The quote was less than expected, plus the blinds came in way before their due date which was super for us! I have a very large window, 6' x 12" that faces west. So lots of heat and cold through this single paned opening. I have used Hunter Douglas cellular blinds in the past and loved them. Because the single blind is 12' long, Adrian the installer came to make sure he could get it to my third floor condo. The blind arrived very quickly and Adrian installed it. What a wonderful experience both with Jason and Adrian. I love the ease of the motorized blind, it lets in light but restricts the heat and I am sure the cold if that ever comes. When we first met Janine she listened to our needs, clarified her understanding, considered our decor, clearly explained our options, and made appropriate recommendations regarding blinds.

Our new window coverings now completely influenced the surrounding feel and appearance of our entertainent room. The colour and the amount of light coming into this room is perfect.
Motorization was suggested to us and now we are thankful because it is a wonderful option to have considering our space and height of window.

Janine organized everything we needed for example the measurements of blinds, checking on sale price and rebates, booking a qualified installer, and ordering the correct blinds. Through all of these stages we always felt that Janine was available to us.

She provided excellent service and knowledge and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone.   We are very satisfied!

We are extremely pleased with the electronic blinds installed on 8 large condo windows and sliding doors. Both Jason, who did the estimate, and Rob, who installed the blinds were extremely professional, pleasant, patient and competent. They were respectful of our strict covid protection needs and they were very careful with our furniture and art. At first, we wanted hand-controlled blinds, but Jason showed us the advantages of using the electronic control and patiently explained the changes to codes regarding hand-pull blinds. Jason demonstrated the various light screening levels of different blind thickness, so we were able to pick what was best for our rooms. The electric blinds are very easy to operate and tidy looking. While they were not cheap, we think that they are well worth the expense. Due to supply chain issues you need to be prepared to wait for installation. We recommend Ruffell and Brown very highly and suggest that you visit their showroom and website first to get an idea of the possibilities for your project. Rob and Joan

I brought in a blind that has a broken cord, hoping to get a replacement cord. We were pleasantly greeted by Janine, and she inspected the blind as she explained that they were no longer doing repairs unless the blinds had been purchased there. When it was fully unfurled we could see it had been purchased elsewhere, so we got ready to leave. She asked us to wait to see if she could find a cord for us, disappeared for a few minutes, and then came out with the fixed blind! Andy had quickly found a cord and installed it, she said. Here you go - no charge! We went from disappointment to elated within 10 minutes. Thanks to Janine and Andy for going the extra mile for us.

Janine was wonderful to work with. She was creative in all the right ways, while also being practical and respectful of my wishes and budget. Rob, who installed our blinds was also excellent to deal with.

We loved the whole experience and wouldn't hesitate in recommending them. The blinds we chose are incredible in keeping out the summer heat.

I was thoroughly impressed with Janine's professionalism and product knowledge. She was prepared and ready with photos and measurements of all the windows in our new build. She took the time to show me the products that made the most sense for my needs and she went above and beyond with her level of service. In the end we went with 3 different kinds of Hunter Douglas shades but our favorites are the Powerview Duette Cellular Shades. We LOVE the motorization and the option to have it sheer on the bottom or the top is great.

Beware of hidden fees. For repairs they have a $25 admin fee to cover, well, admin fees I guess. Which is fine except that its not on their website and they failed to tell me over the phone when they asked me to bring in my blind for a quote. To their credit they returned the fee after I complained, so long as I took my business elsewhere. You get the idea that customer service is not their strong point. Better to give Brite and Easy or Blind Repairs by Rod your business.
Update: After my complaint, they have now updated their website to include the inspection fee. I hope they also start informing customers of the fee when they phone with repair questions. For their swift response to my one star review, I've bumped it up to two stars.

They rip seniors off. They wanted to charge my mother $125 to come to her house to look at a broken blind that she purchased from them. She spent $5000.00 on blinds from their businesses. They are definitely a business I would stay away from, with absolutely no appreciation for loyal customers.

Terrible product, no quality control, poor customer service.

Disappointed all around.

Process took 5 months in total.

Blinds arrived in the wrong size for one window & damaged for the other. Valences were the wrong colour for one of the blinds. First installer had dirty hands - fingerprints on the blinds and the walls. Cords cut improperly.

Second attempt, blinds were the right size but the visible mechanisms were the wrong colour.

Third installation attempt had to be made to fix everything. 2nd installer was friendly and did his best.

Not a surprise, the salesperson passed us off to someone else. While it appeared to be that person's job to deal with issues she didn't seem to care much, glossed over the problems and blamed it on the manufacturer.

Zero follow up from anyone once the job was complete and they took the full remaining balance off my credit card. 10% off for the 3 times I had to be at home for the installs would have gone a long way.

Would not recommend this business.

I just had R&B repair some older wood blinds. They finished the work ahead of schedule and below their quote. The blinds are working like new again. Thank you!

We had a great experience with Ruffell & Brown earlier this year. Cheryl came over to our home and gave us some excellent advice. The blinds arrived within a short period of time and the installation went without a hitch. I would gladly recommend them.

We decided on Ruffell and Brown for several reasons, they could provide us with the blind we wanted, we had dealings with the company in the past and the great reviews provided. The blinds we picked were just what we wanted for our two large sliders. The cost was over $7000,00 but we thought this is our forever condo. We were disappointed to find that at hanging the wall was not straight therefore the blinds would have a gap at the top of the ceiling. Very disappointed that the person that did the measuring did not point this out at the time of taking the measurements. We would have weighed the options or purchased a different style of blind. The installer and sales person had to come out several times for different reasons, to view the gap, to brings remotes that were not included in the shipment, to replace one of the blinds because of manufacture. We were charged the final installment to our credit card, prior to any discussion on satisfaction. We contacted Debra Ruffell and did not get a satisfactory reply. We will have to remedy the gap ourselves. Although I like the blinds and will tell folks I like the blind sbut not the service provided.
