I booked a room 5 months ago. When I got to my room I found it was not the room I had requested.
Speaking to the front desk I was informed the room I was looking for had been rented out early in the week and not available.
I am very disappointed in the hotel and staff. I assumed 5 months booking notice would be enough to get the room I requested.
All I got was excuses from the front desk.
I would not recommend this Sandman or stay here again.

Spent 10 nights at the Penticton location with 2 adults and 3 under 4. Room was spacious enough and we made it work. Was stocked and cleaned as we needed and the staff were all super friendly throughout our stay. Huge shout out to Lynn for making the reservations super easy which made check-in really easy when we arrived. She went above and beyond, always a pleasure to be in her company

Stayed here two nights. Hotels is dated but was clean. Staff is very friendly. Rooms were not the greatest and very small. The bed and pillow was the worst I have ever slept on. The bed was lumpy and the pillow was super high. The bathtub was clogged (they fixed it once we notified them) The air conditioning unit is super loud, was hard to sleep at night. The curtains do not cover enough of the window to not let any light thru. I would not stay here again unless I really had too. The only reason I am going it a 3 star is because I can't give it a 2.5.

Staff are exceptional!
Full disclosure.this is a dated Sandman! But the staff are amazing! Both Lynn and Maddi at the front desk definitely show they are in a hospitality business for a reason! The location is exceptional! Even the staff at the local bar were very attentive!
Will definitely stay again!

This place is fine. Yes it is older than Nancy Pelosi and the fridge made more weird noises than Donald Trump breathing but the rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable and the staff was very nice. If you are looking for a place to sleep for a night or two it’s just fine. For the reviews complaining about price I’m pretty sure prices adjust with demand so if you are visiting during high demand times when lots of events are taking place it’s a no brainer that even the cheapest place will cost more.

Our room was not very well cleaned. There was mold on the vents for both AC Units, to the degree that we didn’t want to use them, so we settled for a very hot uncomfortable room. Stains on the walls throughout and we even found someone’s random pill around the bed. I stay in Sandman’s all over BC and this was not an overly pleasant surprise

The customer service I received prior to arrival and after check in was absolutely incredible. 10/10. I am very appreciative and grateful for Adhi’s help, compassion and understanding. I’ve worked in many customer service oriented roles and I know he is the good help that is hard to find.

That being said, this hotel was incredibly disappointing. There is an awful smell that is very strong in the hallways and the hotel room, the elevator seems to be original and unreliable, the decor, bedding, amenities, common area furniture and over all appearance is fatigued. We did not feel comfortable staying here as the photos were not even remotely close to what we received upon arrival.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Called the hotel the night before and request for early check-in. Lynn Dube left a note for the morning shift staff Jenn, and she was able to help me check-in early. While waiting for our room, I was able to use their Business Centre to do my work as well.

Shower was broken, non of the plug ins worked, no USB ports, conditioner was empty, left something in the room and they stole it, no pool or hottub access.

I stayed there early August 2022 while in town for a concert. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and had everything needed to make the stay pleasant. Manager Lynn was friendly, amazing and helpful. Downside was the pool and hot tub not open while there.

Rooms are definitely dated and could use a refresh. AC worked, kitchen was a plus, and location is really good. Pool was closed when we were there so that wasn't great but they probly want that open in winter.

First off I'm a Refrigeration mechanic. Got to my room and the AC is cycling on the High pressure switch cause it's filthy and my room was warm. I'm not fixing there stuff for free. Drain in tub was plugged and when I was done I was ankle deep in dirty water. The kitchen sink when turned on was spraying water out the handle lol. Cable is garbage, honestly what else is there to do after working 12hr days in the heat. Terrible experience and I nor my Co-workers will ever stay at a Sandman again.

Pool was shut, lots of mold in the shower, and super dirty hallways! So expensive for no reason! My back hurts so bad from that mattress! Free fiji water though

First off, the service was great.absolutely no complaints about the staff. Unfortunately, the layout of the hotel is a bit of a maze.it can take a really long time to get to some of the rooms. The room I had on the first floor, which almost felt like more of a basement, was actually out of cell service (dead zone), so I and several others I came across were going outside to make our phone calls and send/receive texts.

The hotel is also getting fairly run down. The nonsmoking floors still smell a bit like smoke and when I woke up in the morning I heard dripping water, but could not find any source of it in my room. When I stepped out of the room to check out, I discovered that the ceiling tiles in the hallway outside of my room had collapsed on to the floor and a pipe was dripping water onto the carpet. I told the clerk at the front desk and he immediately attended to it, but he also mentioned that they don't have any cameras in that area to identify how long the pipe had been leaking.

This Sandman is past it's prime and seems to be forgotten by management. The entire facility is dated and not well laid out or signed. The elevator buttons are broken, the elevator is slow and it's a maze getting to the third floor room I had with a huge dark stain on the carpet outside the door. Otherwise, it was comfortable and clean. Just don't expect a wow.

The worst experience you can ever get for a hotel stay. I would have given zero stars if I could.

1.) Starting from the fact that there were NO employees to assist you with luggage or anything else.

2.) The 1st room that we were allotted had a aweful pungent odor in the room that we could not bear for a single minute.

3.) The 2nd room given to us looked better. But when we stayed for 2 days, it looked that the room had NOT BEEN CLEANED for days at the least (see pic).

4.) The bathroom was falling apart (see pics).

5.) The swimming pool which had been proudly/FALSELY ADVERTISED in all the travel websites (including Sandman) had been NON-FUNCIONAL for over 2 years as we were informed. That was the ONLY feature we as a family with kids was looking forward to.

6.) There was NO breakfast included.

We've stayed in a few Sandman's before, but this one looked like it was on the verge of being demolished or waiting for a buyer to take over.

Having spent close to $500 for a 2 nights stay, we expected a much better room/facilities.

Would highly NOT RECOMMEND this hotel. Save your money and take it to some other property.

Very old and run down.room from the 70s.
Beds comfortable, otherwise there is little positive to report.
Even the pool area was closed for some repairs.
I would not recommend it.

What a dissapointment. I am sorry to say but it's an absolute dump. Extremely dirty, smoke smell in the hallways, the elevator is scary. As per the reviews.was the pool ever operational? 6 month ago it was under construction and it still is. We did not even have a window to the outside, we had a window to the non operational pool. It was so dark.my kids looked forward to this trip.well needless to say, they just wanted to get home.
The bathroom door has no lock which is odd but the door just fell out of the hindges. I stayed at 3 star hotels before but this hotel doesn't even deserve 1.

Friendly staff, great location, lots of fun! Our kids have grown up coming to this hotel. The pool is almost finished it’s upgrade, and we are looking forward to many more trips to come.

Biggest disappointment was the pool being closed for construction. After bringing this to the front staffs attention, they claimed on the website it said that pool was down for construction. I honestly didn’t check again if it was or not. I ended up getting a discount on 2 nights for the room but the cost still seemed expensive. The hotel is run down and dated. The ac unit in room 320 was weak and didn’t completely cool the room. Ac unit cover was duct taped on causing unit to randomly vibrate loudly throughout the night. Asked for a different room, but front staffed claimed they were fully booked even though they weren’t. Seems that shared hotel/bar bathrooms were not cleaned all weekend and the garbage can in the elevator was full and not emptied for a few days. It was a let down of an hotel experience. I would not rebook here (even with a $40 voucher for Dennie’s) as it was overpriced for a less than mediocre and dated hotel.

Thank you to Jenn and her team for making my family and in laws feel so welcomed! The boys absolutely love coming to Sandman and were so excited and thankful for the adorable gift basket that showed up right after we were able to check in early. We so appreciate the kind hospitality!
