Sandman Hotel & Suites Kelowna

N/a - n/a - When I booked it was before the pool closure. I feel the courteous thing to do would have been to let people who had reservations know that there would be no pool. I didn't know till I arrived and that had had been one of the factors for booking at the Sandman. I like the pool and was disappointed it was closed.

I booked a room for medical reasons asked for ground floor room got a 3rd floor room too make stairs for my partner to walk up after his procedure, got moved to 2nd floor room without stairs. The construction from the pool was so loud no one could relax or even talk in our room. Got moved to an executive suite in the tower. I moved a chair so my husband could sit in the living room and watch TV there was garbage and crumbs under the chair, opened the pull out couch and had to strip the bed and remake it as there was popcorn all over it. The fan in the bathr9om was covered in dust hadn't been cleaned in months. I also booked at this hotel cause of the indoor pool and we had to bring out 7 year old with us. The staff I booked with knew I wanted access to the pool. The day we arrived the pool was closed for construction. I booked the room through the front desk to make sure the pool was open. Will definitely not be staying st this sandman again

Recently we were at Sandman.
The rooms were not so fancy but they were clean. More importantly there was girl at front named Tania, she was very kind and helpful. And also very accommodating of our needs.

Great stay slept like a baby room was clean. Have to give a shout out to the staff we had T. V troubles and got prompt service from maintenance man Josh, and a nice lady Alishea helped us get more chairs up to our room. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

It is what it is, not exactly the five star hotel, but it's got everything that you need

The only good thing about this place is the location, the service and facilities are very bad, they don't make your room even if you ask or you take the things you need even if you mark.

If you are not in a hurry, I recommend staying somewhere else.

Stayed here one night and do not recommend it. Checking was nice and easy, front desk was polite and efficient. Number one reason for not staying here again is the cleanliness of this hotel! We found dust on the blinds and the hallways and floors looked dirty. The pool is dark and dated. The hot tub was pretty dirty with floating hair and film on it. They had no towels at the pool, because they were being laundered. When it was time for bed (which was really late) we decided to check the bed, like we always do at any hotel. As we checked the bed we found blood stains on one of the duvet. It was so late at night and we were so exhausted that we decided just to remove it and sleep on what seemed clean sheets. When we checked out in the morning I mentioned it to the front desk. She apologized but didn't seem to really care. I had taken a picture and showed it to her, she apologized once again and said that the best she could do was to give me a $20 discount on our stay. I would have rather stayed somewhere else and payed $20+ extra anywhere else that is clean. If you are looking for a place to stay don't waste your money, Kelowna has many other options.

After a day of things going wrong with a broken down vehicle and hefty repair bill on the horizon. We came to the Sandman hotel after exhausting all our options to get home. We were greeted by Shreyansh, who helped us to find a room in our limited budget at the last minute. He went above and beyond his duty to help my partner and I in our time of need and just want to recommend him and the Sandman to anyone who comes to town.

Body wash or Shower Gel should be included with personal products! Coffee was excellent! Bar One burger

I would appreciate pillows with different thickness. They all seemed the same, and were too thick for us. Otherwise everything was perfect. We really enjoyed the swimming pool and the hot tub.
Employees at the front desk were helpful and kind.

Location was great just off hwy, rooms and hotel is ok. Service was the best as that was the only thing that might take us back over here. This girl Nandini was helpful and cute girl. Thank you for your service again and i hope your manager reads this.

Hi there we completed a stay at your Kelowna property, and to say the least it didn’t live up to our views of sandman hotels. First room smelt like a grow up was in it then just the complete disrepair of the hotel in general was poor. Our second room you had to force the door closed to stay closed and latch. Wallpaper was peeling. Some gross dried substances were on the curtains. The room was cleanish but the walls were dusty. The staff was more than pleasant and helpful but other than that that’s the only good thing about this hotel. One of the rooms had the security latch but nothing on the actual door no holes nothing. You should feel safe in the hotel we didn’t. The sliding glass door to the pool in our friends rooms didn’t even lock. My daughter was accosted by a drunk woman of the night in the hallway. I don’t know if it’s common practice for the employees to bag up excess food and leave it outside for the homeless which creates more problems on the outside found needles outside etc. I don’t know what to say but I wouldn’t stay at that hotel again The biggest thing is it needs to be clean and safe other of which it was not. Would have given zero stars doesn’t give u the option. Have contacted hotel on social media and on email and no one responds I don’t know what kind of customer service that is but clearly they don’t care

We stayed for 2 night. Room was good. Washroom washbasin was full with water, but not draining. I call customer service. They said they will fix it in the morning. But nobody came to fix it in the morning. I am really dissatisfied with cleaning also. We stayed for 2 days and nobody came to clean our room. We wanted to break from our busy life but I had to clean my room by myself. They should also provide body soap. When They’re providing conditioner, shampoo and lotion. Just giving 2 stars because of julie who was so helpful when we checked in. Overall not good experience.

Not sure about the tower.
But main building is not the place to stay.
The odor, no elevator, hard to find rooms. Needs some renovation for sure.

We had an unexpected stay that turned out very nice. The entire experience was extremely pleasant. The front desk receptionist Dee was very welcoming. They have signs promoting social distancing throughout the hotel and require masks worn in public places. There was great care taken to ensure safety and cleanliness of both common areas and private rooms. Zoe was very helpful and took care of all our needs. The rooms have fridge, microwave and coffee maker. There is a restaurant on site and lots within walking distance. A shopping mall across the street.

Average but price is really high and definitely you can find good place on this price. They charged for toothpaste and toothbrush it’s sounds really weird for us. But one star for front desk lady.

I would have put zero stars but there was no option. We wanted to get a bag that was left in our room but they wouldn't let us unless we paid for another night

I had travelled to kelowna for an emergency trip because my grandfather wasn’t well. The front desk was super accommodating with my requests due to my nana not being able to walk far distances and made us feel super comfortable. Checkout was a breeze. I believe the front desk agents name was Kelsey? I was out there in December so I can’t remember if that’s correct but I hope it is. There was also a girl that was working the evening she was awesome to chat with. She also recommended a few places to my nana for us to eat. She works at a couple properties and I didn’t catch her name. Super friendly. But the staff deserves the 5 stars. Everyone was so sweet and very professional. Made us feel like we were at home during a stressful time.

It was very good with super quiet rooms and hallways. The large pool was warm water and the hot tub was hot.perfect for a busy day's end. This was our 2nd stay for the past 2 years, for our anniversary. We highly recommend staying here.

I'm indifferent to this place, dont know if this place is just older and worn out. My room has some damaged furniture, it is still operational, but crooked drawers and cupboards, cosmetically unattractive but still working.
The gym has a couple pieces of equipment that are damaged, making one of the ellipticals uncomfortable and unusable.
The front entrance very clean and tidy, staff are friendly and helpful. The pool courtyard is interesting but kind of makes you feel on display. Same with the rooms across from the gym, glad I didn't have one of those rooms.
I stayed at one in Maple Ridge, and enjoyed it, so wanted to return to another sandman.

Bugs and dirt in all lighting fixtures, gross! Mildew on bathroom ceiling and trim with water damage? Huge, gross spill on the kitchen ceiling. Thankfully we had a hockey team rate, because I can’t imagine paying over $200 for this mess. Stay away from room 590 in the tower.

Very nicely maintained lobby and very nice suites. We would happily stay here again and thoroughly enjoy the pool and hot tub again too!

Not the best experience. Getting from the front desk to our room (in the back tower) was like going through a maze. Our room was very standard, and in decent condition. The biggest complaint was how clogged our shower drain was. We were standing in two inches of water while we showered. We called the front desk to have it cleaned, but nothing was done about it. It takes about 8 minutes to get to downtown from here, which is good. It also does have an indoor pool, but it was pretty old. Also, the hot tub jets didn’t work.so you’re just sitting in a hot bath tub essentially. This is a place to sleep. Don’t expect much more than that from this hotel.

Had issues with the bathroom plumbing. First issue was addressed with the front desk but nothing was done and then late at night a second issue occurred. Also smell of weed lingered in the hallway outside our room.

Room was quiet, besides the dogs that barked incessantly beside us the first night. Room was secure. The bed was good, although disappointing to find a bunch of black hairs on the bathroom floor. Called and asked for fresh towels, coffee for the next day, but they didn't come. Had to call again in the morning for the towels. Never mentioned originally that we were in a wedding party, and told we could not get the discount when checking out because we had to speak with the booking management that wasn't there. For a bill that came to nearly 400$, I'd probably book somewhere else on our next trip, that cost a bit more to get better service.

Indoor pool, Dennys restaurant attached and accross from Kelowna's biggest mall! Nothing more to be said Sandman has it all.

I usually don’t write reviews for any place. But I am writing this for every family who is going to stay there in the future. I stayed with my family at Sandman and next day morning I saw my brand new SUV rear window smashed by someone and they stole from my vehicle. The motel was not responsible for anything and there was no camera or anything to figure out what happened actually. I had to travel back home around 300 km with a plastic piece on my car with my two kids. I heard that this is not the first time vandalism happened in there and they never takes any precautions to prevent this. So please careful if you decided to stay in this place.

We were very impressed with the sandman in in Kelowna and I was especially impressed with Dee the lady at the front counter she took such good care of us and it was a real pleasure to deal with her thank you

Staff friendly, good location. Thats about it. I have stayed in bargain motels, I have stayed in five star and everything in between. The room was trash. Holes in walls, dirt/mud? On walls, ceiling above the shower caving in, moulding falling off, window tint falling off, obvious water damage to the baseboards. The toilet ran nearly the whole time I was there. I could have gone in the tank and wiggled the flapper to try and remedy the problem but I try to not stick my hands in hotel toilets. Also the exhaust fan sounded Ike a chainsaw. If I was paying $100 a night for the room I could and would expect this. But at nearly double the price? Avoid. Will not be back.

They upgraded our room and it was amazing! The front staff very friendly. We left a swimsuit and the lady on the phone may have not had her coffee but the overall experience was great

Honestly, I was very disappointed.

I stayed in room 312, at the old building, and the door looked like previously someone tried to forcibly enter the room. It was disturbing to see that. We were in the second floor, no elevator.

The AC wasn’t cold enough at night, but manageable. The overall bathroom size was small and there was something wrong with the bathtub; it leaked every time someone showered.

I actually regret not staying in the Ramada instead (just next door) for $100 dollars less.

The only good things about the hotel was, the friendly front-desk reception host Dee, and the pool.

Rooms are average.
Had problems with TV not working.
Received absolutely fabulous lady who went above and beyond to correct the issue

I got an email response from Matt, he has been apologetic and I understand where he is coming from, sometimes when things are super busy it's pretty hard to get to everyone. I appreciate Matt for acknowledging my concern and taking care of me. Hence I have changed the review from a 1 star to a 3-star rating. I hope in my next stay I get to give them a 5-star rating. I would highly recommend everyone to give this place a try.

When I booked the very last room at the Sandman for my Birthday, the room was described as "Cozy.when I checked in, Tracy A.at the front desk checked us into an excellent room with a Kitchen Suite!

Hotel room was nice and clean, the room we originally were given had a broken air conditioner blowing hot air, I reported the problem to front desk right away, they were quick and prompt to deal with it, they confirmed it wasn't working and put me in a new room right away. The staff were very polite, quick and helpful. The atrium pool is great to have at the hotel for evening swims.

Clean room and comfy bed. However, the air conditioning in the room is loud as hell and it is not possible to stay in the room without it since windows could not be opened. It was not a pleasant sleep.

We had big expectations when we came here for our weekend but it was washed away with flooding water in the washroom and the Air conditioning not working properly. It was hot and humid due to the pools inside and units not working.
Upon asking the attendants they said they normally turn the AC UNITS off during the day. Makes me wonder WHY?
People with families, elder parents, young kids or people with medical conditions. It just makes it hard for anyone.
The price was above the other hotels for the nights. Although we were offered some discounts from the attendants but that doesn’t solve the problem.
Every wants to Enjoy their stay.the people passed but the ignorance and the facility failed.

Would be a last place to go.

I cannot thank Matt, and his staff enough! They really went above and beyond to help us out! Great staff, willing to help and the room was a million times better than Okanagan Seasons Resort! We are so thankful, you guys turned around our trip! Forever grateful! ️
