Rocky Mountain Buffalo Ranch

We went for the daily tour at 10: 15. Unfortunately the owner and guide Leo was sick but one of the hired hands gave the tour and he did a great job even though he had only been there a couple months. Really cool to see all the buffalo as we are from Nova Scotia and don’t have those animals back home. The kids said that it was cool to go there.

What a great place to be. Leo, the host, gave us a really good experience with the Buffalo Tour. He has so many stories to tell you and much insight of these great animals. Worth every dime. Great for families too. We will surely come back for a stay in one of the lovely cabins. Such a quiet powerful place which makes you think what’s really important in this world. Thanks again Leo!

We stayed in the Sauna Cabin for 8 incredibly cozy days in January and it was an experience we will never forget.
No electricity in the cabin, just a fireplace in the sauna for heating, a smartly built kitchen with enough utensils to prepare lovely meals, phenomenal mountain view, lots of snow and -4 degrees Fahrenheit/-20 degrees Celsius.
It was the perfect mixture for a quiet, peaceful, „back to basic“ stay, that opened our eyes in many ways and will forever stay in our memories as one of our all-time highlights on our world trip.
We would LOVE to come here again and miss this place so much!

Just went for the buffalo tour. Leo provides a lot of information and peppers it with interesting tales of his past experiences. Nice location, impressive buffaloes, friendly host.

Visited on June 3,2023 for a Bison tour. Amazing place, totally worth visiting. There were 19 bisons, including 5 calves, and Leo, the owner, knows everything about them. He gave us a wonderful tour, we could see these huge animals from very close. Most of the reviews here are quite old so I want to confirm this place is still in business and welcoming visitors

I did not stay over night but just a tour of the ranch. It wasn’t a “show up see Buffalo and leave”. Leo was such a nice, welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable person. He informs you of the history of the Buffalo, tells you his experience and answered any and all questions. Extremely unique experience and a great place to stay where you will feel truly connected to the land.

This place is truly magical. Amazing views and Leo is very wholesome and welcoming. Waking up and seeing the buffalos is such a special experience. I highly recommend staying here!

We spent three nights in the "Sauna Cabin". It was great from the start. The cabins are very far apart and you have your absolute peace. Leo the owner is very friendly and accommodating, always available and helpful. At the ranch you can take a guided tour to the buffaloes every morning, where Leo explains a lot.

Before you book you should be aware that the huts have neither electricity nor running water! There is a solar shower and several canisters with fresh water. Cooking takes place in the outdoor kitchen. For the cold nights there is a wood stove and a small gas heater. The toilet is also off-grid = sawdust instead of flushing. We thought it was great (despite the first destination being a 10 hour flight and a 3 hour drive)!
