Weird vibe, there was some lady who worked there and was scrolling through her phone at full blast volume and she kept changing the tv channel from
A movie to music every 2 minutes. Felt like it was her living room rather than a nail salon with clients. Nails were fine

I went to this salon recently with my friends for pedicures. One of my friends apparently had some skin that was ingrown so she started to bleed during the pedicure. All of us told the staff to stop doing the pedicure multiple times when she started bleeding, as we were concerned about infection and it was simply just painful, but they did not listen. It is also important to note that my friend who was bleeding tends to faint at the sight of blood, which we told the staff but still they did not stop. They continued to use antiseptic ointment, tools, and powders on the affected area. Clearly consent is not much of a concern here, and we felt extremely disrespected. Overall, we were not satisfied with our service and will not be returning.

There is a huge difference in technique depending on which nail artist you ask. My second time here was terrible.

When I had my nails removed, my natural nails were shaved off so much so they became very thin. As a result, my nails would easily bend when I was drying my hair or using my fingers, which made my daily life annoyed so I cut them short by myself.
Also there is uneven color depending on my finger.
When getting my nails shaped, my skin was scraped with a file. It was very painful. Everything was the worst.

I won’t come back again.

I’ve been going to Romantique for 5 + years and I always love my nails. I get the gel mani and regular pedi and I’m always ecstatic!

Will go back to have regular nail polish put on. I found gel polish beautiful but it really ruined the strength of my natural nail

Won't go back. My nail broke so went to fix it. Only to be charged for the pleasure of their poor quality and a nail which didn't even match the original colour. I don't enjoy being in this place either not a relaxing environment.

I used to go this salon a lot, gave them a lot of business over the years. I stopped going because they cut my friends leg doing the scrub during a pedicure. I gave them a go again and I regret it, got a pedicure at the weekend. The polish chipped that evening, called and they said return any day to get it fixed. Returned today, had no problem waiting to be seen as they were busy. Then the lady just wanted to just do a dot where the chipped nail was. I explained i would prefer it repainted so it wasn’t obvious but she started to made an issue over repainting one nail so I decided to leave. Such a waste of time and money as I will now have to go somewhere else after just paying to get them done here. I am disappointed, I like to give second chances but there will not be a third. Customer service was very poor today.

Best nail salon in Vancouver hands down! Staff are so nice and they always do such a great job. Whenever I get both a mani/pedi they have one person doing my feet and another doing my hands which is so nice

Very disappointing pedicure. Clipped my skin 2x, barely did any exfoliation, and there was way too much polish on my skin.

Fantastic spot! Staff was incredibly accommodating with a last minute booking and the pedicure service was speedy and precise. Will be coming back!

Endeavoured within via recommendation from a few friends. Indulged in manicures and pedicures for our group of three. Absolutely FANTASTIC service, nails looked exceptional. The staff are very friendly, detail oriented and amazing at doing what they do. Highly recommend this place

I had booked an appointment a week in advance for a mani pedi and asked for a specific nail technician for my manicure. I get to my appointment right on time and when I get there, the person at the front said that the nail technician I booked with is already working on someone else and they had booked me for mani pedi but no notes about which technician with. Since I had booked the appointment for a maternity photo session and the other place next door was booked I agreed to have it done by whoever is available. After picking my nail polish and sitting down the lady comes to me and says that we can only do your pedicure today and no manicure. The salon was pretty busy and looked like they had overbooked. I had been going to this place for years and didn’t expect such a service. The person I was dealing with did not even apologize and was very rude.

I sent them an email over a month ago and got no reply at all. Would i ever go to the salon where people don’t even bother answering their potential client’s questions? NEVER

The 2 women i dealt with where very nice. I had my eye brows waxed and they are beautiful! I also had my nails done. They are beautiful not think like so many places want to do as soon as they hear i work in construction. They also have a very larger color selection.

Well, that was disappointing. For the amount the nail fill costs, it was a mediocre job. I’m so unimpressed by the techs job skills that I’m tempted to rip my fake nails off and go get a brand new pair else where. The ladies were polite which is why I’m giving 2 stars. But I left that nail salon very frustrated and unhappy. I wanted to walk out 15 minutes in to my service. I kept having to ask her to fix the shape and in the end they are all inconsistent anyways. She kept scraping my skin with the tools as well. Overall not happy.

Meh. I went and got an acrylic refill, ended up charging me 20 dollars more than expected for an acrylic refill. Nails aren’t done that great, the tips of my nails are quite sloppy for the price that I paid.

So unprofessional, so rude. No customer service skills whatsoever. I went in for a fill and oh lord do I regret it! I legit had to finish doing my nails myself (I’m a licensed nail technician) I have worked at all of the high end nail salons in Vancouver from bling, Posied, varnished, Elle boutique. The lack of care and passion was a shame.

I really wanted this place to be my local salon - but I'm not going back. I went in for a standard manicure - no gel or designs. This should be easy.

Pros: Staff was nice and my technician was pretty new / slow, but wanted to do well and it's decently priced.

Cons: (1) the nail polish was *ancient* and was very thick and goopy. It *never* dried. Hours later (after quick-dry polish AND dry drops), my manicure completely smudged. I expect the polish at a salon to be fresh or at least functional. It looked like many of their OPI polishes (not the gels) needed replacing.
(2) I asked for round, but got a square with round edges, then I asked for almond shape (hoping it would be a true round) and had to further explain what I wanted. This should be *basic*.
(3) I reached out to the salon the same day providing them feedback and a picture (and an opportunity to remedy the situation) - got zero response. It was my anniversary weekend on top of that so now I had gross nails (and lost hours of my time).

I'm not sure how they're so highly rated having issues with such basics like the quality / age of the actual polish, but I wanted to leave this review so that if you're not going for gel mani (which maybe they're fantastic at), you should look for another place.

If I could put negative stars I'd put -5, at least.
I called and asked 3 times if they have Shellac, they said yes so I booked. When I got there, I asked again for the Shellac colors and chose what was supposed to be Shellac. To my surprise, I saw them applying Gelish! Unfortunately I didn't realize earlier, only at the last top coat >: x!
It has truly been the worst nail service I ever had, I specifically asked for a product and was told to my face that I was getting it, all lies.
Now my nails have gelish and are all ruined and will be even more so when I remove the gel. For those who are curious, Shellac is softer on your nail, as is the removal, that's why I was very specific on wanting Shellac!
The service was terrible and rude, I am truly telling everyone I know to not even go past there.

Was looking for a nail salon in the area and found this gem. Tiny but cozy place to relax and get nails done. Staff were friendly. Did my nails, pedi and foot massage. Went back for repair when i accidentally broke two of my beautiful nails after few days, free. Thank you for the great service! I will be back for my gel fill.

Update after 5 days, my shellac manicure got chipped. It is not worth the money and time to go for any service this nail salon.

I went to Romantique nails for shellac manicure. The manicure was okay.however, there was no ventilation in the salon and there was a strong smell of glue and paint. The place is not clean at all and they don't sanitize their equipment / chairs. The chair they offered me was full of nail powders from previous people. Super concerning in terms of COVID.

Romantique is a friendly, cozy nail salon with artists who are passionate about their craft. They always go above and beyond with their services, and the massages post-service are just heavenly. On top of it all, they are strict about adhering to safe pandemic policies.

My gel manicures last a really long time when I got them done here. They try their best to accommodate you. Hundreds of polish colour to choose from, literally.

Love having this salon close to my place. I have been going to Romantique Nails for a little more than a year. Hanna is very knowledgeable, professional, and friendly.

Wonderful pedicure experience by the friendly and attentive staff. Their massage techniques were perfect. We added the paraffin wax to top it off!

I always get a shellac manicure and pedicure here before I go on a trip. They last forever! The staff are also really nice here. Here's a picture of mine 2 weeks after I got them done. Still good as new!

Without a doubt the best manicure and pedicure I’ve had anywhere (not just Vancouver). Beautiful work by skilled nail artists and I’ve never actually had a shellac manicure last the advertised time before. I’m on week 2 chip-free — what is this voodoo? ! Save your pennies and come here, it’s worth the splurge.

I called about three hours ahead to book a removal of my old nails and a new acrylic set. The lady stated that it was fine. When my sister and I walked in all of them were on their phones, when she told me that she had a lot of clients and that's why they couldn't do what I asked for. When I arrived she kept ignoring what I was asking for, and wanted the easier and faster way of doing my nails. I politely declined her suggestions and she then stated that she had no time to do what I asked for. I started to get angry and just asked for her to remove my nails. When a white lady entered all the ladies turned their attention to her and she rushed my removal to help her with her mani and pedi. The lady doing my sisters nails just left without telling her and went to help the white lady. Poor customer service, they do not listen to the clients and obviously have favouritism. I was shocked considering all the good reviews. Never coming back and telling everyone I know not to come back.

Came in for a mani/pedi & the women working here are absolute gems. Feeling super cute with these sparkly blue nails, meow! My natural nail cracked under the gel polish two days later and they fixed me up, no questions asked. Highly recommend this place.

Kathy did an amazing job on my ful gel set! I came in with very short nails and she made them look so natural, and even better looking than when I had a gel set over long natural nails. They are smooth and not thick at all and the shape is exactly like the picture I showed her. She was also so patient and took the time to explain when I didn’t understand exactly what the process was and the different options between soft gel, hard gel, and acrylic sets. She didn’t try and up-sell me on the slightly more expensive, but more durable and healthy hard gel option. She was also very nice when I kept changing my mind I am so in love and I can’t wait to come back for my fill. Thank you girls!

Very professional and super sweet my toddler wanted her nails done so they were patient and helpful

Super frustrating. I went to have my shellac colour changed on my toes. I have no callous on my feet and don’t particularly like the foot massage so I didn’t want the full pedicure. They told me that I’d be charged an extra $5 to remove the shellac (despite the service I was asking for was called ‘gel nail polish change $35’) and proceeded to tell me that the $40 price would not include my cuticles. I’ve been to several nail salons and have not been so aggressively upsold before. I won’t be going back.

Great service at Romantique Nails. My shellac manicure always lasts more than a month and shellac pedicure has lasted as long as 3 months. Just regular lounge chairs without massage capabilities and large basins for your feet if getting a pedicure. Vibe could be better but at the end of the day my nails and eyebrows look great every time.

Happy about how my nails turned out. The staff just spoke in a different language the whole time I was there.

I went there for my birthday on May 21st and since then I’ve had 3 ingrown toe nails that got infected and are still struggling to heal today. 2 of them are my big toes, and they’re swollen from the infection which causes me to stub them continuously, resulting in constant aggravation. I actually need to go see a podiatrist to fix them. I am actually terrified of ever having a pedicure again! So painful I am limping when I walk! I don’t remember the name of my girl, sorry: (but I am sure they’re not all inexperienced.

Would love to give them a great review considering the other amazing stories! The lady on the phone was quite helpful and let me know that they had space and I could swing by. I was on a tight schedule and needed to be in and out but really wanted my heels filed. The ladies proceeded to tell me that with that time frame, I would only be able to get a pedicure. I'm not crazy about the service or how my toes turned out. I think this would be a good place to come when you have a lot more time.

Went there for the first time yesterday. They were able to take me right away which was great and unexpected. They were quite busy. The staff was very nice and I’m very happy with my nails. Definitely my new place.

They've made a customer out of me. The decor was cute and the service was lovely. My nails chipped a few days in. They asked me to come back so they could redo the WHOLE manicure for free! It's a week and a half later and my nails are chip free and fantastic!

Best place in the city! Lots of colours, lasts forever! I had my gel nails for over month and zero chips or peeling. Decently priced too.
