Safeway Nelson

One of my favorite grocery stores! I love this store because I can see that they are very responsible for the quality of products and customer service. They offer a wide selection of vegetables and fruits, along with the best meat department.
I simply love this place.

The cashier's are comically baffled by cash purchasing. Like a deer in the headlights, or dead eyes. Had the deli worker state at me for 15 seconds when I paid with a 5$ bill and a 2$. Coin. The total cost was 6.09$. Think man, think!

Had most of what I wanted. Cashier availability can vary. Mostly not waiting in lineup for long.

Love this store. Great butcher center. Lots of variety. Clean spaces and product. Big deli. Good prices.

Since it has become sobeys the vegetal and fruit has dropped quality, the flowers dept has dropped quality, and the prices have increased on meat with little to no quality control. The bakery used to have awesome donuts and now they are disappointing.

I went here a couple times and it was really easy to get in and out quickly. Staff was always really nice and helpful.

Generally a good store. But very disappointing that they opened 15 minutes late this morning. If you open at 7am the. Open at 7am not 7.15. Contrary to popular belief time does operate the same here as in other places. Come on get professional and open on time!

This is a standard Safeway. I know I often gloss over chain stores because they really strive to present the same experience at any given location.

I will say that this particular Safeway is clean, has parking that makes sense for both cars and trucks, and I found the staff very helpful.

Unlike Save-on they had what I wanted. Some of the cashier's desks are a bit tired, but we go there for the food.

I was able to find any of the Asian ingredients i was looking for. Several weeks ago i was also unable to find basic indian food ingredients

This is the dirtiest food store I have ever been in. The dust, dirt and garbage on the floor shows that management must not care. We will never shop here again. There are many other fine food stores in Nelson.

Just wanted to run in and grab my groceries - got accosted by an anti masker looking for a fight. Staff stood by and did nothing while the woman shouted insults and curses at me. If you value mutual respect and kindness, I recommend you avoid this grocer.

Worst Safeway deli sandwiches. They upcharge for everything and stop serving eggs after 11 no good vegetarian options. Just double cheese I got a double cheese sandwich for two dollars more than my buddies turkey bacon and his was way thicker. Not using there deli again usually I say Safeway over subway not in Nelson go to subway.

Great customer service. Was pleasantly surprised they don't have plastic bags. Paper bags or box.

I went to the deli counter for lunch. The chicken strips were just okay but the fries were chewy, like they'd been there awhile. I also found the flow to line up for Starbucks confusing and poorly marked.

This is the only grocery store that I use in Nelson since covid hit - public safety and efficiency is well balanced.

Absolutely disgusting. Expired sandwich meats in the coolers, expired food on the shelves.nearly half the items we went for were expired.not to mention a DEAD FLY found baked partially inside one of their bakery buns. Legitimately the grossest Safeway I've ever been to, and will 100% not give them another dime of my money for the rest of my stay in Nelson.

Safeway is pretty consistent, we bought sandwiches to take to the beach. Glad they had masks and hand sanitizer around tho shocking number of people seem to be completely clueless about masks and keeping distance. Guess it's small town knowledge. Glad Safeway gets it.

Safeway doesnt really outshine any other grocery store in Nelson. If you want cheaper food there is Wholesale, bulk food Save On or Coop and organic food Ellisons Market or Coop.

Sometimes there is an alright AirMiles deal but it still doesnt make it worth the trip.

Very helpful floral department as well as deli. I need several trays for a small group (8family members) and they are providing exactly what I need

Little concerning recently as I've noticed many individuals not wearing masks while shopping in Safeway. Other local businesses have now implemented mandatory masks. In order for shoppers to make use of their services or retail shopping a mask must be worn. And for those that try to claim they are unable to breathe while wearing a mask, my mother has severe COPD and requires oxygen but she can and does wear a mask. So nice try, just put it on. PLEASE!
Come on Safeway, I see your employees are wearing masks but suddenly people entering the store are bypassing the use of the hand sanitizer, walking clearly past the dispenser and there's no employees monitoring anymore either. You're not the only establishment that has become somewhat laxidazical. Now is the time, when not just businesses, but everyone needs to be more diligent. As fall is on our doorstep and people will be confined indoors more it could be a real challenge.

There shelves were the best stocked of all the stores I went to in Nelson. They were also the only ones with TP!

It's great grocery store, always has friendly and knowledgeable staff. The best place in Nelson for a hot cup of coffee and delicious hot lunch.

Almost no organic food, very cold unsafe atmosphere, very strick towards staff they are told not to speak to customers.

Produce is usually hit or miss, great deals on meat most times. Clean store. Limited options on certain things, like soups and sides.

Awesome to still find a actual Safeway great service here excellent produce and well priced as well they have exceptionally great cashiers who work hard to get you through the line asap

I love shopping at Safeway in Nelson the staff is knowledgeable on where items are in the store and if I don't know where they are they help me find it the always carry good products

Love how they don't offer plastic bags and offered free cardboard boxes instead in Nelson, BC.why can't that be the case for all Safeway locations everywhere in the States? More love for the Earth to all other Safeway locations please.

It was out of a bunch of stuff when I went, but the BC Liquor store is right next door so it all works out in the end.

Unshaded parking lot. Near a liquor store and gas station. Has a Starbucks, self-serve soup station and a sandwitch/deli station.

It has slightly different stock available than Save-On-Foods, but my goodness me, somewhat more expensive too. For me, a great place to drop onto once in a while.

It is a small store, absolutely packed. The staff is friendly and helpful if you cannot find something.

Pretty good store. Nothing earth shattering. Usually if someone went out of their way I'd give 4 stars; or if there was exemplary produce. But it's a safeway. We've all been to one.

It was pretty poor. Shelves empty all over. Deli out of daily special at 3 in afternoon, prices seemed very high.

Good store by normal store standards but made obsolete by Save-On. If you're in a hurry and/or you don't want to run into someone you know then this is the spot.
