Spectacular garlic sausage and farmers sausage. Friendly staff. Visited with some nice people in the lengthy line waiting because they are so popular. You get to watch the meat cutting staff work right before your eyes as you order. Fresh!

Rempels meats sucks. Gerald rempel is arrogant. Stupid rules on jerky and pepperoni. Refuse service. To customers travelled long way. Make more duh.customer demand. Gerald refused delivery to restaurant moralgluttony. Cant be bothered. His dad rocked it.

Here's a place that makes decent beef jerky but its often not in stock. I drove over 30 min to get some recently and they were all out which was disappointing but they said to phone in next time. I called this morning and they said I just have to come in because its fist come, first served. I offered tp pre-pay but they refused that too. They even said "people come from Calgary and its first come, first served". In my opinion, this is shameful customer service. Good products, but poorly run.

***Some things never change - see UPDATE below regarding "giving a second chance" ***
We used to live in Abbotsford for 25 years and shopped regularly at Rempel Meats. We moved to Victoria in 2016 and missed getting many of the products that Rempel made, specifically their home made hot pepperoni. We happened to be on the Mainland on Saturday May 27/23 and drove to Abbotsford to pick up a long missed supply of their pepperoni. I wanted to buy 30 sticks which, when frozen, should supply us for a year when we may then be back on the Mainland to re-stock. They flatly refused to sell me more than 20, even after me telling them I was a long time customer who had travelled from Victoria to get the product. My request was still refused, this time by the Owner. I was told that I had to leave some for other customers (who most likely lived in the trading area and could attend anytime and pick up some if they happened to be out of stock). This was around 12: 30 pm, they close at 4: 30 on Saturday and are not open again until Tuesday May 30th. There was still remaining stock in the showcase as the product I purchased was from "the back cooler".
What ever happened to the adages "cash in the till", "a bird in hand" or "the customer is always right". Apparently it is foreign to the Owners of Rempel Meats. I purchased my "ration" of pepperoni and will eat it, albeit with a "bitter taste" in my mouth. I do know that my hard earned pension income will be better spent patronizing another merchant, without the cost of a return BC Ferries fare.
I've now vented in this posting, as well as to the other customers in the store that day who also couldn't believe the Owners stance.

We happened to be passing through Abbotsford on August 11/23 on our way from Victoria to Williams Lake and decided to stop by Rempel Meats to see if they have revisited their position on refusing to sell product as outlined above. Apparently not as once again our cash was not good enough for them and on the instruction of the Owner refused to sell my wife more than 20 sticks of their pepperoni (we wanted 30 to take back to Victoria and give some to friends and family on the Mainland - read "potential new Rempel Meats customers").
Out of spite and to prove a point, I then went in to the store and asked for 2 pounds of pepperoni. I was freely provided this request, paid and left the store with 12 sticks of pepperoni. In total they had exceeded their imposed restriction of more than 20 to the same "customer" as we left with 2 more than our original request. Our same hard earned pension dollars went as "cash in the till" to the Owners albeit in a roundabout way. As P. T. Barnum once said, "there is a sucker born every minute" except in this case it wasn't us!

Hands down the best Farmer Sausage in BC. Butcher quality is second to none as well. Saying they are Excellent is unfair to the level of Quality they have put out for Decades.

Super fresh and delicious, no matter what you buy. I’ve been coming here for so long I’ve gotten the pleasure of trying a good portion of their selection. Honestly came in today for some beef jerky and it definitely cured my craving. Thank you to the staff for always being so friendly and great to work with, even when I’m a little unsure of how much to order.

They have the best Beef jerky! The Bacon is to die for! The farmer sausage is a no brainer to buy! Freshest meat possible!

This was our first visit and definitely not our last. Picked up some farmers sausage which was so fresh it was still warm. Delicious is all I have to say about that.
