Ricky's Cafe - Burnaby

I came here with my husband for breakfast. The food was great and the portion size was large. The server, Maria was awesome, (believe she is from Laos) was very attentive with our needs, she was great in asking us how we were doing so far and if we needed anything else, she is such an asset to your company. I noticed that she had a good rapport with her other customers as well, people come back for your great service, clean and pleasant atmosphere. Thanks to Maria, our server, we now know where to park also. All in all it was a great experience and we would definitely be back.

Ordered through skip and they literally sent our food with no utensils at all. My wife Ordered her food without onions.it came with onions and both sets of eggs were extremely overcooked. Would I order from here again? Absolutely not

The time I spent there was amazing. I was in need for a place to set me a little notebook and cup of tea to send some proposals.tables extremely clean! Extra pointss for it.

Great Wifi service, 1/4lb burger lunch deal is greeat value.burger is juicy and well built.cheers for the kitchen staff.and a special cheer for Susan, who assisted me for the time I spent there with hot water and always paying attention if I needed something.

Excellent food and service! Not sure the last time I ate at a Rickys restaurant, but it was better than expected. Highly recommend the ginger chicken.

I was unable to enjoy the food at this location. The parking lot outside is paid parking with aggressive patrollers, but they do not provide a parking meter anywhere for you to pay.

I don't have a data enabled smart device, so you guys lost out on about $70 of business this morning, because it was unreasonably difficult for the guys to pay $3.50 for parking.

Enjoyed a delicious full breakfast at Ricky’s Cafe Burnaby. Great design restaurant at Soho. Great service & refreshing to start a day.

The waitress was friendly and deficient the food however was not the best my fries came cold my turkey felt kind of Frozen in the middle of it and I asked she she brought back new fries but they look like they were leftover and refried again and it tasted double nasty prices were way too high for the quality of the food

We had gotten into the restaurant by 6: 20pm. We had ordered our food and drinks by 6: 25pm.

It was not busy in the restaurant.only 6 tables were there.with 2 servers, and a manager standing in the corner.

We ordered a coke, and the Liver & Onions, and the Pork Schnitzel. We then proceeded to have a long wait for everything. We got the coke relatively right away. But by the time it was past 7: 00pm, it had been 40 minutes, of no food, we also did not get any refills, or any type of service at all. We were forgotten about. They were serving others slowly but ignoring our attempts at getting their attention. At the 40 minute mark, my husband went to go try and inquire of what was going on with our food, and he was just repeatedly told 'its coming'. But still no refill of our drinks.

We did not get our food till 7: 13pm. A almost 50 minute wait for our food. It then took us about 15 minutes to get the bill and a takeout box.and they still forgot the takeout box. After we paid and was packing our food, the workers proceeded to hide in the back or something because we didn't see em on the floor as we were getting ready to leave.

Never had such a horrible service before

I go to this place every weekend. Food is great, and service is outstanding. If you are lucky, Susan will look after you.she is amazing.quick, pleasant to talk to.best server ever.the other lady there is also fantastic.

Came here for brunch during the Saturday rush at around 11, when the wait for OEB nearby was estimated at around 2.5 hours for a table for 2.

It was a bit dark inside, but we got seated at a high table almost right away. The servers were friendly and service was good.

We ordered the avocado toast (avocado toast with dry greens and 1 poached egg) and the classic double egger (scrambled eggs, hash browns, ham, toast).

Both meals were okay but the scrambled eggs were more like a sliced up omelette and the toast was a little on the stale side.

The hash-browns were most likely instant out of a box. They were cold and had a sickening artificial butter flavour to them, so we couldn’t eat them.

Coffee was delicious and we were offered re-fills, but overall, the food was meh so I probably wouldn’t return.

We are long time customers of Rickys especially the Boundary Road location. But, with this new one we visited once. Server was excellent but product was disgusting. Cold, flavourless, and poorly presented. We will not be back.

I had the veggie omelet. It was good. Servixe was excellent. I recommend this restaurant for a family outing.

Food was good. Warm, could of been served hotter feel it sat in kitchen waiting for all meals to bring it out. Service wasn't great, or just lack of servers. Plates sat for 25mins and never cleared from our table before we left.

Never eating there again horrible service 4 got that i was there asked if i wonted a table i was there 4 pick up 2h 15min till i got my take out what a joke

Normal breakfast place was supprised how small of a waffle you get for 15$
And it's just a waffle no fruit nothing
And to top it off also got the Benny
And the watches did not do the wiggle test before serving it
The egg was like snot the white was even supper runny
Had to send it back to be re made into the correct order medium
Living in the city there our definitely better breakfast joints out there
But if you want basic and easy this is your place

Ordered through a delivery service. All my requests were followed and the food tasted great. Their turkey club is so delicious! Get it with a side of cranberry sauce 10/10 recommend

Came here with my parents and we enjoyed the food and hospitality of the staff. Lot of variety in the menu. Decent amount of parking and pretty new. Clean cafe and restaurant. Would come again.

Service was incredibly slow, and they seemed to have only one person one each task- one person taking orders, one person bringing our food, one person cooking, etc. The table next to us had a party of 10 and they received their food two people at a time, with 3-5 mins between. After ordering we waited 45 mins for our food to come.
Quite a frustrating experience from start to finish.

2 pc cod, 10 pc shrimp, coleslaw and fries. $20.00. Enjoyable. My wife and mother got eggs Bonny which they both enjoyed. Overall good service and good food. Nice lunch

We had such an amazing time at breakfast. The service was above abs beyond most places we have been with plenty of times being asked for extra water and coffee and checking in on us. It’s funny how few places give refills. Our meals tasted great as they always have and definitely large portion sizes too. This is a great place for breakfast and would recommend

Love the prices - lasagna is huge, very shareable - staff not only friendly but remember us everytime we come in and are so kind and patient as my partner is a person with disabilities!

Have aten here various times because of family. The food is good for most part, and if it's burnt or something they fix it. My only complaint would be lack of cleanliness. Cups and cutlery are dirty sometimes.

I came here with my family since our usual Ricky's Homestyle restaurant which was blocks away closed. I am a little sad the other location closed. The hostess and our server were both very kind and attentive. The food was great. I appreciate the two hours free parking when you dine there. Just provide your parking receipt and they credit your bill the two dollars. They also have a treasure chest with choice of toy for children when you order a children's meal.

Well the food is very nice actually, its a nice place to dine, but next time would be better to know before ordering that you are short staffed and will take longer to get your food, waiting over an hour for a burger for one person is not a good thing to do

I regularly come here with my family on Fridays or Saturdays, we are mostly on Suzan’s table. It’s a really must try place… all the staffs are friendly, the food and coffee is marvellous and the location is great. I also really love coming by myself every Mondays since it’s not too rush can concentrate and do my work with relaxation which is great and also I love to meet the two best friends servers (love their bond). They are not just friendly but they treat you really well and seeing this on mondays soothes me from stress. I do really recommend to try this restaurant out! Peace!

Good breakfast place. Just didn't like that the waitress had laughed at my studder when i was trying to order.but the food was good

We were a group of four and had brunch here, all satisfied with the food and service.
Delicious food and great staff! I loved the chorizo bowl, chicken avocado was good too. The stack of jam and peanut butter was also a plus. Oh I was forgetting to mention the coffee! Kind staff offer coffee all the time:)

I went there with my family for the breakfast. It is a nice cozy place with courteous staff. The service was good but a little delayed with a full house. Their traditional bunnies are yummy and we liked it so much that we ordered another one. The stacked waffles were yummy too. Overall a nice place and I'll surely visit this place again.

The first time I visited this place was about 3 weeks ago. There were 3 of us on a weekend so the wait was about 40 minutes, no problem. We ordered 2 breakfasts to share and still have leftovers to go. The price is unbeatable and the food is great.

I visited this place again about a week later with my brother and this time no wait at all as this is during weekday. Service in both times are excellent as we had the same waitress both time but she didn't recognize me, ha ha. Anyway the food again was excellent and plentiful. I smart up and order a smaller entree this time.

With the demise of IHOP on Kingsway, this now will be my go to breakfast joint.

We had a please to celebrate our son's Birthday at Ricky's Cafe and all of us stayed very satisfied with the food and service that was provided! Totally recommend it!

It was really good experience. The quantity and quality of food is sooo good! Yummy food and great service. A wonderful person was assigned to our table.

This is awesome small cafe in Brentwood serving clients since ages. The hosts and sever are good. 4 berry buttermilk pancakes are must try. All the breakfast menu are served till 4pm and then the lunch menu is offered.

Really disappointed since the change of ownership. This restaurant is a franchise and it is advertising as a small business this is not ok seeing people are loosing there lively hood. On top of that they have reduced the quality of food very disappointed lost a 5 year regular consumer

We have a Thursday morning coffee group that has been coming every week since 2016 and have full breakfast once a month

We even have our group photo on one of the columns. We are very pleased with the food and especially our favourite waitress Susan We usually have from 10 to 14 of us each week. Many of our group also come to lunch and dinner with wives on a regular basis. Deepak the “boss” is also very attentive and listens to our suggestions on how to improve our experience

A group of 12 of us just had breakfast here. Service (Susan) was amazing, breakfast was delicious. Many in our group commented how friendly the service was …. We will definitely be coming back…thank you Susan for the great service

This is an alternative if you can’t get a table @ OEB breakfast. There’s plenty of breakfast to choose from and you have better chance to get your table.

Our server was really really sweet to us! I love their tomato basil soup a lot! My chicken tenders were perfectly done! Overall great experience! Thank you.

Wow, what a good mushroom 3 cheese omlette. The hashbrowns were done perfectly. Definitely a yummy meal

I've been here a few times and the wait has been unbearable. Today took the cake, we waited almost an hour. The service is not good. This time the food was absolutely terrible. The Nashville burgers they had, had some nasty cheese sauce on it and made my husband sick. The soup they gave us was cold as well. Definetly not giving it another chance. Will not recommend.

I literally choose this place over any other for breakfast. Chorizo bowl always on point. The service staff always smiling. Like this place is the best place to start your morning.

Good location with some places to park around. Very good quality on food which is very well made and tasty as well as the service. Chocolate Milkshake it's awesome. Highly recommend, we will be back.

Nice casual place to eat, the people are friendly, and there is quite a diverse selection of food from hamburgers to salads, great appetizers, etc. I've not tried some of the chicken dinners but look quite good as well. Worth a stop on one of these chilly winter nights

My first time here. Went with my oldest son. Service was very good, polite and always asking if we needed anything etc. The food was very good as well. I had the philly cheese steak.loved it. My son had a breakfast dish which was also good. Will go back for sure.

Good service, diner food, love the breaky bowl. It's a good place for brunch without the 47 millennials in a line up taking selfies continuously.

This is a nice place yet It’s not wonderful as it’s very casual. For example the food was cold when served and the egg smell is all over your food and dishes. Coffee was not refilled frequently unless you ask for it. Generally it was OK though.

I'm actually surprised this location got such good ratings. The customer service is good, yes but the quality of food (take out) is very poor.

I have ordered take out from this restaurant on multiple occasions and during varying times a day (from 10am to 6pm). The quality of food is terrible. It's not well packaged. I remember on several occasions that in the chicken and waffles the waffles were STALE (at 10am!). Another time when I got the dish home it looked as if someone had already eaten the meal!

For the price you pay.quality definitely isn't there. I would not be returning at this point.

Why I gave this restaurant (Deepak and his team) 5 stars:
1. Last minute reservations were accomodated for 60 people. They were prepared for 75 people who showed up.
2. Worked within our budget and yet did not compromise the food, ambience and service.
3. The hospitality and accommodations were above and beyond.

Staff extremely pleasant, super breakfast, plenty of choice. We ate here several times during our trip to Vancouver. Highly recommended great value.

They're always so nice to my kids and give them to on the way out. The food is consistent good and it's never really that busy so it's not a problem if my toddler needs to walk around. Also the bathrooms are super clean.

Not the ''famous'' food anymore.bread tastes like plastic, cheese is worse than American cheese, bacon is slimy and stringy, do yourself a favour Skip this place for all day breakfast. You may as well head to Denny's. Whoever is franchising this specific spot is very very cheap. Food is B quality on a good day. I can confirm my review at least 10 times as I live above the resta.no I will call this place a joint.

Food was excellent, service was tops. Asked for the basic breakfast: Two Eggs - soft basted, Hash, Sausage and Toast with an order of coffee. Coffee quality was befitting the $3.5 and was good enough to have black. Only gripe that keeps it from 5 stars is nitpicky but to me important. Sausage quality was firm and hard, I can pass that off as a matter of personal preference however it was overly spiced. It was a mouthful of pepper which overpowered the taste of the meat. As for the eggs, soft basted ended up being hard basted. However since most restaurants don't get this correct anyways, it's not a big deal; I don't feel basted eggs are commonly ordered. All in all, it was a good experience. Final bill was about $17.50.

Why 3 stars? The hostess that greeted me at the front counter never came back to seat me i waited till a (manager) ? Seated me i ordered the Grand Forks Breakfast and a black coffee it was quite a bit of food and very delicious the service here is 100% better than the Henning & Boundary location i would come back for future meals

Breakfast was outstanding! We went for dinner later and it was fair. I would not recommend dinner here.

Place was empty on a Thurs night so we thought perfect place to get a quick bite and beer. Well service was fast because we're the only two customers. But we went through three rounds of the server apologizing for items not available on the menu, which was being updated for the coming week. Fair enough, change your menu, but maybe do it when you have the new menus printed and out. I ended up with chicken tenders which where very tender. Like, chewy tender. Not good. Our host was great though.

I’ve eaten here before, with my mum and grandma. And the food was great. But I just been here this past week, for my goddaughter’s birthday, and the service was horrible. I mean, I get it, it was lunch hour. It was a tad busy. So I waited for about 10minutes, patiently. But then this guy walks in, and it wasn’t even 20 seconds and he got served. I don’t know what it was: (. But I left, and went to go eat somewhere else. I’m sorry, to be negative Nancy, but there it is.
