Safeway Collingwood

For me, this Safeway is just not quite as good as the Save On Foods down the road. Produce can be dodgy. By no means a terrible grocery, just not a great one. A step up in quality and selection is down the road.

It's really hard to get somebody at the deli. Sometimes even when there's like four people back there milling around. You gotta holler at them and they tend not to like that.

They say on the map that they open till 11, but it is till 10 pm. I've been driving for nothing

The older lady at self checkout.don't make her get up from her little chair because she will give you attitude for asking her to do her job.first time seeing a self checkout attendant with a chair to sit on during their shift, and yet she is still so rude and grumpy to customers.there is another self checkout attendant - an older gentleman - I've noticed stands most of the time and is ready to come over to assist; but this lady will stay in her chair unless she really needs to get up. It's funny because she makes it look like she is busy writing stuff down but what is she really writing down? Lol

Called this store at 10pm and was basically on what I thought was "on hold". The call went thru and I picked the dept i needed (cust serv) only to wait and no one answered. I ended up sending my husband because we needed block ice for our coolers for camping only to find out it was closed at 10 and store hours are open until 11pm.several people were there and upset.no warning no sign. I would love to know the reason.this was Saturday August 12th.thanks Safeway.

Good sized parking lot. Workers will help you with your grocery items to your car. Starbucks present. Security rails and security present. Self checkout available.

A good overall store with all the necessary products needed. The kitchen offers delicious hot meals at reasonable prices. Excellent service and staff are friendly. The produce are organized neatly and presented fresh. None of the stuff are over the expiration date, which is good. The various discounts and deals are also beneficial. Overall, a good store that is comparable to Superstore or any other typical supermarket.

Alright safeway, sometimes the products are expired though and too bad you can't price match how evil of the company

Bought dan active yogurt, when i reached home I saw that it was expired sine july 18. It was too late, I already had one bottle. I’m so disgusted …
How can they leave something on shelf that has been expired from 10 days.

The prices have gone up quite a bit on way more things than I thought until I was in the store actually spending my own money on groceries at the store that almost everyone was telling me was one of the most expensive ones out there.

I mean.
It's a food store.they all have the same template of appearance. Thus one is aesthetically pleasing for sure.

I have not been in a Safeway for a while as Save on Foods has great produce and uses locally sourced products as much as possible. Even their house brand Western family is a bc owned company

But worse part is the prices at Safeway are insane! Like they have gone up at least 18 % in the last year. A thing of 6 muffins 9.89.

Quality of food and presentation is pretty mid, and there's always junkies in the front.

Typical Safeway, generally high prices, not great service. If something is on sale, expect it to be out of stock. Self Checkouts never work very well, and the staff at the self checkouts don't pay attention or care. Oh, they have Scene points now instead of Airmiles and the Scene app is the worst.

As a person with mobility issues I thoroughly enjoy the opportunity to shop for a couple of hours in person at this particular Safeway Store Collingwood. Conveniently located along a busy bus route, the store is fully accessible to the disabled. I strolled the well stocked isles using my walker in all areas of the store. I used the trouble free self serve checkout. I look forward to my next visit as such outings are good therapy too.

I grew up around this store and always went there with my mom growing up

They always had fresh produce on the shelves with lots of color in them,

Shelves are always full and stocked nicely with the product pushed all to the edge of the shelves
I have noticed there prices are a bit higher then other stores but you can't beat there sale items
If your a smart shopper it's a great place to go

There's a Starbucks on site for you coffee lovers

And they have fresh cut flowers for that special date or just to surprise your wife with

The Safeway Value Meal used to be one of the best deals in the city. Unfortunately over the last few years more and more Safeways don’t even offer it and have instead decided to move to a ridiculously priced “self serve” option for their hot food. Safeway Collingwood was my go to location for lunch, until today. Attached below is what I got for my Value Meal, about 10 mojos and 3 small chicken strips. They are so chincey the Deli employee weighed the mojos and took a SINGULAR mojo out. Like come on. I know for a fact that one Mojo will not affect your margins.

Pricing is higher than other grocery stores. Safeway does carry specialized items. No plastic bags.

Safeway beef is above the rest of the supermarkets.
