Rithet's Bog Park

Beautiful park with a great circular path, popular with dog owners or for a relaxing walk!

Positives: lots of seasonal birds to watch, solid paths, good length for a shorter walk.
Negatives: lots of traffic noise depending on the time of the day, paths can occasionally flood at low points, trail is intersected by street, lack of cover means part of the trail is subject to wind.
Conclusion: not my favourite park, but I'm still happy it's there. I prefer Swan Lake or Beaver/Elk Lake if I'm in the area.

Terrific trails for walking dog’s (on a leash please) and relatively quiet and flat. Enjoy! All seasons are wonderful especially fall and spring here. Warnings: after heavy rains some parts of the trail may be waterlogged or completely underwater. On summer evenings be sure to wear some mosquito repellant.

I really enjoyed the walk around.
I had my 2 Daughter's with me.
My granddaughter too.
I definitely want to go back and do it again. It's a 3km walk. Thinking about jogging that one sometime.
Don't forget to look for painted rocks.
My grandson would love all the ducks.

A great place to see all kinds of birds; nice flat gravel trail is easy to walk. The only downside is the fairly high level of ambient traffic noise.

It's a nice peaceful walk around the big. You are away from traffic sounds on a well maintained, fairly level path.

Lovely place for a walk. Plus it's a bog! You don't see many of those around. Very cool place to see.

Beautiful scenery within a mostly residential area. Plenty of birds and waterfowl to see, great place for birdwatchers.

We hadn't walked the Rithet's Bog Park trail for several years and found it hadn't changed much. There were some autumn colours to enjoy and it looked like there had been some clean-up of fallen trees and encroaching overgrowth. We were disappointed by the ever-present road noise and the general lack of wildlife, although it was pleasant to see all the ducks. Overall - worth the hike and, probably, carvisit.

A wonderful trail to do. Dogs do need to be on a leash but that is okay with me! Really feels like you’re in nature and there’s a beautiful stretch where you’re walking through a tunnel of trees. Lots of ducks so if your dog is like mine be ready for lots of pulling as they try to chase them!

Like an infrastructural blackhole in the middle of Broadmead. Should have a cycling path connecting Shadywood to Dalewood. Instead bikes are not allowed, leaving families with no safe cycling route between the Royal Oak and Broadmead trail networks.

I nice loop to walk. I would love it if one day the interior of the bog could become accessible with some boardwalks. Was able to find some geocaches hidden here - makes it more exciting for the kids.

A great place to walk especially on sunny fall or winter days where other, heavily forested, Victoria parks seem gloomy. In the summer there are ducks to enjoy. One fall there was a family of owls living in the trees.

Quiet and safe area to walk. Including that with beautiful scenery, local wildlife and well maintained trails makes Rithet's Bog a special place to visit.

Rithet's Bog is a pleasant and easy walk, occasionally punctuated with the thrill of a cougar sighting.

Great place for an hour long walk around the bog. Interesting birds and some good scenery in an easy area to get to. Will visit again

I love it here, I take my pup Lila out here at least 2-3 times a week. It's beautiful at sunset, and lots of friendly people, ducks and dogs around!

Great dirt and gravel trail all the way around the park. It was very pleasant to be running around there today, even in the rain.

Great loop around the bog. Nice gravel path, not too many puddles in wet weather. Gentle hills, variety of scenery, always nice to see the ducks and hear the redwing blackbirds. Well-used but not overly busy. Can start feeling dark a bit early when you're in the treed-in areas.

Nice walk around the park with no horse or (very few) bike traffic. Lots of benches and mosquitos.

Beautiful park. Quiet and peaceful. About 3km around the bog. Trail is easy and we'll maintained. Only one large hill and the rest is fairly flat.

Wonderful nature preserve in the middle of Broadmead. Run is a few times a week when I visit the island.
