Excellent experience taking a drysuit course. Paul was very knowledgeable about diving and the local area, and the other staff were helpful & patient when it came to gearing up.

I did my open water with Rowand's Reef. Paul and John were both excellent instructors. The experience being able to plan my own dive as part of the course, and have an amazing experience underwater was 10/10.

I completed my Advanced Open Water Certificate with Rowand's Reef, and I must emphasize how truly remarkable the experience was. Our instructor, Allie, displayed a remarkable blend of professionalism and approachability. Across a span of two days, we engaged in a total of six dives. Considering this was my first foray into cold-water diving, the emotions of excitement and apprehension intermingled within me. Allie's affable and relaxed demeanor, however, transformed the encounter into an incredibly pleasurable one.
Allie's meticulous attention to detail and her commitment to safety were evident through her provision of comprehensive safety reviews before each dive. It's worth noting her remarkable physical strength in managing the cumbersome gear with apparent ease. My endorsement of Rowand's Reef goes without hesitation, and if you're fortunate enough to receive instruction from Allie, rest assured you're under the guidance of an extraordinarily competent individual. In summary, I wholeheartedly advocate for this establishment and extend kudos to Allie – your excellence knows no bounds!

Yes…we did our dry suit certification with Allie too. I had never had so much fun learning…Allie is knowledgeable and tough and helpful. Now that we are dry suit certified, cold water is our oyster and we are so grateful to Allie for opening this door…

We were supposed to get a 10% discount for our in-store purchases because of our open-water swimming lessons. On May 5,2023, we visited the shop and reminded the store employee Noah about the discount before making the purchase. After paying, we confirmed with him that he had applied the discount.
After walking out of the store, we checked the receipt and noticed no discount was applied. We immediately went back to the store to get an answer, and Noah told us he had applied the discount to the original price of the first item on the receipt (i.e. He claims the $49.99 neoprene socks were supposed to sell for $59.99 and that he had manually marked it down). I thought it’s suspicious that a 10% discount would come to exactly 10 dollars & went and checked the price of the item at the corner of the store. Guess what? It’s priced at $49.99, i.e. No discounts whatsoever were applied to our purchase for any of the items. With no apologies, Noah then told us that he is new and thus doesn’t know how to apply discounts. (? !)
Noah lied to us twice in a row, without blinking. He also claims to not know how to issue us a refund, citing that he’s new to the store. He then asked us to call the store the next day for a refund. I had to ask him to write us a note on the back of the receipt for proof because at this point I can no longer trust him/the store.
My partner emailed the store the next day about the incident, and we are asked to visit the store again to get the refund in cash. When I went back to the store to get the refund, on May 11, the manager of the store Cody confronted me, without hearing anything from me, told me that I was rude to Noah.

I’ve done a couple of the community dives with this shop. It’s a nice way to get more comfortable with diving, dry suits, and get more familiar with the areas around Vancouver. I hope they can continue to dive at Porteau Cove!
I also did my Advanced Open Water with Paul. It was a fun, relaxed experience with an emphasis on gaining confidence and learning a few useful skills. We saw an octopus! So good—five stars.
