This place is not good anymore. Now in 2023, it seems it's under new management. Got ripped off twice in 1 day (April 16). They refused to replace their clear bags I brought in with empties, and miscalculated the return. Started a big argument about having to pay for bags every time. I have brought thousands of dollars worth of empties here in the last 10 years, always carefully counted and separated, and always had the clear bags exchanged for free (bring in 5 full, and get 5 back empty). I guess that is no more. And because of the unfriendly attitude, I will no longer go to this recycle place on Vulcan. They do not respond to emails, and the phone number is long distance, 2 blocks away. Scammers.

I went to another recycling point before and wanted to see more experiences of other recycling points. It turned out that there was a little difference. Although both are only recovering the cost of soda cans and other beverage bottle recycling numbers, the procedures of the two repair shops are slightly different. There seems to be a little less parking space outside this store, but there are still plenty of parking spaces when I go there on weekdays. However, the baskets where the recycling cans are placed are in the uncovered place at the store entrance. It happened to be raining today, so all the baskets were already not very clean. Now It's still wet, and if it's raining heavily, it's even more difficult to put the jars in the basket in the rain, which is not as good as putting them in the store in the previous one. The rest of the process is fine. What's interesting is that after ordering the bottles, the employees will print out a list, and then go to a machine to scan and issue change, which will reduce employee errors or other problems.

I went there for CAN/plastic bottle return. Previously, they will told me how many baskets have been used (24pcs each) to confirm how many pcs for return.

Yesterday, I went there and returned more than 5 hundreds. The guy don’t tell me how many I returned and only gave me the receipt. As my hand was dirty, I haven’t check and went to wash my hand. After that, I found 3 baskets should be miscounted and everything have took away. So, I can’t do any complain.

So, I write this review to let everyone know that you need to tell the guy how many you have (approximately) to prevent confusion!

Anyway, the service there is good!

The date was Feb. 14 5: 15pm. U can saw that I have used 23 baskets on the picture attached and the receipt show 454.

This use to be a good place, but not anymore. The staff has changed at this recycling plant.
And, is now, very rude and unfriendly. I would have given no stars but there's no option to do so.

Thank you for the reply and a course of action on your behalf.
But it is less likely we will be back to this recycling depot again after been threatened to be band from coming to this recycling depot because we left a bag of plastic bags by the can wirh a sign "only for plastics". And the staff forced us to take this bag back and took a picture of our vehicle plate.
We don't feel like come back to this place again. There is a lot of other bottle depots in Richmond which will appreciate our business.

Quick and easy transactions when there is no lineup. Cheerful associates, smiling and welcoming; great service! I continue to visit this place although it is not the closest recycling centre. Recommended!

Nice and clean place. Staff is also very professional and helpful. Very easy process too. Just take the cart & trays. Sort your recyclables and separate them by type in trays provided. Take the cart to the counter, the staff count the recyclables and hand you a receipt. Take the receipt to the cash ATM, scan the barcode & voila you get the cash…

They previously ask deposit for plastic bags and whenever you are selling back your things they will replace your bag with a new one. But for some reason, there is a lady named rahman wanted to give us a used bags. Bags are wet and i dont know the smells like. So funny that they want you to stock a used recycling plastic bags that smells bad already. Lol

Very convenient! No issues everytime! Just count how many cans and bottles you have, put it in trays and tell them the numbers, and you're on your way!

They do bottle deposits (with refund), take small electronics, clothes, cardboard, and scrap metal.
A real one stop shop.

Best place ever. No issues clean friendly efficient. Nice big carts to sort your items plenty of parking full value on refunds and accepts all other recycling materials electronic etc. Awesome!

Old lady staff speaks horrible English. Lost temper after I asked her to repeat for the third time. When I asked another younger staff to clarify, she pushed the young guy away and wouldn't let us talk. Not recommended.

It was a pleasant experience. I came in yesterday with a lot of bottles to return. The older sweet lady was very helpful and patient, and it made my day. I will go back again.

Quick and efficient they provide carts so can sort out bottles efficiently. Change return machine is slick and easy to use. Lots of parking but can get busy at peak times convenient location

Always friendly. They clean the surfaces plenty of space and open. Later in the afternoon is much busier to avoid people at that time.

I ALWAYS GO TO THIS DEPOT & HAVE FOR YEARS THE STAFF ARE FRIENDLY & VERY HELPFUL. I WOULD NOT GO ANY WHERE ELSE. EVENTHOUGH H

They are efficient and pay full deposit on all cans. Unlike The Bottle Depo in Ladner, Tsawwassen and South Surrey (140th @ 32nd) every time I've returned my empty bottles I've received the correct refund.

Ample parking, however very busy in the afternoon on a weekend. Plenty of carts and friendly staff. Non-COVID times provide 8 tables for sorting, handwashing station, and gender identified washrooms. Accepts all deposit-refundable Return-It items as well as electronics.

Eh! I found a burnt out truck in the bush. Collected 38lbs of aluminum and got nothing for it. I'll have to try find the term they used. Something something aluminum. On the plus side, the dude that weighed it and the woman at the till were both majestic human beings and it was an absolute pleasure dealing with them. Theres a dozen scrap yards on Mitchel Island. See these folks.

I have been here a couple of time recently to recycle large quantities of mixed paper. Staff have always been helpful and friendly, and have helped me lift heavy boxes.

Best bottle/can recycling in Richmond! Unlike Return It, they don't take a cut from the cans and bottles that you return. Everyone is very friendly and they always offer to help when they can.

Good customer service. All employees are happy to help.

Customer service guy help me to sort out my stuff. He explained me fully about prices of items.

I would recommend others to visit this place for best recycling experience.

Very well organized and the staff are extremely nice and helpful. I was hesitant on recycling my cans at a depot as the reviews of the recycling depots near my home had reviews of bad service and mean workers. However, Yolanda (who was in charge of counting and processing cans) was very professional, efficient and kindly informed me that some of my cans weren’t refundable (milk cartons). As well, I had some cardboard to recycle and the another worker went far and beyond in assisting me through the process of doing so. All in all, very satisfied with how the place is run and how kind the staff are.

I've been coming here for some time now and was always please until my last visit. Understandably, ID has always been required for scrap metal recycling to combat metal theft. On my last visit however i was told "no walk in's " for metal scrap. Apparently government ID is only useful if you arrive in a car with a licence plate as welI. Doesn't even need to be your car, just A car. I am %100 bike and e bike mobile for over a year now and even avoid using transit 90% of the time, so i'm no longer eligible to be paid for recycling scrap metal? And yet, still i see no mention of this policy change on the website.i'm not impressed and would go as far as to say offended at how dismissive the employee was that told me this. Seems to be a counter idea to being conscious of the environment, when someone is penalized for not relying on combustion engines for transport

Great place to bring non ferrous scrap metals. The man usually there is great always happy and knowledgeable. Fair price paid for your scrap.
