Safeway Parkgate Village

The staff have consistently been friendly & courteous in my experience. The organic selection is great and they have organic fair-trade bananas! The 2 things I don’t like is there isn’t very much choice in ecological cleaning products or paper goods such as toilet paper, paper towels or tissues. Also, the women’s washroom is dismal looking and wasn’t clean. The tap looks like something took a big bite out of it! It very much needs a renovation!
Oh and they do a good job of supporting local art by selling paintings near their in store Starbucks.

Most products here are 20-40% more expensive than the Commercial/Broadway Safeway. Store is clean and often not very busy at least, but they are charging a pretty premium for the same stuff across town.

Where do you guys find these people? Is a bad attitude, horrible service and an inability to smile a prerequisite? I think it's time you make all your tills self-checkout and send these bums packing. Every experience I have here goes from bad to worse.

I just picked up some fried rice and lemon chicken from the deli stand at Safeway at Parkgate on March 2023. It was truly the worst take out food I have had in last 30 years. Fried rice was semi frozen and by the time I brought it home, had an inch of water at the bottom of the container. The lemon chicken was 80% batter etc, and 20% at most chicken meat. Please take my advice and do not ever order food from here. I just don’t understand how a multi national grocery chain can sell such low grade quality food.

I'm a little sad that right before cold and flu season is when they decided to get rid of all of the hand sanitizer and extra masks. Love this store overall, just very weird timing.

I was here to buy some avocados. A manager of produce said that they don't sell if I get 10 or over.

I love ️ the fact that they have a sensory day/hour with special accommodations. Saturday’s 10-11.

What is going on in deli?
I got a fresh panini and the bread is stale like crackers. Must have been kept out for a long time.

It's bread, how can you mess it up. Please do better.

Also the lighting is quite dim.

Went in there for the first time in a while and it seems like a dark cloud had been lifted, the store looks brighter as well as the staff. Seems like a much happier environment after a couple of years.

A enjoyable store to shop in: Not too big, not too small and a big selection of staples and specialties. The staff are courteous and helpful.

Typical Safeway, but cashiers had no clue on how to process a receipt from their magic coin counter machine. 3 clerks and in the end they just gave me cash back, which ruins the whole point of the coin machine for spending it at store. Italian paninis at deli are fantastic.

Avoid going to safeway, unless you like paying top dollar for medioca products.however staff are very nice

The hot food deli here is a real disappointment. Coming home from a busy day at work between 4: 30 - 6: 00 daily never guarantees any variety of hot food to pick up for family dinners. This should be prime time. Quite often many of the trays of hot foods items are empty or have some old dried up stragglers in them. When I've talked to the "manager", I was told it was "new staff training " or "shortage of staff (someone was sick). I've been shopping at this Safeway since it opened in the mid 80's.

This is the bathroom, it was pretty horrific. Hard to consider buying anything there when the staff and patrons are using facilities like this.

I stayed in the car. Family members went in and very happy with selection and prices of Vegan foids

I like it for reasonable prices and nice people.not always the lowest prices but close.never heard or had anything past it due date! If it near to the date, they discount it.never had a problem at Deli but it does seem disorganized. I like the convenience and I feel we are lucky to have this store. Always could be better and it should go that way.hope for future! @

Well Safeway has become a slowly dying breed of a grocery chain in the Vancouver area I've liked the addition of the Starbucks inside most Safeways. This park gate branch is great from customer service to actual genuine friendlyness and somtimes with a smile prices are quite fair and at times ya can find great bargains on items mostly a single item sale price somtimes a buy multiple items for a discount

Very nice and clean store. Typical Safeway layout with a good selection of items. Like all stores pricing has come down a little over the last year. You’ll find everything we need here.

It was awful. The girl in the deli was rude. This is not the first time she has been rude. Safeway used to be a shopping experience I would look forward to. I will never ever go back to parkgate.

Easy, convenient, friendly and helpful staff and is usually not busy, so if your in a rush you can be in and out fast; depending on your shopping list, produce is always fresh and so is there meat, the staff at the butcher shop is always helpful.

Stopped in after a day at Seymour. Was about 8pm. Starbucks was closed. Food bar seemed to be closing. Soup was shut down etc. Was very quiet which I guess is why. Hard to tell sometimes what to expect when a store is open but multiple parts of it are not. Otherwise clean and what you would expect in a Safeway.

Best sandwich bar ever! Please be polite to the deli staff, they are often overworked and deserve your respect. (former deli and meat department worker but not at this chain). Thanks.

This place is brutal. Two items I bought here were expired (yogurt and cheese; both products had expired a month ago.
