Went on the guided kayak tour to Chocolate beach, highly recommend! It was a relaxed pace, and our friendly guide was very knowledgeable about the area and marine life. The equipment is in good condition, and they make sure you are comfortable maneuvering your kayak before heading off. A great activity to do while visiting the island!

Really hard to connect and book a bioluminescent kayak tour. When we finally did the poor girl was working a 12 hour shift in n the water. She was really nice and the experience was well worth the cost.

We rented kayaks from Salt Spring Adventure and were very pleased. The staff was knowledgeable, advised us about where to go and what wildlife we might see, and assured that we felt safe and confident in the kayak. We kayaked around Ganges Harbor for 4 hours and found it beautiful and relaxing. We would definitely rent from them again.

Bioluminescence Night Tour was unforgettable. A incredible experience. I would compare seeing this natural phenomenon to the magic of Northern Lights. An easy paddle and a must while visiting! Plan for a new moon as with the darkest nights is the best illumination of the light.

We had an amazing time at the Bioluminescent Kayak Tour with Jasmin. Everything was well organized and the note about parking in their communication email was greatly appreciated.

Jasmin was fun and communicative and the mid kayak cookies and tea in the night sky and sparkling water was an experience to remember for sure!

We loved the bioluminescence tour - we were lucky to have a good night (know it can depend on the conditions of the light pollution & moon). Would recommend!

I had a wonderful experience. They were determined to find a tour that would work for my available date, and I'm glad they did. The tour guides were friendly and knowledgeable, and kept everyone safe. They even brought cookies and tea for our little beach resting spot! We didn't spot any whales, but saw harbor seals and starfish. 100% recommend.

My spouse and I went on a whale watching tour. Our tour guide, Sky, was absolutely incredible and extremely knowledgeable and was providing tidbits of information the entire time, explained some history behind the island and even picked up garbage out of the ocean!
His driving of the boat was smooth and we were comfortable the entire time.
It was an incredible experience all around.

My husband and I did the 2hr Goat Island tour. It was a great day. We were nervous at first but our guide gave us plenty of instruction to ease our nerves. We saw lots of ocean activity and it was one of the highlights of our trip

Just the most wonderful woman who works at the front desk. Empowering compassionate and expert coach. I couldn't say better things about the service and I will be back. Not to mention solid and safe equipment and fantastic coaching about the local waters. Because, Hey, it is the open ocean.

Unfortunately, my husband and I had a terrible time on the whale-watching tour, due to the continuous rough slamming of the boat into the ocean on the way to see the whales. We both had really sore backs the next day. The company did not provide any warning that the boat ride to the whales (which was approximately 1 hour) would be so hard on one's body, as well as being an emotionally unsettling and disturbing experience. We were sitting in the front of the zodiac, and each wave was like another traumatic experience. I looked behind me as the boat relentlessly crashed onto the ocean's surface, and the general expression on the faces of the other passengers was one of horror and being in physical pain. I heard one man say sarcastically and bitterly, "Well, I can cross this off my bucket list. " When we got to the whales, the guide said, "Thank you for bearing with that, " acknowledging the waters had been rough, and then spoke about how waves were taller and winds were stronger in experiences he had had off the west coast of Vancouver Island. It felt that the statement was meant to put what we had experienced in perspective, but it had the effect of minimizing what we - the paying customers - had actually experienced. This tour could have been literally physically crushing if we had had any type of physical vulnerability (like being older than we are, or somewhat more frail.) The company must warn people in advance that this could be a violent and physically damaging experience, or else train guides to drive the boats in a way that is sensitive to their customers' bodies. Although we appreciated that we saw some whales, I would rather have missed them than have experienced that boat ride.

Absolutely love this place and it is definitely worth a visit! They told us where we should go with our sit-on-top kayaks and they did not disappoint at all. You can make it to the end of the islands and back within two hours if you do not stop for long durations! Super friendly staff, an amazing deal (price and site wise), and incredible views!

We booked a kayaking tour.
Our scheduled trip time turned out to be windy which made conditions not as comfortable, Jill our guide went over and above to reassure that we would be able to rebook and enjoy another. The next morning we were greeted with smiles and off for our trip to Chocolate Beach We were well informed and instructed not only about gear but safety while on the water. We never at any moment felt unsure or unsafe.
Jill was joyful and you can tell she has a passion for being on the water and sharing that experience. She shared so many interesting and fun facts along the journey. We saw loads of beautiful starfish, soaring eagles, sea lions and seals sunning themselves, we even spotted a raccoon on Goat Island!
We loved every moment of it and would do it again on our next trip to SaltSpring Island. Thank you!
