Russ Hay's The Bicycle Shop

This store helped me purchase and set up my first road bike. It was on short notice as I was riding in the BC Law Enforcement Memorial Ride to Remember in just a few days. The bike was reasonably priced. Staff took the time to make sure the bike fit me properly, and was working well. I would not have been able to complete the ride without their assistance and expertise.

We recently purchased two bikes (Giant and Specialized) along with helmets and accessories. Aaron provided exceptional service and took the time to explain specific details and benefits of the various bikes and equipment. Overall an outstanding experience and we were fully outfitted and riding the next day!

We visited the shop twice this last week, on both occasions the staff were very knowledgeable and went above and beyond to help us. We really appreciated the level of service and time they took to ensure we had a positive experience with the products.

Brought my road bike for tune-up and a few little adjustments. From the very beginning, everything was beautiful - professional, friendly, knowledgeable.

Picked up the bike yesterday and went for a ride. The bike just purrs. Thank you Ben and team for such a wonderful first experience with you!

I needed a roll of cloth handlebar tape, yup dinosaur stuff. Although they didn't have any in stock, their depth of knowledge of the sport had them send me to another shop that did have tape. Great service and a fine show of cycling's camaraderie.

Ryan and crew came through immediately when I asked for a reconditioned bike donation for a recently arrived Ukrainian refugee child. Kind and very courteous. Guess who is getting all my bike business from here on out? Answer: Russ Hayes!

Had a Derailleur Malfunction on the road and they took me in right away. THE best bike service i have ever had. My new favourite spot.

Huge thanks to Ryan who helped me get fitted with a new saddle, some tools, and helped track down a very specific part to adapt a rack to my bike! Definitely went above and beyond, the kind of service that makes you want to keep coming back.

This is one of the best bike shops I have been to.
They fixed my bike on the spot even while there were multiple other customers there. I think the rep over quoted me as I was expected it to be more expensive than it turned out to be. 6 stars.

Very friendly staff who really know their products. They're not going to try to sell you the most expensive products, they want to find you the product that works best for you. This is my go to bike shop!

I am new to Victoria and needed to find a good bike shop. I was really impressed with the tune up and their customer service. I had them box my bike for my trip to Europe and they did a great job. I highly recommend them.

Russ Hay’s is the absolute BEST! I buy all my cycling gear and bikes from them. They fix and install everything for me because I’m clueless. ;) The entire staff is so friendly and helpful, especially Ryan and Mike.

Russ Hay's is an awesome shop that's there to help you out with anything bike related. I bought a Trance a few months ago, and started having some issues with the paint, which were quickly dismissed by the local Giant shop. In comparison, Russ Hay's on the other hand were instantly committed to helping me out and somehow managed to source a brand new frame, as well as a new crank as mine had recently broken, under warranty. As a local shop they do an amazing job taking care of you, even when compared to massive more commercialized shops, and I can't recommend them enough. Their whole staff is amazing, but shout out to Mike and Aaron!

Ian was a great help in helping me pick out a bike I can afford for a long commute! He was very speedy with replies and answered all my questions! He also fitted my bike to me and I have no complaints! Thanks Ian!

I brought my new Specialized Elite Carbon commuter bike in to have an annoying rattle addressed and Aaron persisted to make sure the problem got fixed after the first attempt by the shop failed. Turns out the internally routed cables were not the source of the noise so the initial remedy of encasing the cables in a foam tube did not work. Filling the upper tube with foam however did the trick and the bike is as quiet as a mouse now. The bike was purchased in Alberta but that didn't impact the level of service I got from Aaron and Doug at Russ Hayes and the issue was resolved at no charge to me. Thanks for great service!

Nice bikes, approachable and friendly staff. They didn't laugh too hard that I don't like disc brakes on road bikes. Joking aside, quality bike shop with a focus on Specialized with knowledgeable staff. They'll service anything.

Great staff - very knowledgeable and super friendly. Dude did a repair in a very short period of time and walked me through an inspection at a very good price, with no judgement on my knowledge gap or condition of my bike. They seem willing to assist people at all cycling levels and styles. Only complaint is a lack of diversity in brands, they primarily carry Specialized products (which is a fine brand) but it makes it hard to compare with other brands of different qualities, features and pricepoints. All in all a good experience, highly recommend you check these guys out for maintenance/repair and bike education.

Outstanding service. Guys were super chill and quick in repairing my disk brakes when I had a pad fall out. Reasonably priced repair too. New to the city, and will definitely be going there for any cycling needs. Thanks guys, you certainly made my day and now I'm enjoying some Moon Under Water.)

Went in with a broken part of my bike and the guy at the service desk was laughing and shaking his head, as if I did something very wrong to the bike for it to be broken. He was very condescending when talking to me and asked me how often I tune it up. Luckily the mechanic came to speak to me and he was a lot friendlier and helpful. I will not go back there.
