After several times of saying "I'll never go there again", I gave them another chance. I brought in a photo of the item and the SKU number off their website as it's always difficult to find a staff member with any product knowledge. I purchased the items and wasted a good 45 minutes searching for it or anyone who could help in the yard. Eventually I was told to go see contractor sales who informed me they didn't have the item in stock. As usual, I wasted a bunch of time, left frustrated and destined for Slegg Lumber. That was the last time I will even walk through the door or spend another dollar there. Always out of stock, staff members have zero product knowledge and they always seem short staffed.
Worst Rona ever. And all Ronas are pretty bad. What does that tell you? All the ladies in the commercial department like to treat you like their child, minus the spanking. Literally the worst customer service attitudes I've ever seen. They obviously hate their jobs and lives. I pity them.
My local Rona is the worst hardware store one can imagine. The employees know nothing about anything. It’s like being stranded in an airhead ward on some alternate universe. It’s a fend for yourself type or affair in a store that never has what you need. I ended up ordering a sink from Rona Online recently, I had to call 3 times to find out the item is delayed by 3 weeks and wasn’t even dispatched.
This Rona does not provide proper service. They are horrible to do major projects with. I definitely wouldn't purchase anything major here. Zero customer satisfaction.
I'm constantly disappointed by this rona. I have gone there several times for simple items and they rarely seem to have them or they are always out of stock. I would highly recommend calling in advance if you choose to go or just make the drive to another store where you won't be disappointed. Staff are friendly though.
Very unimpressed by Halloween monster in your store. My niece was terrified and I’ve heard others were too! WHY do these things have to get more freakish every year and WHY are we supporting it by buying the garbage? Our kids have enough to deal with in this crazy world. Please consider removing. Thank you.
Very friendly staff and knowledgable staff, dog friendly is a huge plus, especially in the summer months! Lumber yard is a bit unorganized (often missing signage). Also need to be picky when getting wood, as a lot of bowed and sub par lumber.
I only go to this place as it is the closest to where I live. I’ve always told myself not to shop here, and this time I will truly heed to that inner voice, as the staff are rude, online ordering system is abysmal, no clear written policy to be seen about what service they can or cannot do, and management (floor manager, assistant manager, and manager) are vague and unprofessional. Home Hardware and Canadian Tire are far better even if they’re farther.
As a side note, don’t ever buy your paint here. The floor manager told me that once the product leaves the store it is store policy that they won’t shake the can for you for reasons that are unclear.
I was very impressed yesterday with three of the staff who were hardworking and dedicated when understaffed. They deserve recognition.and some sort of bonus for all the extra work they did. Thank you for caring and finding that weed trimmer.
Horrible customer service. I am constantly disappointed. They need a new manager or something to come in and clean out the dead weight of employees that refuse to have a customer service attitude. I can put up with the unknowledgeable staff, but the ones that just try and avoid customers need to go. Today was the only day I have ever been approached by a staff member. It wasn’t to help me, it was to inspect the drywall I was unloading by myself (after already being inspected at the front gate). There were 3 guys standing around watching me struggle until one from the balcony said they should go check out my return. I heard them radio’ing the front gate to check on my return before approaching. I saw them do the exact same to another contractor before me. So strange. Thanks for all the help
Staff are super friendly and willing to assist. The PT wood is not always the best, and has been picked through; however, yard staff are eager to help and get me skids down as quickly as possible.
We had found the weed trimmer that we wanted in stock online at RONA Cobble Hill. There was only one left in stock at the store. We phoned to ask for it to be put aside for us. It was taking a while, and it was near closing time and the attendant who answered our phone call did not return our call as soon as we had expected, so we phoned again and a different attendant told us that the store was "swamped". So we decided to go to the store to get the trimmer in person as we thought that would be most effective. When we arrived, we discovered that the store was understaffed, but the staff that was there were extremely helpful: three dedicated staff members did their best to locate our trimmer! It took probably an hour since the original phone call to find it, they did not give up, and they eventually found it in an unexpected place in storage. So we give the staff high marks for customer service and dedication to the store.
We are frequent customers at RONA Cobble Hill and we like that place and its staff.
Ordered a door with total value close to $5000. Had to babysit Rona to get them to communicate with the manufacturer regarding delays. Repeated phone calls/emails/texts every few days and they said "we haven't heard from them yet". Well.call them back. The door came 2 months late and the wrong size with damage holes in the door and dents. They offered a $175 refund on what now looks like a second hand door which was sized too big. There were extra costs to get the painters to return due to the delay, and extra cost to resize the door opening. Ordered deadbolts in Feb and instead of ordering right away, they ordered just at start of covid in March and then said its manufacturing problems. Instead of offering a solution or saying right out they can't get it, they kept saying its coming in. 4 months later "its still coming in". Now i have to pay extra for the installers to return if and when it comes in. The $175 worked out in their favour because that is the cost of the delivery back to their store should i denied and returned the door but i have them the benefit of doubt. I should not have as after multiple many more text/email/phone calls, there has been zero communication to resolve my issues from the manager. I have asked the manager to call me back but to date.zero communication. Its basically its your problem you have a damaged door that was delayed and your problem that we cannot get the deadbolts in for you; plus we are not going to call you back because we don't care about our customers. But hey, we Rona saved 175 dollars because we don't have to pay for return shipping and saved thousands because we don't have to take that damaged door back. So good on us.
We have had mostly great service especially in the paint department. One fellow is extremely helpful and knowledgeable and is there most days. Nice store to have in the neighbourhood especially during covid lockdown.
The manager Bryan is very unprofessional and does not care about his customers. He is apparently to busy to listen to any of your concerns. My recommendation is go to Home Hardware. Great Staff there and great customer service. Unprofessional manager leads to unprofessional apathatic staff.
This rons is one of my favourite stores! The people are fantastic as is the service they provide. Their website mechanism is the best I have utilized anywhere.
If I could give Rona a ZERO I would. Consistently the worst service ever. If you need 4 items they may have 1. I drive by and go to Duncan or drive to Victoria
Their site has a 24 hour delay on refreshing inventory, which is why when you order something they may just cancel it afterwards because they don't have it.
Customer service desk representative Nancy.did the answer the phone hang it up.second time put me on hold and didn't answer.third time hangup again.fourth time someone other then Nancy actually helped. But they don't carry 6 inch big o pipe or drainage tile.a standard in house drainage systems. 4 inch is too small around a house. No wonder Lowe's is closing the Rona stores.
Brought a recalled heater in, they took the heater, took my name and number, told me they would call me back, and forgot about me and probably lost the heater "by accident". Will never get my business.
Helpful staff! Had traveled to the area to go biking but my seat became loose and unusable. Went into Rona to purchase a wrench but instead of me purchasing new tools, the staff used their store tools to fix the seat and the man who helped me, effected repairs on my bike himself w a smile on his face! Small town hospitality at its finest! Fantastic experience! Thanks RONA!
Inside staff totally incompetent. Went 2 weeks ago to buy softener salt. Looked outside, none there. Asked cashier who said, Oh, yes, for sure it's out there. Paid for it, took slip out to yard. Yardman says they have been out of it for weeks and everybody inside knows that. Come back next week. Back in today, checked outside first and there it is. Went to cashier who couldn't find the code in her book and informs me that I have to carry the 40 pound bags in myself. No, this elderly lady is not carrying around 40 pound bags of salt. So she gives me a scrap of paper and a pen which doesn't work and I have to go back out and get a number off the bag, but she doesn't know where the number would be. Luckily I found one of the competent and helpful yard men who carried the bags in for me. On the whole they wasted a half hour of my time on each trip and a whole big chunk of my patience. Sick and tired of this place. Nobody inside can do their jobs and they expect customers to do it for them. Happens over and over.
I used to use Rona everyday. I called the cobble Hill store for a quote and the lady in contractor sales said she doesn't do math lol. No quote no sale. Bye.
