Clean, well stocked. Most importantly, the staff are exceptional. Always polite and willing to help! They're produce is always well stocked and fresh looking.

Amazing staff, friendliest grocery store I have been to. First time there and was very pleased, usually go to Langley location and staff is not the nicest at times.
Bakery was amazing, different cakes and pastries, more selection than other locations. Will be back.

My mom needs loonies for her laundry and they always give me lots in change. Great products and great experience every time, groceries don't have to be a chore!

The shop is very clean and front staffs are very friendly. I was disappointed that the bakery couldn’t slice a French loaf. I was told that it was against their rules. I have got it sliced here before. Other bakeries always do if for me.

Pretty good stock and produce! The fruits are fresh. Floral is beautiful and fresh.

The pharmacy staff here is very nice.

Dumbest pharmacy ever.

6/7/22: really gone downhill. First, the pharmacy kept screwing up my prescriptions with other peoples'. Now, years later, the bakery has been putting disgusting chocolate shavings on the little vanilla birthday cakes. These were a staple of some small measure of joy from my childhood. I carried that on into my adult years. After having battle throat cancer, COVID (several times) and diminished lung capacity I can't even have my cake. It's all a lie now. Only way I can attempt to recreate that joy is to spend $5+ and waste so much cutting off the chocolate shavings. May God help us all.

Pretty large location. I really enjoy the large doors that makes the shopping experience feel like entering a market.

The lighting in this store is very limited. Overhead lighting is dull and obviously subdued. Isles are crowded and it makes the store appear to desperste to sell.
Great location and lots of parking with many other services close by.

I went in for a couple of things for the kids lunch and almost had to take a mortgage out. Their prices were a sticker shock. 500ml. Hellmans Mayo $7.75. Ridiculous. Fresh bakery bread $4.45. Honey ham $5.00 for about 8 slices. I don't know how the exec's of Sobeys can sleep at night with prices like that. I went to Walmart the next day to compare their prices and the same mayo was around $5.00 bread $3.00 and honey ham was at least twice as much ham.
Wow. They aren't even competitive.

Not the largest safeway but well stocked and well staffed. The parking lot can tend to be a bit busy and chaotic. Always had good luck with getting fresh flowers and staff always put together nice bouquets.

Bought a cake on my birthday which was sour and expired even thought the label on the box was normal. So embarrassing for the guests and I. I called the store several times and my calls were put on hold. Customer service picked up my call and transferred me to the bakery department for the inconvenience and my call was not answered. DOUBLE CHECK ALL THE ITEMS YOU BUY FROM THE BAKERY SIDE!

I always come to this Safeway to grab flowers & salads! The selection is great and most of the staff is decent as well. Holly on cash helped me out and she seemed quite knowledgeable. I also love that there’s a Starbucks!

This is a great local store to shop at, the staff are very friendly and personable and take pride in knowing their customers.

They have strong Covid19 protocols in place as well.

Why have only one side of exits and entrances open? If you think about it for a half a second it makes NO SENCE WHATSOEVER. This is a plandemic. They close all little shops and keep the big ones open to reap all the benefits. Think about it. If the little shops were still open people wouldn't be forced to shop at all the same places. One by one things are getting weirder and weirder. First it's Mandatory face masks, next it's going to be mandatory vaccine to get in and get groceries! Learntherisk.org

My new favorite place to shop. Much less crowded than Superstore and cheaper than Save On. Selection is not as vast but they have most of my favorites. The staff are also very helpful and friendly. Keep up the great work!

I have been going to safeway for 40 years, however, yesterday I went to the deli and purchased 4 pieces of quiche. Took them home and warmed them up to eat. The cheese was melted and crust was very light beige. I cut into it and ate a piece and - yuck - the bottom crust was RAW! Someone should teach the young girls they have to cook the pastry before putting the filling in to bake. Just because the cheese is melted, does not mean the quiche is fully cooked. I used to purchase this product all the time but won't now. Still love my safeway.

Decent Safeway. Best one in the area anyway. It's not as good as it used to be. Feels a bit like corners are being cut.
Update: Same as above, accept I have to downgrade to 2 stars due to poor COVID protocols. The staff are doing a great job of masking, however, the store only has one door open to use. This funnels all customers in an out at close proximity. Some wearing masks and some NOT wearing masks. This is a dangerous policy and needs to be fixed. You have two doors. Please use one for the entrance and one for exit. Fixed.
I will update and upgrade my review when you have taken some action.

The cashier was a brat. My nails are super long so its hard for me to swipe my card & she was being super impatient and being super rude. Other than that the store is always great.

Marnie G. Cashier. Super rude and unprofessional. I have never experienced such terrible customer service from any other grocery store.

Over the weekend, there was a salted butter promo ($2.77) going on. I was told by my mom to purchase 6 sticks of butter for our family and my aunt told me to purchase 6 for her family.keep in mind we are two DIFFERENT families. She sent my younger cousin along with me as she is unable to travel anywhere due to a foot injury. I'm explaining all of this because you never know what exactly someone's situation is.

On Sunday July 19th at around 3pm, we picked up the butter from the Sunshine Hills location. This location is a bit out of my way and I have not been there in years. I only went due to the promo and this was the only location in stock of the butter.
I sent my younger cousin to till 1 and I headed to till 2. Right off the bat, Marnie did not greet me. No "hi", "hello", "how are you". Even when I said "hi" she was looking down and continued scanning the butter. She did not look at me or reply to my greeting. At this point she said "she sent her kid to the other line". Did not occur to me that this comment was for me because it was not my child I sent to the other line, it was my younger cousin.
Then, she said to an employee standing off to the side, "I should've gotten my 6 sticks of butter too, otherwise we're going to be completely sold out". I was giving her the benefit of the doubt, as some employees don't get a chance to purchase items on promo because customers are first priority. Then when she said "I might as well call all my family to the parking lot and hand out their 6 sticks of butter too". I was completely taken aback. How rude can someone be? Especially directly in front of a customer. She acted as if I was completely invisible and had no concern that I am able to hear each comment she is making right in front of me. The transaction was done and as I was walking off, she said "what kid buys butter". I was completely aware of what was happening at this point and while walking off, I turned around and said "you are so rude, you are so f***ing rude". I was very angry and so shocked that this was happening. She then pulled the divider and looked the other way, without acknowledging me. I then left the store.

My question is, what allowed Marnie to be so judgemental and disrespectful, not only to me but to my cousin and also to the store itself. This reflects very poorly on Safeway. Clearly she had no concern besides being bitter and judgemental. She did not know my situation and had absolutely no right to disrespect me like that. I strongly believe she was being microaggressive towards me. I am a POC, as were the customers taking advantage of the promo. I understand many people were wrongly taking advantage of this promo but as an employee, please do your job properly. This means to work on your customer service skills and practicing EMPATHY. Very disappointed in the customer service I received from Marnie G. Also called the manager and complained because this is unacceptable. Do better, Marnie.

PHARMACY.rude.they told me come back in 30, i told them i was very busy had app.downtown; come back 45 min later, only to find out the forgot to confirm with the clinic, when i ask what needs confirmation they would believe that the amount given is real.not that it was not legible just purely questioning my integrity.ended up taking over 45 minutes to confirm, then had to wait additional hour for them to get the order ready.ended up spending 3 hours

Great store. Friendly staff but sometimes not enough staff on cash on a Friday afternoon at 5pm.i really like that they are not trying to force customers onto self check outs!

First note that I have been a LOYAL Safeway customer for 20+ years. I had such a horrible and embarrassing experience at this location today that I felt the need to share. We live about a 5 minute walk from there, and visit when we need a few things and not a huge shop. My 5 year old and I did our shopping, got checked out and I was attempting to pay a $61.00 bill. I tapped my card once, the machine made a funny noise and told me to swipe or insert my card (they don't have swipe) so I inserted the card and it quickly said card error. The girl tried doing the transaction 5 more times, repeatedly saying that it isn't my card but the machine has a problem. I was getting flustered and saying that I only use one card and I have no cash and I use this card every single day without issues and use this same card in your store everytime. So she said sorry and moved me to another cashier to try. SAME PROBLEM! But this time the cashier is repeating loudly that your card has a problem, it's your card and not our machine. I repeated several times that there is no way my card has an issue as I just used it, use it everyday and I have used it so many times without issue in your same store. I kept saying that your machine has caused my card to have an issue. She just kept repeating herself that it was my card until I got so embarrassed as by that time there were people everywhere staring at me that I asked her if she could have someone put back my groceries for me and she said yes and that she is sorry. I had to walk my small child back home without any groceries and feeling so mortified. When we got back home I called my bank and they told me there is no issue with your account, no block and funds totally available. She also agreed that their machine must have done something to block my card from processing the transaction. As I said above, I have been a LOYAL Safeway customer for over 20 years but I absolutely will NEVER return to this location or any Safeway location due to this experience. I didn't mind spending the extra $$$ when I knew it was going to a local business but I will most certainly be sticking with Superstore and Walmart from now on.

I love shopping at this grocery store. There is always a great selection and the meat is great quality. The produce is good as well. They have great sales on a regular basis. My favorite section is the flowers.:)

Fruit there is always turned, always old fruit just about to go rotten. Some sales meat is fresh but overpriced and also veggies are good

It's what you'd expect from a Safeway. -1 star because they don't have Premium Plus or any other brand of saltine crackers.
