The blueberry scone was very dense. The morning glory muffin was definitely not something to write home about no noticeable flavours. The London Fogs were good. But the service was great!

Cute, local coffee shop. It has a lovely interior; clean, comfy and unique. The coffee and treats are tasty and the staff is friendly.

Employee was nice. I liked the interiors too. But the coffee was too expensive.

I ordered a "large size" Latte, but what they gave me was a vert small size coffee, which is probably equivalent to a "tall size" at Starbucks, as you can see in the picture. And it cost over $7, plus I had to leave a tip. This is outrageous.

Nice n cozy atmosphere, service is great. Macchiato is okay, love it really foamy but a bit too much milk. The croissant taste good.

Bike themed cafe with ample bicycle parking both indoor and outdoor. Circular croissant was delicious and brought to your table after ordering at the counter.

Perfect meet up spot for your biking group or just somewhere to have a snack and some coffee.the coffee here isn’t the watery kind, you can tell it’s good, high quality.definitely recommend.

Delicious coffee brews. Pastries baked to perfection. Staff and Service that makes you feel welcome and serve you straight at the table and lighten up your day. Beautiful decoration, a well setup outside patio… this is one of the best cafes I have been to in all of BC, let alone Richmond.

While visiting family in Steveston we walked and stopped at Sanctuary Cafe. What a lovely surprise! I felt welcomed straight away - the door has a sign indicating stroller parking inside. To walk into a cafe knowing they welcome kids with opened arms was so kind. The baked goods looked amazing - it was hard to choose just one. The huge peanut butter cookie did not disappoint. The staff happily accommodated us when I asked for a cup of mildly steamed milk for our son. While getting ready to leave I saw that they had a stack of kids books for them to enjoy. They've really thought of everything!

I want to like this place—I really do. They’re set up for cyclists, which more cafes should do. But that’s where the bonus points end. My big disappointment is their pricing for non dairy milks: $2 extra per drink. We need to encourage folks to order alt milks instead of create even more barriers for already expensive cafe drinks.

Great service by the guy on the register. I couldn’t say the same about the guy with tattoos making my drink. Once my drink was ready, I proceeded to grab a lid on the counter right next to where my cup was placed. As I had my hand on the lid I was told by the guy with tattoos not to touch those lids and to get a lid from the other area. If it wasn’t for the rude tone of his voice it wouldn’t have been a big deal. After this situation I was confused why the lids on the counter next to my cup were off limit considering they’re the exact same as the lids in the other area. Overall my drink tasted great but my impression of the cafe was ruined by that one individual.

Loved it here! The service was amazing, the coffee was delish, and the pastries were super tasty! Highly recommend!

Hello, I was a bystander today getting a coffee while a woman came into the Sanctuary coffee shop. She politely asked a man of Asian descent if she could bring her dog in quickly as she ordered a cappuccino, which he replied yes that was fine. From my and my husband’s perspective she was brushed off and wasn’t treated with dignity or respect. I go online to look at the reviews of the coffee shop and see she happened to write a review and the owner replied with a lack of professionalism and unpleasant response. I understand both sides of this situation but for the owner to write back in such a petty and degrading matter is childish and and again completely unprofessional. The response reminds me of what someone in high school would say to get their last word in. I would have gone back to this establishment but seeing how the owner of Sanctuary dealt with this matter is quite disgusting given his response and lack of knowledge that his employee “okay’d” the dog to come in at first. My family and I will not be coming back.

Charged over $4.50 for a sm cappuccino. I had ordered a med but they didn’t care they heard wrong. I came in with my small dog for litterly 1 min… if that as my dog has anxiety… they were so rude about the dog… no sleeve on the coffee and way overcharge for a cup not even full. Pathetic…
I’m a healthcare worker… imagine if I treated your loved one with such disrespect…
In response to the owner. I did ask if it was ok if I brought my dog in for a minute to place my order and the gentleman at the counter said yes. It was then another person that came out and said no dogs…
I do show respect. I’m not arguing about such petty things I am stating how I was treated… my order was incorrect.and your server was rude. As an owner you may want to take some responsibility

A wonderful cafe with great ambiance, food and friendly service! Have been here a few times while out for a bike ride and it's a great little cafe to stop at, as it's nestled along the bike path in a quiet Richmond neighbourhood. Love supporting local businesses!:)

The bakery items and coffee were not to my taste. These items are generally very preference based so given the many positive reviews, perhaps I just didn't pick the items that were their forte.

What an amazing Cafe, being a cyclist from Ottawa made itn so nice going there. The coffee, baked goods, cycling decorations and fellow cyclist made it a wonderful experience.

One of the better cafes in Richmond, good selection and service. Unfortunately you don't take cash, which excludes some people.

I love the banana with chocolate chips cake and the ice almond milk late was awesome!

Sanctuary Cafe is a nice stopover on a cycling trip to Steveston. It’s in a quieter part of the town, which means not many tourists get to this cafe. So you’ll mostly meet locals and cyclists. It’s a nice coffew shope and it remained in limited operation during the pandemic. They offer a friendly service and a good selection of coffee drinks, pastries and food. I come back on some of my rides when I need an energy or morivation boost.

Lovely treats (new and improved), great coffee and fantastic service. A comfortable, cozy place to relaxe and replenish after a walk, bike ride or drive to.

My go-to coffee shop on Saturday mornings! Great coffee/espresso and the chocolate banana loaf is the perfect cheat snack.

Gets busy around 10am, but I never have to wait too long.

Take your drinks over to the nearby waterfront for a nice relaxing start to your day (and then take a long walk as you proceed to feel guilty for that banana loaf you just ate).

Sanctuary Cafe has always gone above and beyond for all of my coffee needs. Their delicious oat milk and fresh Brazilian coffee beans are only one aspect of what makes them so great. The team there is amazing with the best customer service. Not only that but my coffee is always served at the perfect temperature. Highly recommend giving them a visit!

Another great place to stop for coffee on our weekly bike ride. Lots of room to sit outside with CoVid safety protocols in place.
Inside seatings are also open. But why sit inside with your coffee when it’s so nice outside.

Delicious coffee and a very good cinnamon bun. On top of that, very friendly staff and owner who make you feel welcome even during these stressful times.

As a cyclist I was very excited to try this place during a long ride. Unfortunately there was only one thing on the menu that was vegan or without eggs, and no other packaged products like chips or candies that could have curbed one’s appetite. Hopefully there will be better selection in the future, because the service and staff were very nice!

Wow, what a great location and experience (and coffee!). Even in these wacky times, the staff have figured it out. I felt safe and welcome, albeit distanced. My first cycling coffee and was welcomed by Sanctuary's community.

This is my favourite coffee shop in Richmond! The coffee and pastries are worth the pit stop and the batistas are one of the friendliest. My cyclist friends make sure you make this pit stop as part of your cycling routes!

Great little cafe with tasty snacks and baked goods. Perfect cycling destination. I feel like the city needs more cafes like this! The ham, cheese, and egg croissant sandwich was A+! And my friend had the banana chocolate chip loaf thing and said it was also tasty. Place includes spots for lots of bikes and great tables to sit and chat outside. What a great place for cyclists!

It's a tale of two coffee shops. Yesterday, a Friday I had an excellent experience (5 stars) there. The staff was helpful, friendly and Covid smart. The baked goods and lattes were delicious. Today, Saturday the staff was curt and the latte was awful, just hot milk. (2 stars.) This is a good business. It might just need more supervision on the weekends

Great cozy local community coffee shop. Bike friendly with baked goods from local bakeries. Gay friendly. Perfect for yourself or taking a friend and even going on a date. Enjoy!

This is a great little coffee shop in Steveston on #2 Road, near the water. They have spots to hang your bike on the wall. The baking and coffee are great.
All they need now is for the City to put some bike racks outside where cyclists can keep an eye on their bikes.

The smell of the baked goods and coffee is so inviting and the friendly crew at this bicycle oriented cafe make it a must hit spot in the community.

Hip place! Came during biking off season so it was quiet but a nice little coffee shop with character and personality.

The friendliest staff, great bites of food available and most of all, great coffee brought in from small batch coffee makers.

Cute spot for a stop. Friendly staff. Inviting atmosphere. Good coffee. Ordered an almond milk cortado and onion and cheese scone. Yumm. Asked for butter and came with a compostable knife. I love spots that incorporate sustainability.

Nice spot with friendly staff and good coffee. Also very bike friendly, as you can bring your bike inside. Complementary wifi is available, and there are a few power outlets around the shop at well. They also run a run group Tuesday evenings and a spin and yoga group on Thursday evenings. Free parking is available around the back.

Cool place away from "downtown" Steveston. Owner is really sociable and it's a hot spot for cyclists!

Finally a great place to grab amazing coffee in the London Landing area of Steveston! Owner and staff are amazing, and so are the treats. PB&J croissant is to die for (if you can finish it!)
