respectfull staff. Tennis courts were really close by for a quick game in the mornings! Nights were very quiet.

Its budget friendly but the rates haven't depreciated as much as the rooms or the building has. Lots of late night activities which adds entertainment. Depending on what you're looking for, it may be your cup of tea.

Bad. Ive seen a mouse front desk wasnt avaible when i came in have waited more than 20 minutes outside

We stayed here for 3D2N, the room was clean and you get all basic stuff you need, coffee maker, mini fridge, local channels and cable. Bathroom seems renovated, comfortable bed and pillows/duvet.spot on and price was reasonable. The only concern was that we noticed a homeless roaming around the parking lot checking on cars - it would be nice if even the parking space has fences. I’d recommend booking from online booking to get discount instead of paying onsite.

They also pre-authorized us with $150 on our credit card upon checkin which was cancelled when we checked out (this fee is if you damage anything on the room, or if you’re booking a room with kitchenette and dishes/utensils are provided and you didn’t clean it prior to checkout, they’ll charge you for the cleaning service — this policy is very common to some hotels/motels, if not all that has kitchenette)

They have great and friendly staff that are very helpful! That being said.had trouble with the tv several times had to have them fix it 2 times as they keep the television remote in the office. Also had issues with the shower went to adjust it and it came off, making me lose all pressure when I put it back on. Also we visited during the virus and the floors were not clean there was a fair amount of dirt that gets tracked into the bed you sleep in. All in all.one of my worst stays in a hotel that cost me over $100 a night.

Staff were really, really friendly. But our stove didn’t work, there were no bowls, only one TINY pot so we couldn’t cook, people screaming outside at 3am, and the owner was rude when we brought this up to him and said we were leaving. Absolutely not worth it for the price. Don’t waste your time.

Charge full rates, but neglect to inform us that the hotels amenities were shut down for the winter.its not even october, not winter time. Non smoking yet guests are smoking in public areas. Front desk staff were very unfriendly. Had a kitchenette suite with dirty cookware. The baking pan was too big for the tiny oven, had to order dinner despite having a "kitchen". No form of credit was offered and we left the night before we were supposed to check out.

Floors were gross, turned my white socks BLACK on the bottom. Asked for the room to be cleaned and they might have done a quick wipe down, but beds were not touched and as i said earlier cookware was gross. Our pot had something black crusted inside it.

Booked room here online with a credit card to hold the room. Arrogant lady in office said room needed to be paid my credit card. They do not accept cash or debit. Waste of time. Do not even bother. Motel looked very run down best to go elsewhere.

It was horrid and kid unfriendly. Poor customer service and did not meet any health and cleanliness requirements. No covid protocol and manager was unfair and poor treatment and spammer. Took cash from us for 2 rooms and ended charging Visa without any signature and paper work. Covid measures were definitely not taken. Unbelievable treatment and lying to customers.

Deserves 5 stars for just being lovely and simple. You have to appreciate the space dedicated to beautiful gardens and the family friendly picnic tables with BBQ and a relaxed pool.little maintenance issues like a light bulb or door latch not working.
Older place well kept and Nataliya at the front counter is a lovely and friendly spirit.
Happy cleaning staff and good rooms with powerful air conditioning.
Wifi is weak as heck but it's amazing to have a real fridge and stove and microwave.
Stay here and enjoy before someone builds a four storey expensive tower on this lovely peaceful corner.

Has tobe a major credit card you know from the big banks. They dont know what cash is. So dont bring it.

Great place. Good and staff very friendly and helpful. The room was quite large, very comfortable, with comfortable beds, large t.v and suitable kitchen area. Large useable desk, lots of room to stretch out and relax. Central to near by hospital, restaurants, shopping and small park. Very easy to get around. Would definitely staff again.
