Great local market.
Good sale prices and variety. Their SIMON brand Steak and Mushroom pies are some of the best I’ve ever had! They also have steak and vegetables and a chicken variety.
They also have a “make as you order” sandwich counter.

Great grocery store with lots of local items, including produce. Plenty of foods targeted for dietary restrictions.

Love the place! Its where I go for those special products hard to find at regular grocers. Many local farms are sourced and the veggies are bursting with full flavor. Even the imports are chosen for quality and the freshness of flavor. I don't mind the occasional "bad apple, " keeping in mind that organic lacks pesticides, wax and other chemicals. Staff are always helpful and friendly, and the general ambiance is one of a family run business. Their deli makes the best & biggest custom sandwiches/ wraps crammed to the brink with fresh veggies too! Oh, and the deals in the meat department will blow your mind.

I was waiting in a line at the cash when there was an opening on the other side, I did not see it and continued waiting in the line. Instead of informing me, an EMPLOYEE jumped the line and took the spot, not to mention the insane prices and the long wait at the sandwich bar.

GREAT sandwiches! Really good food in the grocery store too. One thing I wish they had was organic/grass-fed meat. If they had that I'd be hard pressed to ever shop anywhere else.

Great place to pick up food from. We love the fact that you can order sandwiches/wraps ahead of time on their App, however they do not always have all the available wraps etc (spinach to choose from).

The order was made on time and very fresh. We found that they are not as full as they used to be and tend to have more of the leafy stuff (sprouts/lettuce) then the rest of the order.

The staff are all super friendly and the store is always clean. Parking can be an issue but you just have to go a bit early especially during the lunch rush.

Good produce, excellent meats, great sandwiches, good service. Limited selection, small store. No room for wheelchairs. More like a really good neighbourhood deli.

The staff at Royal Jubilee Hospital Critical care use to use them for their sandwiches All the time. They are Very Good BUT we've had problems all along.change of order forms, then NO DELIVERY in this day and age.you have to have an order in by a certain time if its a large amount. (which it always is). We complied with this many times BUT the DEAL BREAKER was, was when they made 14 sandwiches and the 1 gluten free was made with regular bread. The RN that ordered them and then picked them ALL up took two bites because she was so hungry and immediately became very ill. This RN then called the store and spoke with an employee in which directed her to speak with the Manager. They spoke and that was it. If I was in business I would be bending over backwards inorder to keep their business expecially during these times.

These people are sandwich artists! It's absolutely worth it to go in for a breakfast or lunch sandwich. The produce is also amazing.

Used to stop here for lunches, get a wrap at the sandwhich bar usually. Went in today before the big lunch rush, had 1 person in front of me and i waited almost 15 mins for one wrap. Covid sure has driven the customer service down. Unless you have 30 minutes to kill before you get your food i would skip on this loctation for the deli.

Friendly staff. Good selection. I go almost daily when I'm in Victoria. Its more expensive than some other places, but its close to where I live and the staff are great with me.

I get very good quality meats (often at great prices) and the veggies are great.

And their fresh sandwich bar is excellent.

I was very much looking forward to my tuna sandwich as I hadn't eaten most of the day but the sandwich I received could not have disappointed me more. I usually get it from the Esquimalt location and I should've stuck to that choice but I was closer to oak bay. At Esquimalt I usually receive such a generous spread of tuna and toppings that after eating half of it, I put it away because I'd be content after. However at oak bay, I received barely any tuna or guac on my sandwich. I ate the full sandwich and I was still so hungry. I was so disappointed as red barn sandwiches are generally so amazing but today all I received an hour ago was 2 slices of bread, some veggies and the thinnest spread of tuna and guac. It was almost like they were running out of things but instead of informing me that, they decided to not serve me food I paid money for. They even skimped on veggies like come on! I'd give it another go to see maybe the deli attendant was having an off evening but I genuinely don't have money laying around to give it for free only to possibly receive another terrible experience.

The staff need some basic training on how to properly make a good sandwich. More often than not my sandwich is made with the same quality that McDonald's offers. With the price of a sandwich at the Red Barn it shouldn't look like a $2.00 burger from Don's.

What a wonderful market to go shopping at, Staff are very nice and they have everything you need.

I've been going to all the Red Barns since early 2000s.first the West Saanich location followed by Metchosin, Vanalman and Maddax Farm. Was pleasantly surprised by the opening of the Oak Bay Ave location as it was a short walk from my house. They have a lot of quick grab items and quality local produce. I really enjoy the As You Like It Chiang Mai Sauce from Union Bay, BC, but its often sold out. RB has good fresh veggies and fruit, and their meats are better than other grocers. I really wish they had kept making their pork sausages in the old casing - I find the new selection is often turkey: (and the casing is plastic/too chewy. The Island Farms ice cream and made to go sandwiches are a family favorite.

Andrew went out of his way to fulfill my sandwich order, and presented a customer ethic seldom seen in today’s work force. I look forward to coming back, almost as much as I look forward to eating this wrap.

The market side offers decent products, although the assortment isn't that deep. The sandwich counter is a good alternative to Subway, but consistently offers only mediocre service.

I was unable to shop in the Market as I have an immune compromised person in my home so it is very dangerous right now as he receives chemotherapy. Scot showed up at my door in about 40 minutes with all the items I needed. I wanted to tip him and he responded "No, It is just something I wanted to do. " He is the owner of the store. This really was an encouragement in this difficult time.
Now I see that they are opening the store to seniors and immune compromised people from 7 am until 8 am daily.
These are responsible, ethical and caring people who run a great business.

Service was not good and they were out of half the breads and cheeses for the sandwiches the cashier Spencer was nice though

Their meat is amazing as well. I highly recommend the maui ribs, bacon cheddar burgers & smokies, kabobs and smoked cheese.

Poor quality produce (woody oranges, green color), and unimpressive service. The prices are high.

Awesome sandwiches! My fiance had an incident there and one of their items was mislabeled. I contacted Red Barn and they got back to me right away, apologizing for the error and compensated my fiance the next day when he went back in. We're frequent customers of Red Barn since their sandwiches are delicious, their bacon is probably the best in the city and they're the only place that we've found that sells single slices of Portofino orange creamsicle!

Excellent selection of grated cheese. My only criticism is that their floors are very uncomfortable to lie on when inebriated and being arrested for trying to steal bags of grated cheese. Looking forward to going back as a paying customer!

Sidney the cashier was great tonight. Super helpful and very attentive. We were looking for beyond burgers, couldn't find them, asked another person who couldn't find them, then asked the cashier and she went and found them. Then we mentioned we weren't able to find Brioche buns and she looked on the shelf, none there, then thought there might be some in the back and went and found Brioche buns for us as well. Two for two!

Love the sandwiches/wraps; customer service could improve - you can stand at the sandwich or deli counter and nobody (3-5 workers give or take) cease to acknowledge your presence.

Red Barn has the best sandwiches in the world. Red Barn has the most amazing products. Red Barn is definitely on my list of places to go regularly, almost every day.

My son and I come here for the fresh vegetables and fruit. We go to the one out at West Saanich, even though we live by Royal Athletic park, I like the drive, out of town and back to the Country. We went to the one in Oak Bay and found things here that the other one doesn't have, good to know.

Red barn is a great grocery store and I was yet to have a bad experience, until today. I was in the store around lunch time and lined up to order some lunch meat from the deli, while I was in line I struck up a conversation with an acquaintance while we waited for the other customers to be served. Just as we were finishing our conversation the lady behind the counter (very short bleach blonde hair wearing an orange toque) told us she was ready to take our order, when my friend and I took another 2 seconds to wrap up our conversation the lady raised her voice at us repeating "who is next? " and then scoffed and scowled at us. I realize that it may have been a busy time but there is no need to raise your voice at customers when they are simply finishing a conversation. I would expect better customer service from this establishment
