Authentic Katsu! Get the two dishes under their Katsu Specials and nothing else. The meat was juicy and fresh while the outside was crispy but not oily. Free parking for 2 hours in the back inside the building on Hobbis way. Keep in mind the place is not restaurant size, it’s more like a cafe size. Come early if you are a large group. They only have about 10-12 tables inside.

The food is excellent! They have the best deep-fried oyster that I have been craving.

Late weekday lunch was very quiet. I ate at the Robson St location a year ago and found the food here not to be quite as good, though still very good. Got the zenbu katsu both times, which provides more than enough for two. As usual, the sides and condiments stole the show - the sesame dressing on the table is addictive, the lemon salt is delightful. Service was wonderful.

A party of five, including 3 adults and 2 kids, endured an hour wait for lunch at this highly anticipated restaurant. The overall experience was decent. Our order consisted of 2 Rosu Katsu, a Zenbu Katsu set, and Potato Croquettes for sharing.

Highly recommend sharing the Zenbu Katsu for two – not only the highlight of our meal but also the best bang for your buck. Even with additional $8 for the extra rice, tonjiru, and salad, it offers excellent value, providing a taste of almost everything on the menu in one go.

As for the Rosu Katsu, it's enjoyable and possibly the best in the area, boasting a crispy exterior and juicy interior. However, it leans towards a frozen food taste.

The Potato Croquettes were a letdown, their flavor dominated by peppers. In summary, while the wait was long, the Zenbu Katsu stole the show, making it worth the visit.

Saku is tonkatsu made classy, the interior is chic and modern with Japanese accents including the presentation of the food. The portions were really great and everything was delicious!

I highly recommend the tasting set between 2 people with the added salad set (a mandatory $8 if you are planning to share). Of course this is also great for yourself if you want to try a bit of everything, it’ll just be plenty of food! No worries though, they do provide take out boxes if needed.

The pork cutlet and chicken cutlet were my favorites but it was also really fun to try the vegetable and seafood ones too. The breading was super crispy and not too thick. A variety of things to dip it into as well so you’re not getting the same taste every time. I got to try some of the curry too, highly recommend if you’re a curry katsu person!

Our whole table also really enjoyed the miso soup. It was both rich and light at the same time with pieces of meat in it too which was unique. The staff refilled both salad and soup if desired. Don’t forget to dress your own salad with the sauce on the table!

The staff was so friendly, I appreciated their attention to our table and they were happen to answer any questions we had. Prior to them.

The restaurant is small and there will likely be a waitlist. They also do take out but I think the dining experience is worth it.

I definitely recommend getting one of the Tonkatsus (Pork)! The meat is very tender and crisp on the outside.
I got the Tokujyo Rosu Katsu which went really well with the various accompaniments (i especially liked it with the horseradish).

I visited this restaurant because I heard it was a popular restaurant in a hot place these days.

I went to this restaurant last month, but it was too warm to stay inside, so I walked away the first time. I finally tried a couple of days ago. It was not too busy and the service was friendly. But I am not sure about the price point. It was too pricy in my opinion, and the portion was small. I added cheese katsu on the side, but it was literally a finger size lol.

We ate at Saku Coquitlam on a Saturday afternoon for my wife's birthday lunch celebration. We can't book a reservation ahead of time but good thing we had a friend sign us up for the reservation list a few minutes before we got there.

We ordered The Zenbu Katsu for CA$39.50 and Additional set of rice, tonjiru, and salad for CA$8. The portions were big and the taste was good. I didn't expect for the rice, salad and soup to be unlimited but it was so we got 2 refills.

The place is nice, the washroom is clean but the only downsides are that it's a bit small so after we finished eating, we see a line up of people waiting outside during a rainy afternoon.

The waitress that served us also had a bit of trouble communicating and so it was challenging to order. We also had an incident where the waitress was explaining the restaurant's policy that each person must order at least one food per person that's a certain dollar amount. However, it doesn't make sense when all but one of us, a party of 9, ordered at least more than one food. It would have been a better policy if it's a total dollar value per table divided by the total of people in the table so it equates to a total of $ per person policy.

All in all, the experience was good so the next time we’re in the mood for some top-notch Japanese Katsu, we know where we’re going. Definitely worth checking out!

Delicious katsu’s in a comfortable setting with amazing service. The food was absolutely delicious, with refillable rice, cabbage, and miso soup. Make sure you use the online waiting line to avoid waiting in-person. We waited approximately one hour and fifteen minutes for a three-person table.

It’s Saku. Standard maintained but no surprise. The restaurant is pretty small. Only have around 30-40 seats.

The zenbu katsu was such a great deal and enough food for 2 people. Everything was fried to perfection!

The atmosphere was good and the reception was great. The pork cutlet itself was by far the best I've ever had, but the sauce was a little lacking in flavor and salty (personal opinion). Overall, a satisfying meal!

I ordered the Tokujyou Katsu and it did not disappoint.
You get unlimited cabbage salad and miso soup, which are super tasty as well.
The presentation of the dish was beautiful which made things exciting to eat.
The staff was very pleasant and attentive.
The ambiance was perfect and the washrooms were clean.

Definitely going back to try out their other dishes.

While Saku has a higher price point than other Katsu-oriented restaurants, it is worth to go. The pork loin had a great flavour pallete that is complimented by the associated sides it came with.

The food was decent but nothing special that makes me want to come back anytime soon. I felt they cook my katsu a little too long, it was a bit dry. Service was great but place is small so be ready to wait 15-30 minutes or more for a table.

Place is small. You may struggle if you have a big group. They serve very decent fried pork cutlet. Although a tad more expensive than the competing brand a block away, the quality is much better. Breading is extremely crispy. We ordered a pork cutlet set, a prawn & scallop set, and the Zenbu combo; plenty to feed 4 adults. The check was a little over $100 before tips.

Clean and clean food. Current open atmosphere. However, one thing that is disappointing is that the amount of food is a bit small.
