RONA Maple Ridge

Needed some fluorescent bulbs for my office. Not sure of what brand or model I needed (only knew the length) I searched for someone to help me. Very difficult to find anyone to help me. In the end I bought the wrong ones and had to return them frustrated.

Lots of people to help you out but no people to help you out. Aka tons of staff wandering around and helpfull but only one teller so massive line up to get out. Maybe train a few more stock people for the teller department as back up.

We are doing small home repair jobs and some minor bathroom renovations. Rona is almost a daily trip during these times. Apparentlywe need to be betterorganized.

I went to pick up an item one evening and I would have to say the young woman and young guy at the cash were very rude. I dont know if they are in a relationship or what but they need to keep your personal problems away from the business. Today I needed something and decided to go to homedepot instead.

This is to the employee name Laurie, who gave us a big help. It was a long story, I won’t get into the details. Just wanted to thank Laurie!

I went in with a need for done lumber to repair something and Nick in the yard was amazing in helping me get the correct pieces. Thank you so much.

Waiting for 20 minutes to return something! When there is 6 people working in the return area. Never shop here

Today July 26 2023.
I bought a package of 18 (as per label) 4x3/4 wood screws for $3.99. That's 22¢ each.

The package I bought was not fully sealed and both flaps of the label were unsealed as were most of the other packages.

Count how many screws you see in the unopened plastic pack. Right there are only 12 but the package says 18. So now its 33¢ each.

We all know that these packages are overpriced vs bulk and a huge profit maker. If there was a retailer that had them in bulk, I would expect to pay between 5¢ and 12¢ each. And I do believe that I could have found them in bulk a little further away.

And I could have bought 100 4x3/4 steel screws for $6.49 at Rona that would have done the trick for me as well. That would be 7¢ each.

So now I see myself over charged not once but three times. There was no point of wasting gas to go back to the store.

Bottom line I won't be back to Rona as I have to class them as an untrustworthy retailer. And Rona.are you kidding? No pun, but I just got screwed by buying screws from you!

We have been doing Reno's for years and constantly visit this Rona. 9/10 times it's absolutely fantastic. Very helpful, knowledgeable staff and at times, I've been alone loading huge heavy things into my truck and staff or other customers have helped me so much. ️

Everyone at this location seems annoyed when you ask for help.bathrooms are extremely dirty. I'd rather drive to The Coquitlam Rona for customer service

Disappointed with supply and stock. Normally it is Haney Builders that doesn’t have what I need, not lately. Rona, the last few visits between low stock and bad customer service I am very disappointed. Rona if Haney Builders and Home Hardware can get more stock on shelves and Decent Customer Service post pandemic so can you. Advocating for a large Home Depot even more now.

Very poor website, says they have stock and when you get to store they tell you they haven't had it for weeks

5 stars because I got my kitty there a couple months ago. Some guybgiving away the tiniest kitten.he said it was a girl, turn out it was a boy. We love him anyways and named him Rona

Good store. However they have limited stuff. Every time I visit this store, I don't find what I am looking for.

Garden center closed at 8: 30 despite saying online it's open til 9: 00 update the site or leave the stuff open, just courtesy.

Ordered a freezer, got backorder notice, phone call confirming, said they'd likely get more in 6 weeks, waited over 3 months, just to have it discontinued. Went in to find out what if any they had in stock, staff member said he was sure they'd have more in the next shipment and would call me when it was delivered, it's been 2 years now still no call. Needless to say I went elsewhere.

We love Rona! The staff are amazing, friendly and helpful. And whats really nice is that no matter who you talk to, they NEVER talk down to you because of your gender or perceived gender. As a woman its really nice being able to go into a hardware store and feel comfortable asking a male presenting employee a question and it not only be answered in a non-condescending way, but theyll also show me how to do something or how to find out how to do something if im not too sure. If im there with my husband i'm not ignored, im included.
I know it probably doesnt seem like much, but to be seen in a male dominated skill as a person worth helping, and genuinely helping, feels really good. Boosts the confidence when im trying to do DIYs. It feels safe to ask the staff questions.

I went there yesterday, staff helped me to find the material required for the dryer vent and kitchen vent. Very knowledgeable staff and very helpful. Highly recommended

The associates that work here are amazing unfortunately the store isn't that good with it's lack of inventory, luckily the staff's knowledge of what they have on their shelves made it so that i did not waste any time trying to find something that is not there

Don't trust Rona with installs. The company they sent me was rude, left the job and now I'm having trouble getting my money back avoid there installation services like the plague

Staff here used to be more helpful, had a rather dismal experience last week.

I was unable to find outdoor patio lights in store (website showed they were in-stock here). Asked a staff member who told me to check aisle 6 but I couldn't find it there. Upon asking for help again he just told me to go to another aisle. When I couldn't find it there as well and told him he just simply stopped giving it a bother.

Not the beat selection of some items buy most of the time you'll find what you need in a pinch. If you're looking for something specific like straight edge tile cutter, better phone in advance. They didn't have it when we went.

You know, Rona was never my hardware store of choice but considering during these confusing times that they are allowing me to walk through the store without a mask on and not question me, you have now become one of my favorite stores. I can't thank you enough for supporting freedom. So I strongly recommend Rona

The Staff is very helpful when you can find them.
Prices are a little more than othere stores in the area.
Getting into and out of the lumber storage area can be challanging at time.

Rona really has a good captive market out here.

This location has great service too, and even in these pandemic/flooding times good inventory.staff are friendly and helpful.

This store just about covers all my home improvement needs. The only thing I don't like, the pricing on screws is way too high.

Whent looking for cedar fence boards they did not have the thickness I needed but staff were helpful

Stay away from this location and the company Rona. The cashier was the most rude unprofessional and insulting person I’ve ever had the pleasure of interacting with. She diminished my responses and is generally one of the most miserable people I’ve ever met. Rona should be ashamed of themselves for hiring and keeping this person employed. With the amount of people desperate to find a job they should let this person go immediately

Came in, asked one of the sales associates where to find a three way switch. Was directed to the right aisle, even the correct bay! Paid and happily left the building.

Store was clean. Physical markers on the floor for social distancing and even had a sanitation station at the front of the store.

I went in to Rona days ago, to buy parts for an eroded tub/seal and part connection and saw and older male staff who, seemed knowledgeable. I showed him the damage top piece and showed picture of the threaded damaged insert foot lok item. He gave me a replacement foot lok stop (wrong size), and a drain remover tool. Tried the removal tool and was unable to dislodge the corroded insert and did not want further damage. The plumber was called and the fitting was the incorrect size, and the trades person went to Andrew Sheret at my personal costs with his hourly rate to get the right part which stung me $80.00 for down time. In retrospect, it would have been better to buy both sizes of the foot lock insert and return one for a refund which would have cost less than a plumber going to a supply place to retrieve the proper item. Bad learning experience.

Fairly good helpfull staff just better in person most days phone contact is way to long to deal with but good staff when your there

High prices, but they are convienently close to home. The other hardware stores in town are better priced, but the quality is definately there at Rona's.

I came into the store this morning and called out for one of the staff members on the floor to assist me in the garden isle. The staff member had just turned down another isle and I thought great there goes that lol. I was surprised that he popped back up and asked if he could assist me. Nathan was very helpful, offered his opinion as I had no idea which rake to purchase and told him I needed top soil too.
He walked me over to the front of the store and directed me to the area of the top soil. I was told from another staff member to purcase a certain brand and when I was at the counter Nathan informed me that what I had was wrong.
He then went out to the top soil section and came back with what he thought would be best for my situation! He didn't stop here- he actually carried the 25lb bag to my car. Now that's customer service!

I would like to mention Shelly at the cash desk too. With the first bag she saw that it would be too heavy for me so without even asking she automatcically picked up the heavy bag and carried it to her till.
She was very kind and very hekpful and I could tell she cared about her customers!
This type of customer service is hard to find and I feel they both did an amazing job. Thank you for making my morning a great one!

Staff are hit and miss, some are fantastic friendly, knowledgeable. Others are "if we have it isn't over on the other side of the store" ‍️ good to have a second store in town though as Haney Builders delivers great value on some things, but doesn't stock others at all what I needed today was at Rona. Thanks guys!

Very helpful, definitely don't automatically think your gonna steal something just because of the way you look which makes shopping so much less stressful.

Went to buy lumber today April 10/21 only to discover Rona changed supplier and no longer has the good quality Gormam product. Now it's the same poor quality as Home Depot. Guess I'll be doing my shopping at Home Depot because at least their pricing is better.

I have a complaint whit the customer services at painting department a lady attendant was talking with other attendant and when I ask for help, I saw her face that she didn't like to help me and treat me with discrimination.
I hope this lady in the future be helpful with everyone.

Right off the highway. Staff are accommodating. I my complaint is you have to ask for help if you need it. The staff do not freely offer it

Open at 6am and closes 9pm on many days.great for those wanting to stay away from large crowds.

I have never left a bad review but the cashier there instead of refunding my money for my return items charged me a massive amount. If I hadn’t caught it on my bank app, it would have been rip off.
Lauren the night shift manager is a great person, help me resolve the issue and that 1 star is for her.
She was even shocked and couldn’t believe it.
I had the worst experience there. Never see me and anyone I know there again

Always a good experience at Rona Maple Ridge. Rona should get a couple more staff on the floor on the other hand since their employees are always busy and line ups to talk to someone can sometime be long.

Poor quality of items but super understanding and able to return with receipt and original package.

Shopping at this store today I found the service quite good. The person that helped us was very polite and willing to figure out whether the item online was actually in the store. Standing in line the floor was also clearly marked where to stand to keep adequate spacing between customers. I am giving the store a 3 out of 5 as the online information varied greatly from what the store actually had in stock.

I love Rona! Staff are super nice and helpful. That's not even the best part, the place smells like popcorn!

When shopping for hardware (bolts/nuts) in metric, make sure that you triple check the bins and the hardware. I had to wait 10 mins for an associate to triple check 3 types on hardware.

I always find the prices competitive in the yard. What’s even better is they price match the competition. Earn extra with Airmile’s offers.

As I've recently been doing many DIY projects at home and Rona is literally a two min walk from my house i have been in there lots and have spent way too much money, because its probably the most expensive place to shop for anything because its geared towards contractors with credit accounts. Especially since everything I've been doing has been a first time experience for me so I'm learning trial by error right now. And as I'm making a lot more error then I'd like; I am grateful for the fact that they will pretty much take any item back as long as you have the receipt, n possibly some less pricey items that are obviously rona items without a receipt. I do find the staff to be surprisingly lacking a lot of knowledge both about their products and their job requirements. I once went in to buy a can of paint and it took 3 employees to actually get me the can of paint I was needing in the correct color etc. If you ask someone for help with something other then in the lumber yard, most of the time the person your speaking to has no idea how to help you or point to the right product, like when I asked for the best product to clean paint spillage off the floor and I was handed an eco-friendly bottle of serious paint stripper that in less then 5 mins took the plastic clear coat off of the laminate wood-looking flooring. I was not too impressed!

Most helpful and humble staff. Deals are always ON. Whenever we go to this location, staff is always welcoming and helpful, specially the guys at lumber/paver section. God bless and thank you

Well, I can find what I am looking for, but they do seem understaffed when I need help. I needed Mastic. And there wasn't anyone who could show me. Where it was. Once I saw the tiles I pretty much led the staff down the aisle to the Mastic. And they said they didn't know what I needed and the person for the job wasn't there and there was another lady waiting. Anyways. I read the labels and found it myself.

I was looking into getting a snow shovel and ran into Alex. His knowledge and enthusiasm helped me make a decision. More importantly his customer service made me feel like I was at the right store. Thank you.

Unfortunately not the same as home depot.
Limited in selection in every category. Not busy because of this. Went in to check on a shopvac and they were limited and over priced with bad reviews so went yet again to home depot and purchased one on sale for $99 which was regular $129 with great reviews. Clean store and lots of parking.

The young guy at the paint counter was super helpful and the cashier at the front end was so nice and friendly.

Way better than home depot for buying fasteners. They actually have stock of pretty much everything. You can also buy boxes of fasteners for cheaper or buy the kg. Instead of like home depot where you have to count out each piece for 3x the price.

Josh from Rona was excellent. He was eager to come and help my husband and I right when we walked into the lumber yard! He answered our questions quickly and was super friendly. Ask for Josh to get the job done!

A very compact store with competitive prices. Almost everything is available required for house maintenance and everyday need. The staff here is very helpful and knowledgeable.

The staff was very knowledgeable and helped me find everything I was looking for and answered all my questions to help me better understand the products I needed to get my renovations on the right. I'll definitely be back!

I live across the street. The guys in the plumbing dept helped me in giving me guidance on how to change the drain cups in my kitchen sink. My next project is a new bathroom sink and counter and they have already helped me. Gave them a 4 because the sink counter combo i wanted was out of stock. I can get it at Coquitlam but i will wait.

The customer service rep accidentally sent me to the wrong isle, but then another worker in lighting went out of his way to help me find what I was looking for. It was exactly what I needed. The checkout clerk was friendly and efficient as well. I much prefer Rona to Home Depot.
