Sandman Hotel Revelstoke

Second time staying. Overall pretty rough for the price. The staff is very professional and helpful so no issues there. However the room was in dire need of renovations and had a pretty funky smell (cheap cleaner?). The bathroom had hairs in it and was not well cleaned. Also the pool was closed for renovation which was frustrating considering it was the only reason I booked the place because we were traveling with a toddler. (To be fair they were offering free passes to the aquatic center but the last thing I wanted to do was put the kid back in the car). Also the key cards didn’t work the first time around. Overall, for me it’s not worth the few bucks saved now that there are more and more options in Revelstoke so we will not be coming back.

Generally speaking, I have stayed at other hotels in Revy before with a much better experience. Going forward I would only choose Sandman as a last resort if nothing else available.

Rooms were alright (outdated, worn/damaged, extremely cold on arrival), service was poor and staff seemed disinterested. Location pretty great along the highway and walking distance to a few restaurants.

Check in was easy and very welcoming. Asma is a rare gem at the front counter. She is absolutely wonderful and efficient. Everything in room was clean and well stocked. No issues at all. We will definitely return.

Wish I had read the reviews before booking. Our company has stayed at several Sandman hotels and had good experiences. This one is not great. Room smells funky. Hallway and stair carpets are pretty haggard. Toilet and bathroom are filthy. Bed is ok but kind of afraid to get u Der the covers, will just stay clothed and sleep on top of the covers. Probably time for Sandman to pull their affiliation with this place until it gets am overhaul. Overall a big disappointment. And adding another apology from management is not enough, clean up your act please.

Overall the experience was good. The room was near the exit door so lot of noise whole night otherwise it was good stay everything nearby.

Front office manager Uday insured that I had the room most appropriate to my needs (accessible) and was personable in introducing himself during my stay. I had a lovely 12 days visiting with family in the area, and hope to return again.

My worst hotel experience in 3p years traveling. Room was horrible, hot, humid, no light, no A/C properly working, a small window opening on the patio of another room. These kind of room shouldn’t be rented…… one star because we cannot rate it with a minus 3 stars….

Hotel was very busy but convenient. Comfortable place to stop on the way between BC and Calgary.

I don't know where the photos are from but the hotel does not match the photos online. Both pools and both hot tubs were not working. This property is dated, the room was dirty. The value for money is not there for this property.

It's an older hotel. That being said, the owners have done many upgrades and the service has gotten very close to 100 percent
And it is in a great location, close to everything. And lots of parking for bigger units.

Stuck with the Hwy closed, Torbin managed to get us and our dog checked in early. Great customer service.

Sandman Inn in Revelstoke rocks! We were stranded there Christmas Eve on the way to Calgary and they were amazing. Lewis especially greeted us with such empathy and kindness.wow! Calgary's Sandman in the west was also wonderful, putting our safety over money and giving us a full refund with less than 24 hours to go. I will stay there again, hopefully under less stressful conditions.

We booked a King room with kitchenette. It was the outside access rooms. We drove through the night from Victoria, BC, and checked in late (1 AM). As soon as we entered the room, a thick scent of leftover cigarette smoke hit us. The room appeared to be grimy and dingy (my partner compared it to a “sleezy motel”). The couches were stained. The drawers had dirt and crusted food. Looked like it had never been cleaned. The kitchenette is old, outdated, and rusted. The only thing that was clean about the room was the bed and bathroom thankfully.

But we needed sleep so we just stayed the night. The next morning I told the front desk and they sent someone to come with a febreeze bottle to spray the room. It lasted a few minutes.
So I asked if there was an extra room for us to change to. They later came back and offered a room change and gave us a smaller room without the kitchenette (which at this point I didn’t mind).

The newer room was MUCH better! It felt like a standard room. Nothing fancy. But at least clean! They also refunded us the difference for the room change.

Overall, service was good and friendly. But I would be assertive and ask for what you need if you’re not happy with the room.

We brought our skates but we're disappointed to find the pool to be slightly above freezing. Otherwise our stay was pleasant, Lewis at the front desk is awesome.

All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful (front desk). We ate at Denny's and it is a nice touch to have the restaurant operating on the premises.

The entire service team at Revy Sandman is on point. Fantastic service on all levels of care. In particular Ishan is a star, his thoughtfulness and kindness were noticed and appreciated.

The room was spacious and clean, central location and friendly staff. Definitely would stay again next time we are in revelstoke!

I was told we could swim in both pools. I took my kids to go and swim and there was an “out of order” sign on one and 2 of the employees said we could still swim in it yet it was ice cold. So we went over to the other pool to go for a swim being told we could and again it was freezing cold my daughter didn’t even want to put her feet in it. They shouldn’t allow anyone at all to swim in it. Also the hot tub was more of a luke warm tub. When I asked for a discount when checking out for this I was given a $20 dennys coupon which was nice. The only reason we stayed at this hotel was for the pool for our kids. Highly disappointed and don’t think it was worth 331$ for two nights at all. Friendly staff but misinformed most definitely. Clean rooms other than that and comfortable beds.

So I left a review earlier in the month, pertaining to the staff @ the Sandman Revy. I complimented the entire staff because they deserve it. However I mentioned Mackenzie (by mistake) when I really meant Louis. I’m sure Mackenzie is also great, but my accolades were for Louis and all, (and I mean everyone) of his staff. In all my years I haven’t received the hospitality or customer service that I received at that hotel. Not in the entertainment, the food or the hospitality industry. If your one of those ppl that like to look for things wrong…… well you ll find it, I mean it’s not a brand new hotel, …… but you can look all day long, and won’t find any with the staff there. God as my witness there a cut above the rest, hands down. Keep up the great work guys. Your killing it. ……. Ps Give Shawn a raise or I’m going to talk him into being a plumber. We had a terrible situation at another hotel fixed by the great service at Sandman Revelstoke. Lewis heard our situation and worked hard to ensure that we found a room on short notice. Clean, air conditioned room with wifi. Can you believe we were charged less than the other room we were given at another hotel where there was no AC or wifi…and feces stains on the bed and in the bathroom? We thank you so much for saving us from a terrible experience. Lewis, you’re a great employee who made the hotel look great with your kindness and thoughtful suggestions even for dinner.

Wouldn't think of staying anywhere else in Revelstoke. Sandman has been our favourite mountain stop since we discovered it and Zala's steakhouse a decade ago. Your front desk staff are first class. Thumbs way up for Lewis! He booked my reservation for me a few months ago and was there to welcome us. SO nice to put a face to this charming, helpful employee. Savannah was also very kind on our way out today. Room was clean and fresh, nice ventilation, comfy beds. See you next time!

Very tired, worn place. Shower curtains need replacing, window coverings need washing, walls need a wipe down. Doors are covered in peeling paint/mactac. Cleaning is sketchy. Doors to upper floor exits don’t shut properly. No pen or paper in room. Carpet smells Fridge had to be unplugged because noise was so bad. Meh…ghetto hotel imo but staff friendly.

Good rooms, pool onsite. I love staying at sandman because there's always a Denny's attached. Convenience store across the street and river access within 5 min walk.

Spacious room, but paper thin walls. We also had a dirty towel. Our ground floor room was bordering the parking lot so we could hear people speaking/loading their vehicles in the morning. It was also in a separate building from the lobby and it’s a bit confusing to find your way, especially late at night; they do give you a map of the premises to help you though. Lots of parking so you don’t have to worry if you need to check-in late.

We have stayed at this Sandman several times. Each time before this there have been no issues. This time our room was very dusty and unkept. Bedspread had stains on it.
Very disappointed. The rooms aren’t being properly cleaned.

The A/C was too loud at night. We set the A/C to auto, whenever the machine starts to work, it’s too loud. So me and my gf could sleep at night. At the same time, we had a dog, whenever there’s someone walking outside, it wakes him up. It’s noisy.
I will never come back again.

Great staff, good hotel. Clean, but fairly worn and a bit dated. It's clearly been maintained as best the staff can, however. Very comfortable and clean, and that's what's really important to me.

Room was very nice. No complaints there at all. Only issue was trying to find the check in office. It is a multi building facility and can be confusing trying to figure it all out, especially at night after driving all day.

The room wasnt decent but could have been cleaner. We booked so we could use the pool and hot tub and the pool area was disgustingly dirty. So much dirt around the pool area. The hottub had a thick film of yellow dirt buildup that you could run your finger through. Not impressed. Front desk staff was very friendly.

Older hotel. Hallways have that distinctive smell of old buildings. Room wasn't too clean, lots of dust. Toilet is oddly organized.
Good enough for one night

Not my favorite memory, so many people smoking in there rooms. It was very busy, I suspect most were evacuated from the forest fires. But I couldn't say I enjoyed my stay here

Dirty and false advertising. They have a special offer. Buy one night get 1 free but the black out dates were the entire time the offer was available. Lol a complete joke.we paid for the 2 days yet they'd only give us 1 night. The front desk a joke.

Location was great and it was quiet and the beds are comfortable. Accommodated our dog and had a nice patch of grass for her to run around. The kids loved the pool. Overall nice stay and would stay again.

The rooms were clean. Bur the bathroom door wouldn't close all the way and the outlets all need to be changed as they wouldn't hold a plug very well including the one for the light by the bed. It seems like a fire hazzard.

Most of the staff were alright. There was some hair in the beds of our room and they transferred us to another cleaner room, took nearly an hour for someone to come up though. It seems like they were putting young people into the known "gross" rooms. I expected a lot more from a sandman, having stayed at other locations.

The building seemed old. Toilets hardly flushed and the bathtub barely drained.
No access to ice machines, due to pandemic.

Hotel is great. Clean with friendly staff but don’t count on the Denny’s to be open or able to dish up.

The hotel was kind of clean. The room were clean but the halls were discusting. Also, if you want you room to be clean you need to call them for that to happen they will not doing it on their own, not even change the garbage or bring more towel. If you need pen or paper, make sure you bring them with you as none are provided for your convinience.

I would like to thank the front office personnel (Sandman Revelstoke, Canada) for helping out with the stay. We made our booking with Expedia and that information was not available on Sandman system when we went to check-in. So the front office manager spoke to Expedia and relocated us at Ramada. Thanks to Sandman for going the extra mile to make sure the guests are not left out.

Price gouging. $400 for one night for a plain room with 2 single beds. Stains on one of the sheets. Old ugly building that has a fresh coat of paint. WiFi doesn’t even load a simple webpage, so forget about Netflix. Indoor pool is insanely cold. I wouldn’t be complaining if this was a motel for $99, but for $400 it is disgraceful.

Overpriced, desk staff were pleasant. Attached Denny's was only open for phoned in takeout orders.

It was the ideal stop-over during my trip to the west coast! The rooms were clean, the hotel quiet and the service was great! I would certainly recommend it.

Stayed here for one nite. Sounds coming from the wall throughout the nite which really messed with our sleep.

A Canadian owned business sure knows about customer service. We received a response from the property manager apologizing for the inconvenience, apparently the refrigerator in the needed replacing.

The bed was comfortable and clean. As was the hotel in general. The staff at check-in were accommodating and friendly.

For the price, the room and the facilities were really good. Location is a plus. They also followed all COVID-19 protocols. But the mattress was not in good shape and sagging on one side. Bathroom was not cleaned properly. I could see dirt in the shower and all the corner. BWP next to this looked good from outside. I would try that next time.

Very average room, but nothing negative to say about it. I like staying at this hotel chain. I would recommend staying here for the price.

Giving four stars because we had a problem, but the manager on duty resolved it and gave us 50% off our stay, which I was impressed with. Would probably try them again - we got a suite and it was nice, 2 bedrooms and a kitchen, it was pretty great for the price.

DIRTY! First room had little curly hairs in the bath! We didn't check any further and immediately asked for a new room. Second room was better but Then we found bottle caps on the floors and it was dusty and not very clean. Very disappointing especially during a global pandemic you would hope they upped their hygienic standards.

Our room smelled musky, our tv kept shutting off or wouldn't turn off, there are 2 pools but ours was closed so we went to the second pool, the water looked dirty and was very out dated, kids were splashing us so we left within minutes

No problem getting a room however, when we walked into the room the stench of cigarette smoke was overpowering. We were not informed that the room was a smoking room at all prior to entry. Secondly, the towels in the room were dirty and the toilet did not flush at all. We went to the front and asked for a new room which went smoothly and we were happy. Until we went into the second room. Upon inspection, dirty sheets stained with who knows what greeted us. Fairly disappointed in Sandman and their lack of care and attention not only to their rooms but also to their guests. It's ok for a night but I would not recommend it for anything longer.

We left after being in the room for 10 minutes. We went to put our food in the fridge and someone’s mouldy food was in there.we were offered another room, went to check it out and it smelt of cigarettes. I’m sorry but during a pandemic I draw the line at paying $200 for a room that comes with someone else’s mouldy food. How well was the room cleaned?

I assume hygiene will be the priority in view of COVID. However, I still found hair on the bed, indicated they didn't change the bedsheet. And the room also had an oily smell.

Very clean but the room was really cold. No heat in the room when we arrived. It was slow to heat up.

The room wasn't very clean. For example, the beds were messy, there was used coffee in the coffee maker, the bathtub didn't drain properly and the sink didn't drain at all. We asked for slippers, robes and a cot and were denied. We asked for a late check out and were told "no". It was more expensive than initially quoted.

Had to have the bell service let us into our room every time we left as they could not figure out their room key system.every single time we left the room

Nice rooms and easy access to Denny's make this our choice for annual skiing trips to Revelstoke.

Had a great stay at the sand man! Great prices and the rooms came with tickets to Revelstoke mountain! Awesome little town and they have a free shuttle service that will take you all over the town and to the resort as well! Nice pool and hot tub as well! Definitely worth staying here if your looking for a room and ski combo!

Impossible de relaxer, nous entendons tout des chambres voisines et les employés n’interviennent pas plus qu’il faut dans le cas de bruit excessif (musique, entre autre). Si vous voulez faire la fête sans être importunés, cela semble l’hotel idéal pour le faire. J’aurais préféré en être avisée avant de payer pour venir y dormir.

Very nice room. Impeccable. More than 100% satisfactory, however need do a better job of cleaning the snow. Great difficulty for a senior manoeuvring thru the mess, after the hardship suffered getting here on New Year’s Day. Blinding rain, snow, black ice, road delays Deserve more than a 5 star if not for this

The rooms was clean, however the room I was in the bath tube didn't drain very well. Depending on where your room in you can hear the echo from the pool

Lisa, the manager was absolutely incredible, we booked through her and no detail was missed. The room was very clean and the service at the front desk was amazing. Last time we came we didn't have quite as good of an experience but I've chalked it up to a one time thing as this visit showed how awesome the hotel actually is. I will recommend this hotel to family and friends for sure.

Side note: Avoid the attached Dennys at all cost. We tried to give it another chance (last time it was awful as well) but the food was inedible and we ultimately ended up with a refund (got food elsewhere). The best food we received was a sandwich which had mushie lettuce and was missing half the ingredients on it (it came deconstructed as well hahah). I didnt put it in my star rating though as it isn't the hotels fault by any means.

Just the place to get away. My preferred place between Calgary and Kelowna. Price is very good and cleaner and kinder than most.
