Red Apple Market

Honestly, this place is ripping people off with their prices. 3 weeks ago I bought small oranges for 1.79kg. Last Thursday they were 1.89kg. Yesterday, Tuesday they were 1.99kg. They have an abundance of inventory so I’m guessing they haven’t had to order these oranges for quite some time? Why on earth are these oranges going up. 10 cents a kg every week? I’ll leave that answer up to whoever reads this. Watch your prices and compare.

A very nice variety of fruit and produce. Prices are good but you have to compare before buying everything there. But overall I found good fruit.

No credit cards, only debit and cash but plenty of selection for produce. Love that they have European products from my childhood.

They allowed me in when they were closing! Such kind staff. Beautiful produce, no meat products per se, but, everything else you might need to fix a supper. Great little neighborhood store.

I can't stress enough how amazing this place is, honestly the prices are so fair and the quality is 95% mint condition like a Wayne Gretzky rookie card (No Bruising). I'm a straight plant eater so this place is heaven no other grocery store at least mainstream stores have even close to this quality and rare stuff to. Check out this Rainbow Swiss chard:

Great store.produce is very fresh.and when they charged me for 2 cans of salmon instead of one, I called them to let them know.they acknowledged it was their mistake and told me to come by for a refund.no muss no fuss. I will be back

They get lots of wholesale but you have to pick through lots of it cause sometimes there is rotten stuff mixed in. Need to have better quality control

Great neighbourhood green grocer that carries a variety of fresh produce, canned food, shelf stable food as well as basic dairy products and some frozen foods.

Great selection of food and produce that is piling very high, easy on the eyes, the staff is very kind and happy to help you find some thing. Always enjoy coming here. The manager is great as well

Nice selection of veggies and some notable case lot items. Organic strained tomatoes in glass jats for one.

Great selection of local and imported produce. It's not trendy and modern but don't let that fool you. They really have everything you could ask for in a grocery store. The prices for produce are good too.

I never went in yet but plan on doing so. My family are usually the shoppers and I wait in the car because I enjoy being domesticated. If this market makes my family happy then it makes me happy and it's a safe 3 stars. Once I go in, and I do plan on doing so then I will edit my review up the start rating.

I have to go to this market for years. It always has a awesome selection of fresh vegetables and other types of produce. Definitely a great way to save money if you are tired of buying your food and one of the big box shops.

Nice neighbourhood market with quality fruits and produce. They don't accept credit cards though, so remember to bring cash or debit cards.

Fresh produce and good selection of Italian and Asian ingredients. Fair prices and free parking lot.

Have been going to Red Apple for many years. Great produce, especially when local is available. Tinned canned Italian tomatoes, beans, pickles, honey, etc. Are best prices in lower mainland.

Red Apple is a perfect produce shop, with good selection and a variety of fairly priced canned goods, fresh bread, milk and eggs, etc.

Red Apple is the staple of fruits and vegis in the North Burnaby area, with a range of beautiful fresh fruits and vegetables, get in here and get in it!

My first time there, everything looked great fruit and vegetables are wonderful l will come back.

Great for fruit. Friendly staff. Ok for a few other necessities if you only have time for 1 stop. I was going to buy a whole box of oranges once and the manager told me, "why don't you come back a bit later in the season because the boxes we have now will be a bit sour and I don't want you to be disappointed with a whole box of oranges". I appreciate this kind of honesty.

Great place to get a fresh vegetables and fruites, in addition to other store products, friendly team and available parking next to it.

Fresh produce at good prices most of the time. And a variety of European food products of quality for a good if not sometimes better price than other places.

I stopped by Red Apple to purchase just apples and at check out I asked the cashier to use heavy coins I had in my wallet - in return I received an angry andwer “to go to a bank and change coins to paper bills”, making fun of me she continued but now in her own language with a colleague, in my presence, most probably talking about me, showing her annoyance with every gesture.
I gave her my quarters, loonies and toonies which she grabbed furiously and threw my bag, showing to me to get out of her way.
What did I do wrong? What kind of discrimination is that? The amount was about 12$. What’s wrong?
Horrible attitude! Discriminatory attitude.
To my request to talk to the manager - it turned out there is no manager in the store, and no one could speak proper English. More, after my call and voicemail I left nobody got back to me.
Ruined Sunday morning, only because I wanted to use change to buy apples that cost only 12$.

Great stuff, good prices, but there had been times when I got oranges from them, and the oranges were dried up inside.but I do not think it is their fault so I still like this store

Used to be very good but prices have gone up and quality has gone down. Was there again this week and prices are still high and quality still low. Not worth the price for the quality. Too bad. Used to be good.

Bought five pomegranates at the store today. Came home. Opened them up. Each one looked great on the outside but each one of them was rotted on the inside. Black/green slime. Very disappointing.

Good place for produce. Same as or slightly higher than large discount grocery stores but much better quality.

My go to for fruits and vegetables. Fresh selection and prices very reasonable compared to bigger stores. Support the small businesses!
