Rodney's Oyster House

Been here wayy too many times to count, and this is the first time for me to sit down and write a review on the place. It took me maybe 5 years for me to write a review about this place now? LOL.

Every time I come here I leave happy, buzzed and felt like I had a great night. It could just be that I would order 3 of their Caesars, endless plates of oysters or maybe it was the guys that work there.: P

For sure coming here during happy hour for their low tide special on oysters are amazing. Every single oyster are perfectly shucked, and the abundance of sauces just give it all the glory. But, I 100% recommend their ceasars though, because it is a huge glass of booze, clam juice, and garnished with a huge prawn. What is there not to like with a good glass of booze for the night?

Always come here with a good group of friends, get some drinks, get some oysters, scout out the waiters, and have a good time. You will find me here during summer, and sometimes in the early spring.

Sat at the bar with Mckenzie yesterday for some wine and oysters! We had such a fun time and the environment was great! The oysters were out of this world but the service is what we really loved!

Service and atmosphere was great! Food I was expecting more to be honest. Nothing to write home about.

Great place. Casual vibe. Fantastic oysters. The host, Miguel, accomodated 10 of us with only a last minute reservation (by phone … don’t use the app). Mina was the best waitress ever. Efficient, good recommendations, very nice. Our group had a great evening.

A small happy hour menu with raw oysters. Hot food items are average on the prices they charged.

After absolutely fantastic food and hospitality at Rodney’s in Toronto, i booked at Powell str. Location in a heartbeat only to be severely disappointed. Had booked a table in advance but was given a place where a totally novice server who was on his first day was attending without supervision! Soon our questions about the dish was beyond him as i hav several intolerances and needed to make sure i was ordering whats ok with me. The menu was the biggest bummer as it didn’t hav anything like their toronto restaurant and no bread on the house either to get started. The “experienced “ server didnt get what i meant by lactose / dairy intolerance and finally ended up getting my dish wrong altogether, had ordered Scallop pasta instead got served and charged the seafood pasta. There were mussels which were closed and hadnt been checked before using them in the pasta! With a 100$ bill and high tip expectations my experience has been below acceptable and will never visit anymore

Always a good time. Finally got to use my gift card. Sad my gift card is maxed out but looking forward to returning sometime soon

I love this spot! Bobby, Charlie and Chris are exceptional. They always greet you and check in throughout the experience. Exceptional service every time. The kitchen create amazing dishes that you find yourself ordering way more than one item on the menu. Great value. A destination spot for any Vancouver foodie. Cheers friends.

Charlie, Bobby and Chris made our bar experience phenomenal! The food and drinks were great and the interactions with staff were next level! Amazing experience!

Wow! Can I move this place with me to Scotland? ! I wish I could.

The food was exceptional, the quality of oysters was excellent, and the service, including the knowledge and passion of the staff, is very visible.

Atmosphere is electric! I also tried my first cesars here. I loved it.

Amazing service, amazing food. Staff were above and beyond on hospitality and the menu offerings were delicious! Well done to the kitchen! Great server as well and took excellent care of our table!

This place is a ‘must’! Here, one can find delicious oysters, and the happiest Happy-Hour (complete with generous pours of wine)! All service members took excellent care of us, and the delightful conversation they fostered made us feel truly welcome. My only regret was that my Husband & I didn’t visit again for a full meal while on vacation in Vancouver.

Had a great time here the other night. Nate did a fantastic job in taking care of us. Can't wait to go back again.

Pricy for what you get compared to other restaurants.
Seafood Pasta for $37 had 2 medium sized scallops, 4 smaller shrimp, 10 assorted shelled clams/mussels. Sauce was over spiced (not hot) and missing a fresh component that could have balanced it out a bit. Scallop pasta dish for $36 with 5 medium sized scallops and a bland cream sauce (missing fresh or acidic component or something).
Bam Bam Honey shrimp was good but the shrimp were smaller than expected for $22 but there was a decent amount of them.
Hostess was good but serving staff was just alright - don't go here if you aren't drinking as you won't get service as good as other tables that are. It is was very obvious and made didn't improve the atmosphere. It is a bit loud when the places fills up but you can still hear your dinner companions.
However they do have a great wine and beer menu for those who do partake.
The restaurant was clean and well staffed. Should have reservations if not going during happy hour (which is before 6).
Table had wood splinters coming off but the tables were spacious enough for multiple plates and they can accommodate larger groups.

We tried seafood pasta, clam chowder and oysters. Oh man oysters were fresh and seafood paster was a bomb! It’s unfortunate that i couldn’t memorize what all the sauces are. There were 8 of them or so.

The meal for 4 was ~$400. The oysters were very good, and service was just attentive enough. We had clam chowder, scallops, clams, and a few other sides On balance a very nice meal. However, I can't get over the $2.50 for a side order of bread. Not even a nice plain baguette to sop up all the sauces. Don't charge for bread on a $400 bill. -1 star for this.

Absolutely worth the nearly 200$ we spent here. The super tall gentleman serving us was lovely! Food was fresh, tasty, and beautifully presented. Loved the ambience and totally would come back/recommend to others. 10/10!

We got fresh oysters, crab cakes, jalapeño shrimp, bam bam shrimp, crab legs, and lobster rolls.

The food was amazing, the service was also professional and friendly. Especially shout out to Peter who was our lovely server, thanks a lot for being so nice guys. (thanks for letting us dance with our turkish song as well!) Go go go everyone and enjoy your day in peace
