Service for our hockey team has been outstanding. GM and staff have done everything to make our staff enjoyable and gone the extra distance several times. If Quesnel gets.ateam we will be staying here!

Arguably the best hotel in town, dated, pool closed during renovations but gonna look great when done. Large drop in and industrial base, walking distance from a lot of big boxes including an extra foods and a Walmart.

Very good hotel for price point, extremely clean.

Onsite Denny's food was great. Ate their twice.

Business advertises pool and hot tub. There is no hot tub or pool, and there hasn't been for months according to the front desk clerk.

I don't appreciate businesses that lie to me. Good business otherwise

Kyra from Sandman Quesnel found my 700$ glasses after I checked out, caught me in the lobby and returned them before they were gone forever. Incredible!

The rooms were disgusting to say the least. Outdated, dirty, water smells like sewer, tub would take forever to drain and would back up when showering, coffee pot didn't work, registered as 3 quests in our room but 9nly equipped for 2. Had to keep going back and forth to front desk asking for enough towels, coffee, cups. Furniture and decor is old, outdated and in bad shape. Nothing matches. Pool was shut down. No breakfast included. Would not stay here again and would definitely not recommend.

The rooms are looking a bit tired, but I understand that renovations are underway in the lobby. Hopefully that'll extend to the rooms at some point, but otherwise decent stay.

If I could comment on one thing, it was the shower. Something about the water in Quesnel is off as there is a weird smell with the water. Not sure there is anything you can do about it but it was a musty smell or a higher Sulphur type smell.

Jessica at the front desk was amazing. If I could take her to evey hotel I go to I would! If I stay there again, it is because of her.
Lobby has free cookies.
Coffee and tea available in the lobby in the morning. No free breakfast, a Denny's is attached.
Rooms are very dated. Hate the carpet. It was 'fine'.

Had an excellent stay, comfortable pillows and mattress. The room was a little bit outdated (I read they will be upgrading rooms in May 2023) but nonetheless, it was clean and no issues occurred. Big thank you to the general manager of the property, who contacted me within 30 minutes of my check-out to inform me that I had left something behind.

Wow. Just wow. I stayed here 4 years ago - best accommodations in town at the time. Now all I can smell is weed, mould and smoke. The pub closed years ago and the Denny’s (yes I name you Denny’s!) has about half the menu on hand with little to look forward to for an evening meal. Asked for a beer while I perused the deep fried and burger options and the waiter said they had 4 beer Budweiser, Molsen (paused to go to the bar and ask the rest), Coord and Miller. Ordered poutine and cheese sticks hoping the deep frying would kill the ickiness. Will sleep on my car before staying in this hotel again. Any suggestions for Quesnel?

I have stayed a few times at the sandman for 1 or 2 nights stay and was always satisfied
With the experience. I travel for work purposes and often with a crew on 12 hours shift. This hotel is not suitable for long stays and the should let people know! They offer no guest laundry, no microwave oven, and sometimes will switch your room in the middle of your stay, I am not impressed and next time I work in Quesnel I’ll take my business somewhere else.

Jessica, Cathy, Summer and the whole team rolled out the red carpet when we were in a bind with our other accoms. They got us 5 rooms with no notice. Super friendly and helpful. Good rooms, great staff. Adding the Sandman to my list of go to hotels. Thanks again.

Our room was dingy yet clean. Had a bad smell. Walls were dented and ain't was scuffed. Everything was very out dated and dark and uncomfortable. The furniture was old and looked like it was second hand. Not worth the money I paid. Will not go back. Will not recommend

Riley was absolutely AMAZING! Even though the suite was far under par, the staff was great at fixing it and because of Summer and Riley, I will definitely still return.

We were there late night at around 10: 30 pm.we were told by the reception desk that we were already checked in and they gave us that checked in room. The situation became awkward when we saw do not disturb sign on the door of our room. Instead of knocking on the door we called the reception desk guy. When he knocked the door no one opened it, but when he put his key in the lock, someone locked it from inside and hit the door very hard. We were all scared, kids started crying, lol. It was then 11: 30pm by that time. We were given another room which was not the same like i booked. Room was dusty, bedding was ok. Not a recommendation from me at all. STAY AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Person at check-in was very friendly and helpful. Check-out person also very friendly. Room was clean and beds were comfy! Only negative thing was someone had smoked in the elevator and that was unpleasant. Not much the hotel can do when people simply don't care.

Had a great last minute stay at the Sandman in Quesnel. The pillows and mattress were the most comfortable of any hotel I’ve ever stayed at! The room was clean and very roomy (stayed in the two double beds room). Front desk staff was polite and helpful.

The bathroom tiles need a deep clean. Cracked tiles need replacing. The beds were too soft. The furniture needs tlc. The staff was very friendly. The pool was fine. There were no queen size beds available, therefore there should be more queen size. I suppose some of these problems are due to covid and a shortage of staff.

This place looks like no one has cleaned it in months. Just change the bedding and towels. Hotel lobby, elevators, hallways, glass are dirty. Floors are dirty, walls are dirty. Greasy fingerprints all over this place. Our beds and bathroom were clean, but the carpet was gross with pet hair, there were spills on the the walls, children were running continuously in the hallway above us until 11pm, and no one at the front desk picked up the phone after 10pm. Other hotels in the area were booked up or we would have left. Both girls at the front desk were nice and helpful so thats my 1 star.

When booking the room by phone was amazing service.
Rooms needed vaccrum and cleaned alot better.
I suggest that the rug in the pet friendly rooms should be replaced with hardware flooring. Rugs looked stained and difficultly to clean.
Other then that the stay was nice.

The only reason for three stars is that the front end staff were very pleasant and friendly in our check in process as we had travelled over 9 hours.

Nighttime auditor Riley was also very nice to deal with and had a great smile as local contract workers came in late from their shift.
He had an amazing smile to greet everyone. Also fairly knowledgeable on area.

However, our Queen suite appeared to have previously uninhabited for a very long time. Consequently it gave us the willies in the state we discovered our unit.

Seems Mother Nature had been busy depositing thick layers of dust on top of the two AC units and window sills.
Is probably why room a peculiar odour.

Top of the microwave up on a high shelf was grimy.

We wiped everything we could with the Lysol wipes we had with us for traveling.

Then we saw the bathroom (somewhat spacious) with the dual entryways

We don’t believe that the tub had been cleaned since pre Covid-19
(Will attempt to Photos attached -> feel free to enlarge them as my Phone’s camera is old)

Aside from the grime in the tub itself.the chrome was saturated in water spots and …? !?
The grout around the tub and the soap dish had an orangish scum
There was black mold in the corners

We wiped down the toilet seat as we were unsure of its sanitary condition as well

We weren’t expecting perfection BUT if your rooms are gross… count on word getting around.

Didn’t even care about the 1990’s style of decor and old wallpaper!

The entranceway and lobby are a bot worn down and some features were broken, walls are thin and you can hear people talk on the other side of the wall sometimes, beds were comfy and I slept favorably.

Wonderful experience booking on the phone, checking in, and checking out. Only complaint was the condition and cleanliness of the room. Fresh caulk and a wipe down would go a long way. Also the bathroom door would not close as it interferes with the jam at the top. Overall still 4/5 stars.

Room smelled. TV doesn't work. Bathroom fan so loud it could wake the dead. Grout berween the tiles in the shower area black with mould. Asked to be moved to another room, however, front desk said they could not oblige.

The staff is great. It's a real shame the owner has let down his workers thru this heat wave and not fixed the A/C for them. This is abuse!

Ask for a room with a balcony was told yes.the building doesn't even have balconies. Pool closed, shark club also closed.was not told any of this when I called to book. Also couldn't get a key card to our room as the machine was down. The only front desk worker had to walk everyone to their room and open door for them. She actually told another customer that they had to wait 30 mins before she could get them to their room. Anytime I left my room I had to ask to be let back in. Dirty floors in our room.terrible terrible customer service.

The only good thing I have to say is about the maintenance guy. He saw me struggling to get into my room and kindly helped me.

Do not recommend staying here.

Stay here only if you enjoy using your cell data. The Wi-Fi is unusable, I would not recommend staying here. Bathtubs don't drain either, two thumbs down.

Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Just what I expected.

I would have given it a 5 except the attached restraunt. I would avoid this particular Dennys.

Worst check in, would base that on lack of experience, the machine that codes the keycards broke and instead of unplugging it and plugging it back in the lady walked everyone to there room, she was telling people 30min wait to get checked in, she never called maintenance or management.

On top of that they charge 200$ per night damage deposit (pre auth) 10day stay = 2000$ pre Auth on a 1300$ bill.

I stayed 2 nights with damage deposit of 400$ room 110$ per night, the we moved a chair in the king suite and had loads of crumbs under it, the water smelt like sewage and I do not recommend drinking the hotel tap water.

I did bring my concerns up to another staff member but that went side ways a little quick.

I want to mention this was my first direct booking with sandman and I will NEVER direct book again.

Great hotel. Clean, etc.
Problem is that they charged me twice for the same two rooms saying that one of the rooms never signed out so they are trying to charge me for 2 extra nights on one of the rooms, which, obviously we weren't there for. We have to come back to Quesnel a few times for business so it would be in their best interest to quit bullsh! Ting around and give me a refund or a credit on the next trip.
Apparently I should talk to the manager tomorrow. We will see what he says and I will update my review accordingly.

Only one negative: the card keys wouldn't work. I hauled my luggage up to my room three times-finally with the desk clerk in tow-before I was able to get into the room.
The employee said that they've been having trouble with the cards, and that it's been getting worse.
Everything else was fine.

We had 15 vehicles participate in our 2020 Fall Colours Specialty Car Tour, so when we stayed the night at the Sandman Hotel in Quesnel, we were very pleased with the service and the hotel itself.

Apparently they don't accept cash on check in or anything else but a credit card. And if you try to use your company credit card they don't accept that either. So me being a truck driver tired and at my max hours for the day they are making me drive to another hotel. I don't understand why cash isn't accepted anymore i offered to give a $500 deposit and the guy said no cant accept that. And he claims to be the manager. I didn't get his name but he is bald and wears grasses. All I needed was 8 hours sleep then I can continue on with my job. Thanks for nothing Sandman Hotel. Ill NEVER stay at your hotels again. And I stay in 2 to 3 nights a week in a hotel. I hope you don't treat all truckers like this or joe blow eiither.

1- there is mold in the shower grout.
2- there are streaks of liquid on certain spots on the wall.
3- light switches and door handles not wiped down (as i wiped them myself and grime came off).
4- walked into the room, and it smelt like mens cologne, Not Like it had been cleaned. Like someone had just left and they only made the bed.
5- The AC made my throat dry up and coat, with whatever chemical it uses to get cold.
6- i used their spare blanket, and it felt stiff and smelt musky. Those should be washed at least once every two weeks to keep from going stale.
- the accent chairs are worn and look/feel dirty. I realize that’d be a tough one to clean but if its at THAT point, perhaps a removable cover should be used so it can be washed.

Thought it was ok until I realized I wasn't treated like everyone else that stayed here. Staff didn't greet us when we checked out nothing! No how was your stay have a goid day thank you for staying with us NOTHING! On top of that there was no internet during out stay and ut still wasn't working when we checked out, no apologies about that. Very upsetting to be treated like this!

No fridge or microwave in your room for starters. The air conditioning sounds like an aircraft taking off outside your room. Take a shower right before you checkout so you don’t smell the sewage smell coming back up the drain for hours. A discredit to the sandman brand.

The hotel was decent and the price was very reasonable. Everything was clean and I couldn’t hear any outside noise from my room. The pool and hot tub were open but with limited occupancy due to Covid. The drive to downtown Quesnel was just a few minutes, and there were plenty of shops and restaurants in walking distance.

Very well received by front desk manager Jesse. This was our last night of a 14 day motorcycle trip from Kelowna, B. C.to Haines junction, Yukon Territory. I must say the beds and pillows were the best of all the motels we stayed at. Of course, having a hot tub and swimming pool was a bonus along with a Denny's restaurant attached to this Motel. When departing the Motel the following morning, I was cut off by an erratic driver who happened to be a guest at the Motel. This was witnessed by Sandman Manager "Andrew" who took immediate action in dealing with the driver advising this type of driving would not be tolerated on his property. Kudos to Andrew for advising me of his follow up action. I've stayed here in the past and would highly recommend this Inn when travelling through Quesnel. By the way, great rates!

The first room I was given was not cleaned properly - coffee maker had coffee from previous guest in it. Second room, hallways, and lobby were infested with carpenter ants. Staff was very rude and told me "nobody forced you to stay here" when I complained about the ants. Avoid at all costs!

-UPDATE-

I was contacted by the GM, Andrew, and he has made the situation right. Beds were comfortable, so assuming the ants are gone this is actually a pretty good hotel.

Room smelled like sewer. It came from water in the bathroom and couldn’t take shower because of it.
Staff offered to change room for us but had the same problem
Very disappointed considering I had wonderful experiences at other locations. Definitely needs an upgrade in plumbing

Room smells like a sewer. Obviously some septic or plumbing issues
. Seems to be coming from the sink in bathroom. No fridge or microwave in room.
Also stayed 3 nights, then they jacked price up for the fourth night.
Won't be coming back.

My wife, children and I spent a night at this hotel and we ran into a cleanliness issue. While playing in the room my two year old son found some dog feces and a rawhide dog bone neatly pushed against the wall. We did tell the front desk about the issue and were more or less brushed off. My advice is to really inspect the room before you decide to get comfortable.

The water from the sink and shower smelled like rotten eggs.we asked the front desk about this and they said it was a city problem and there is nothing they can do about the smell.they said there is sulfur in the water and it is safe for use.we stayed 2 nights for a ringette tournament, i unfortunately showered in the sulfur water and made sure that my wife and kids did not shower in it.we will not stay here again.

After a loud, raucous, hockey-team-filled weekend, the Sandman comped my two nights. Awesome that they put the client first. Will definitely stay at Sandman in the future!

Very friendly staff and beautiful lobby, but missing some expected comforts in the rooms (no mini-fridge, no microwave, no desk chair). Not quite up to the standard I expect from Sandman.

Drove from Prince Rupert to meet my sister who drove from Chilliwack. We specifically planned the stay here, for the pool. We both have kids and we’re all looking forward to a swim after being stuck in the car for 8+ hours. My sister arrived an hour before us, checked in. Asked what time the pool closes and was told 11pm. We finally arrived and got the kids ready for a much needed swim. Go down to the pool, only to be told the pool is closed, but would be open in 20 minutes. We then were told it should be fine to swim in. We decided not to let the kids swim, as there was a chemical imbalance. We were told it would be open again shortly, so we told the kids we could swim in the morning. Woke up, pool was still closed. Needless to say, we had 5 restless kids all night and our stay was nothing like we expected. One room didn’t even have a fridge. There was hair all over the bathroom. Had we known the pool was closed upon check in, my sister would have continued to drive and met us in Prince George. We will not be staying again, nor wouldn’t recommend it to anyone in the future. Our one night visit was ruined.

The building shows its age, but updates have been done and are still in progress. Great location, lots of parking, and have both a Denny's and a Shark Club attached for dining. Staff was very friendly and helped us with special requests. The bed was super comfy, prompting a spur-of-the-moment second night's stay (especially the pillows.need to find where to get some for my home!)

Best Hotel in Quesnel! Hard to get into, but with it! Clean, well situated, Seattle best coffee in room, verbena hair conditioner, and fitness area. Be aware, no continental breakfast.

This place has is dated looking. Bathroom toilet was not clean. And all I can hear is semi trucks rolling by. WiFi was decent at least.
