Rodney's Oyster House

This was a great place for seafood and good times. Caught it at low tide for the oysters and ALL the sauces. Unlike other oyster bars, these sailors know what their customers like with their shellfish. Cool menu "boards" Got the Oysters, Crab dip, and Calamari. Add in some great service and good atmosphere, and I know we will come back here again. Great job to the crew that day!

This is my favorite oyster bar that I always visit when I'm in Vancouver.
The happy hour time has been changed to 2pm on weekends.
As always, the oysters are at the highest level of happy hour quality.

Great food and ambiance.
The staff is friendly, fun and knowledgeable. They will make sure you have a good time.
Music is great and the oyster bar puts on a good show
Of course the food is delicious. Cold, hot or in between you will make no wrong choice
Oh, and have a spicy Caesar!

I live in Ottawa and always visit Rodney's Oyster House when I am in Vancouver. I love sitting at the bar with a couple of friends enjoying fresh shucked oysters and an amazing Caesar and/or house lager. I love the venue, great food and service. The steamed mussels are another favourite.

Shrunk portion sizes? We used to go to Rodney's a lot but less so these days. I didn't know they had shrunk their portions, or else we would've ordered differently. We took our friends from out of the country here as a treat but was greatly disappointed. We ordered 3 apps, a bunch of oysters and some mains, all to be shared at the table. We ended up getting portions that looked like it was for a taster menu. The portions were so small that not all 5 of us could try all the items. We didn't say anything mostly because we were in pure shock; we grabbed our bill and had to take our friends to Cactus Club for dinner instead. Not sure what happened to Rodney's, but we won't be going back if those are the portion sizes at that price point.

Wish the menu had more options and the music was quieter but altogether great food and Michael’s service is top notch. Thanks for another great night Michael!

Waited for 40 minutes to get our foods. Foods are excellent, love the fresh oysters and scallops.

Best seafood I've tried in Vancouver

This place has the best seafood. We had the west coast oysters and they were fantastic. Then seafood pasta and the halibut. Both excellent. The food was a bit slow in coming; the waiter said they only had one person shucking that night, but he topped up our wine and all was forgiven. Definitely recommend.

Came here for lunch and ordered their steamed claims with fries. The clams were probably the best I've tried in Vancouver. The taste was just right, and the juice was just filled with clam flavours. Service was great here as well, the servers were prompt and had a very chilled attitude.

Oysters are fresh and tasty. The pasta is on point as well. Good spacing between tables feel very safe and free eating here. Service delivered from this location is superb. I think our host tonight is Ian he genuinely wants to communicate and want to make a connection with guests.

Extremely disappointed with the service. We had reservations at 6: 30 and we arrived 10 min earlier. We were asked to wait outside which is ok for COVID. Our table was empty since we got there and and they still sat us at 6: 35. So not a good start.

Our server was nice at first and fun and joked with us which was great. But then it was completely down hill.

We ordered 24 oysters to start.
From 6: 45 until 7: 45 and we still haven’t received anything even though he told us twice they are on the way. At 7: 25 he said their on their way now so we ordered our mains. As he was leaving he asked if it was only 12 oysters we ordered? What! Are you serious! You just said their on their way!
7: 45 we get our mains and and still no oysters!
We told him to cancel the order and I was about to cancel the mains also since we are not being well served.

There were 4 table that came after us, got their oysters, ate, left and we were still sitting with no food. We also ordered drinks and still did not receive them.
Another waiter came to take the hot sauces thinking we ate already but we still didn’t receive our appetizers 1 hour after being seated.

What a shame to what you have do to the place and service is horrible.

Be advised: now under new ownership. This used to be a go to happy hour (Low Tide) destination with the girls. Super fun servers, great deals & cheeky t-shirts. Imagine my surprise when I roll in and the place is *empty* except our table. We find out through the grapevine that new ownership is looking to make it more family friendly. There has been an almost complete staff turnover, uniforms have changed and so has the atmosphere. Service and food/drinks was still top notch but be aware that there have been changes - this might not be the happy hour you're looking for.

- Minus one star for calling to come back because table is ready after one hour wait and then making us wait another 20min because table was not ready.
- Minus one star for placing us at the corner of a bar where i was getting bumped in the elbow by waiters doing running past me and doing shop talk. Not a relaxing atmosphere to eat $4 oysters.
- Minus one star for caesar cocktails out of CLAMATO CAN.really? !? ! Charging full cocktail price for premixed out of can drink.weak.
Great place but just because you have fancy location doesn't mean you should stop trying. Do Better just other oyster bars in Vancouver area.

Expensive but delicious food. True to its maritime theme, the ambiance is casual and very relaxed. Servers are approachable and funny. Will return.

Amazing service, oysters, hot sauce and mussels! They were gracious enough to give us complimentary bread for our mussels to soak up all the buttery goodness too. Can’t wait to come again!

Lobster poutine and scallop pasta are nothing special but you're here for the oysters right?

My brother and I ordered 28 oysters total. Our server gave us a mixed batch with oysters from PEI and some Kushi's

The PEI ones are pretty good. If you want less raw tasting oysters, get these ones. They taste like they spent some time in the sun and someone blew hot ocean air on them

I personally like kushi oysters and these ones tasted just fine but the size of both kushi and PEI are TINY!

They're half the size of what I normally get. Don't really recommend this spot if you plan on binging oysters

PS: if you're ever in whistler, araxi is the spot for oysters

Mmmm those kusshi oysters! Visited for the first time and we have an awesome experience! Oysters and crab yum! And the staff was great, will be returning for sure.
