Safeway Westview

This Safeway lacks some things that I really like in others. Fresh sushi is one of those things. I would like a bit more selection. Over all, it was clean and stocked fairly well.

Convenient small grocery store that always has what I need, the staff is friendly and helpful and the prices are better than most other stores. The meat department guy is the best lol

I can't always find what I'm looking for, it is often understaffed but the cash out team is amazing!

The paper bags without any handles are the worst idea ever.cannot carry them for more than several feet.

I bought two boxes of a cheese from Safeway at Westview, North Vancouver today (May 23,2022). When I arrived home realized that they are expired. I went back to the store and asked the customer service to call a manager so I can to him/her. A lady came to me as a manager and I think her name was Kayla. I explained the problem. She was really rude and without apologizing just said do you want to return them. I said, for sure I want to return them. I bought them based on my trust on Safeway, but I have never trust you and never back to Safeway.

Pharmacy is so helpful these days. The pharmacist really knows her stuff. Totally restocked and off to walk down such wide isles. Love it. They also have a nice selection of international foods and flavors.

This used to be our go-to spot for road trip snacks heading up the sea to sky. We'd get drinks, chips, candy and a family sized potato wedges. This weekend we found out they went from 2.99 to 7.29! What the heck?

Sterling silver steak is it! Guarantees tender or your money back. Highly recommend for steak lovers.

Love the new renovations in the store. Looks very upscale and modern. Prices are better than most other food and grocery stores.

Poor. Food selection is poor, prices are high, the store is dated, food is boring, staff is slow and complacent. The bakery, deli, and to go lunches and dinners are pretty sad. Wouldn't recommend.

We came here today for a quick grocery shopping and when we’re about to pay, the lady named “Noushi” who’s at the till where we’re at pretended she did not see us. She and her other colleague carried on chatting and caressing each others hair. What a great customer service! Let your customers wait while you do your own thing, right? !

The deli was busy and had a line up for sandwiches. After almost 10 min of waiting, the deli employee called for help. A few min later, a girl showed up and assist. I jumped the line, flagged her, and let her know I wasn't ordering a sandwich, but instead wanted to pick up some mojos. She boxed up less than a handful of mojos, weighed and printed a price tag for $5.28! I asked if this was the correct rate for less than 10 slices of potatoes wedges? ! The customer waiting for her bf's sandwich being made, showed her full box of mojos for $2.10! The girl behind the counter filled up my box and found the correct sku after asking the busy sandwich guy. What an ordeal for mojos. I should have stuck with my original craving for McDonalds.

Always helpful staff and quick with customer service.

Expensive as per all safeways but a good selection and the store is well stocked. Right off the hwy, so super convenient. Also has a liquor store and gas station in the complex.

Pretty good as grocery stores go. Had aisles and shelves everywhere - and full of colourful goodies. Wow

The cashiers are always very rude to the customers and Safeway don't really care about this problem!

Excellent store - plenty of product availability and first class customer service! I have been a regular client of this store for more than 10 years!

Great food in the deli, just dont find very helpful staff, it's like your down aisle 9 with no where to find things, even staff.

I do not recommend shopping here. The deli meat I purchased yesterday smells rancid, there was mold covered produce sitting on the shelf when I stopped in yesterday, I get to the cashier, they had their mask below her nose, everything about the store seems grimy, this place needs a complete overhaul. Although I live very close, I will not be visiting this store again.

Went to Starbucks for my birthday to get my drink. “Got the sorry this isn’t a corporate store”

This place is expensive. Staff are less than kind. I have bought lots of flowers that don't last two days. I wanted to buy 12 roses today. Mngr said I can open bundle of 18 and take 12 stems. Inside the 18 is two stems of baby's breath. He didn't let me take one. That's just mean. I didn't argue.

Friendly service staff are nice. Parking is at times like pulling teeth. Pharmacy is easily accessible and they too are very nice and friendly. North Vancouver has grown so much in a span of a few years that businesses need to start accommodating for the extra foot traffic.

Love the people here. Not bad selections of food. Very helpful if you can't find what you're looking for.

I used to think as Safeway not as high end. However these guys have revamped their selection of organic at a reasonable price. They also have items for foodies like me with little time, such as 10 min bake thin crust pizza, shredded baked chicken, and cheese plates. Again reasonable price is key. They are less expensive than WholeFoods and more expensive /similar to Nofrills but with higher quality selection available. Why would someone shop anywhere else?

Can't really go wrong here but they have a pretty limited selection of certain things. But great for your everyday needs.

Cashier at the checkout is always friendly, kind, professional, patient, reasonable, a super hard worker (cause almost every time I go there she’s on her shift and working with a smile) and she never gets in a huff when I come running into the store with only 10 minutes left till closing time. Awesome cheekaa. Thx doll.

I just read the review below mine. He witnessed an employee without a mask preparing sandwiches. I bought two sandwiches at Safeway Westview a few days ago! Last week, I was appalled that my cashier there took off her face mask to serve me. Then, as I packed my bag, she put her face mask back on. WHERE IS THE MANAGER? The selection of products at this store has improved, but the quality of its management team has taken a solid nosedive.

A bit depressing. Old school grocery store and very limited selection. Pick up some milk or some other sundries but not good enough for our weekly grocery run.

Seems like such a busy parking lot. Store itself is ok. Put off by entrance to the mall itself. Always traffic congested

Waited for 15 minutes standing there at the deli while the clerk who was taking chickens out of the oven just looked at us repeatedly as if she was going to come over and then didn't.

After 15 minutes we gave up.

I and my family have been strong supporters of Safeway over the years.
But today while waiting for assitance at the deli I was appalled at what I witnessed. A table behind the counter full of open faced sandwiches waiting to be completed. With a service person repairing the toaster, leaning over the sandwichs not wearing a mask? Or gloves.

How is this possible approximately seven months into the pandemic. We know that COVID is transfered by a person breathing on you or a surface.
Here is this person for at least 15 minutes breathing on food that someone is waiting to consume? If they only know.

Shame of you Safeway. You should know better.

It's ok but because of the Virus scare it's hard to get stuff right now parking is ok it's at a strip mall so there is other stores which is nice

Compentant, Knowledgeable, Honest and friendly pharmacists. Service Oriented people through out this Safeway.

Custom sandwich deals are better than most that offer similar. Starbucks + hundred other beverages to pick from. One stop conveniently just off the freeway. Close to many of the jobs I do.

The store has everything you would need to buy at a grocery store. They have good sales so keep your eye out for them. Public bathroom and plenty of parking. Also there is a Starbucks inside the store. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

This is a very handy place to pick up a few items on the way home to Squamish. Normally open until 10. Sometimes I just stop to get a bite to eat or something to drink. Liquid store is right next door so that's handy too!

Unfortunately Safeway is now over priced and their own brand name products are horrible. We purchased a Frozen Turkey breast, Compliments, it was hideous! To make up for it, I bought a prime rib roast. Stringy and not good. Not my cooking. I do it the same way for years. Not impressed. Basically ruined Thanksgiving weekend.

Good clean store, pretty big, very polite and helpful staff. Prices are a little expensive of course but not that much to be honest.

Slowly losing some of its advantage as the store is starting to feel tired and at times the shelves a little thin, but fruit and veg selection has always be good (pricey).

Almost all staff are fabulous at this Safeway. I say almost as there are a few that seems like they just don’t wanna be there. The store is a bit old, grungy in places, and needs some serious updating, but all in all, I like this place.

This has got to be the slowest Safeway. We come here regularly due to the location. However this is not where I do my big grocery shops. The cashiers are incredibly slow, every single time we are here. If the guy with the badges and hat and white beard is working we look for him (he’s knowledgable, friendly, and quick!) most of the time no one even knows where anything is. Super frustrating
If you go here, make sure you have time to wait in a 15 minute lineup with 1 person and 2 items in front of you.ridiculous

Little smaller of a location but has what you need.check out was very slow.on a saturday night at 8 pm.

Friendly staff, I do shop here regularly and never seen anything wrong or unprofessional.
Today I bought some wrong under counter medicine and I even lost the bill but they spend the time to let me change it to right one for same price, excelent customer service
