When we were evacuated from a wildfire in 2021, the Sandman Hotel in Vernon not only put us up for a week, but gave us a room that had a kitchenette. They did their utmost to shuffle things around so that we wouldn't have to change rooms while we were here. Having a fridge with a freezer made a huge difference to both us and displaced family members during that time; it will never be forgotten!

My kids had such fond memories of this hotel from that time, that they've always wanted to come back again, and so here we are (December 9,2023)! After I raved to the receptionist about how well they took care of us all during the fires, that SWEET young man upgraded us to a double room WITH A KITCHENETTE! I almost cried! My heart is so full. This hotel just rocks. Thanks so much you guys - we will be back again!

Called for a compassionate rate as a friend has her son in icu and not doing well. The woman said it’s our peak season and the system doesn’t generate a compassionate rate. Sorry the rate is $193.00 a night. Totally horrible that under a family emergency like this and alls they think about is the money.

We had a wonderful visit and everyone was so polite and helpful with everything. My son didn’t even want to leave and I would like to say a special thank you to tori at the front desk and char from house keeping as they made us feel very welcome:) the pool was also a big part of is staying out of the heat and still have lots to so with the little ones to burn off that summer energy before bedtime.

The place is nice and the service upon arrival was excellent. Chaitli greeted us with a smile and made sure we had everything we needed right off the bat.
This is my first time staying in Vernon and the place is very nice but parking it seems is very limited.

Beware! The underground parking of this hotel is not safe. Too many car break in accidents. Sad part is no video surveillance and no security.
Front desk said they have requested for a surveillance camera or put a gate into the underground parking but it seems like the owner of this facility is cheap to install one or corporate greed? Bottom dollar first before the safety of guest vehicles parked in their property?

While the room was nice and clean and the air conditioning worked well, this hotel has a few issues. Top of the list is that it has no elevator, so accessibility is a huge issue. Plus found a couple of big beetles, one of the exterior doors didn’t lock properly, and only one ice machine to serve the whole building.

Guest's with DOG's beware, they charge you a fee for each night of your stay despite the fact that they don't offer any cleaning service. It appears they are only trying to gouge the customer for fee's without any service, is this legal?
Our dog and I stayed 3 nights and they charged the pet fee for 4 nights as my husband was staying for business. I spoke to someone I believe was the manager and she confirmed there is "no service, just a fee". I've had many good experiences with the Sandman Hotel chain and have not been charged for more than a one night's pet fee at other locations when there is no cleaning.

We were not happy with the original room assigned to us. The wonderful young man at the receptionist desk found us a similar room that we could at least open our curtain without looking directly into the suite directly across from us. He was very professional and courteous. Thanks to him our stay for 6 days was a happy experience. He was run off his feet at the time but still made time for us. I think his name was Janhue.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Horrible service the staff was extremely rude, rooms were small and they gave use a one queen instead of two but refused to let us switch. The hallway were so busy and loud. No parking either. Would not stay at this, worst hotel experience.

The room was really nice, but the staff is amazing. I didn't have a hair dryer in our room, and we were going out for din. So the lady at the front desk delivered one to my room. And she was having a busy night ️

I needed a room with a kitchenette, and a crib for a baby, which I made very clear when booking the room.
When I arrived a few days later, the room was not ready for me and I had to hang out in the lobby with my children for over an hour, only to find out they did not have a crib at all at 9: 30 at night. The dishes in the kitchenette were dirty and I had to wash them myself. I did not realize that there is no elevator in the building, so maneuvering the stroller up and down stairs was nightmarish, even on the first floor as it is split leveled. The pool has been closed for weeks. Side note: watering down the dish soap doesn't make people use less, it makes them use more.
The only reason I am not giving one star is because I received very good customer service from both the gentleman at the front desk as well as Michelle the manager, who comped the room for our inconveniences.
The service itself is great, but the amenities are lacking, and the cleaning crew needs retraining. The building needs an overhaul.

I love to come here and I always get advance booking here. I always got best service and I always deal with Cassidy she’s awesome girl and if I have any problem she did sort out so quickly and she’s very positive and energetic girl.

My wife and I booked a room through Hotwire, which is owned and operated by Expedia, however when we go to see about our booking, we are told we need to pay for the damage deposit. We explained our lack of funding and stuff to the hotel clerk, but instead of waiving the damage deposit, even until the next day, while we wait for an etransfer of funds to go through. Instead, she goes on about how it's hotel policy. What's happening in the world today, when you can't go into your already paid room, and sleep, because someone whose not in your situation and clearly doesn't understand what your going through, denies you access without paying a deposit? The deposit could've been worked out in the morning with the manager. Clearly this world is built on greed, money and policies, rather than compassion and understanding for others.

Sadly my review is not good.
We arrived to check in, parking lot empty. 1st room overlooked roof top vents from restaurant attached, upon exiting to request for another room we noticed the bathroom was dirty. Anuj was great and found another room that was available. When we entered this room the bed had stains all over the comforter and bathroom was dirty. We asked for house keeping. We were given another room as no housekeeping was on. He mentioned the room was a pet friendly room while we were removing our luggage. As a person with extreme allergies to animals this could have ended bad. The hotel manager was polite but discourteous in his comments. When exiting/entering the hotel for the entire stay no staff displayed happiness or enjoyment. No good mornings or good evenings from front desk. The upside of the stay, the 3rd room was clean and comfortable, we also had a enjoyable private swim in the pool.

Our first room was very small. Requested a larger room, got a kitchenette room that was good size.unfortunately it was only available for 1 of our 4 nights. Told clerk that we were checking out the following day. Total original charge for 4 nights was $330, got charged $195 for 1 night. Kind of rip off, gladly pay it to get out of that place. Also very questionable cleanliness

Had a comfortable stay for the price I paid. Staff was professional and our room was very clean. Was worried after reading some of the reviews online but glad we didn’t experience anything like that. The General Manager was very understanding and offered us some Denny’s gift vouchers when we had to wait to check in for our rooms. Will definitely recommend this for a short trip!

Did not enjoy my stay there, AC was laboring and didn't work very well at all, I found that the staff were not geared or willing to go an extra step to help either, rooms are cleaned maybe once a week.covid I guess.not the best experience. Sandman standards seem to dropping across the province.

Ehhh, not the cleanest experience. Air conditioning did not work. I definitely added my portion of sweat to the matress.
While inspecting for bedbugs, found a giant reddish brown stain under the mattress at the corner of the bed. I'm pretending it is wine. The bath towel have stains. Overall the room I stayed in has been well travelled and in serious need of a facelift.

Our room was spacious, beds - very comfortable, and the kitchenette - well equipped. The only issue - super noisy AC units. Yet, the best of all was customer service. Abhi went way beyond our expectations in making sure we were satisfied and comfortable. Thank you, Abhi!

I booked a larger, upgraded room ("Corporate King Room"). Didn't like the hallway leading up to the room which required going up about 8 steps (room #123). It was a main floor room (surprising considering it was a "premium room"). But having to go up some stairs with no elevator option was very unusual. It was 40 degrees outside and we were thankful our air conditioning unit in the room was working. I heard from the front desk that some rooms had issues/complaints due to non-functioning A/C the night before. Including taxes, I paid $226.55 for a stay on July 2nd. It was "high season", otherwise I'm not sure the room would be worth that much. The underground parking was fairly limited. Outdoor parking seemed pretty full when I was there. There is some overflow parking along the street at the periphery of the hotel property. The bed was pretty comfortable. The mini-fridge, flat-screen TV were pretty standard fare. They provided some bottled drinking water (free) which was appreciated. Overall, I would give the stay a 4/5.

Beautiful clean rooms.staff isn't very helpful about anything. I had some very expensive tools and a winch in the back of my truck and was asking where my room faced and how safe the parking lot was. The last one nothing. Needless to say there were some extremely questionable creeps when I walked out from checking in.

It was alright I guess nothing spectacular nothing stood out just a normal hotel it was kind of dark not well it and there was no insulation whatsoever I could hear everybody upstairs in the hallway next door they really need to insulate their building much better

Sandman hotels are taking pride in their sanitation program. This is a photo of our Lysol wipe after wiping the windowsill. Think they must try harder on their program. Also no washrooms at the pool area one can only imagine how much urine is in the pool.

The location is convenient with access to almost everything. The room was not so bad, recently renovated (I think). I checked in to the 2 bedded room with kitchenette, The kitchen is a full one, but not a lot of pots and pans for cooking, not even a cutting board. I doubt how much they clean the room after someone checks out as I found a couple of used towels in one of the closets. The AC in our room was working just like a normal fan. No cooling at all. Since the room is facing the sun the whole day, it was so hot that we couldn't even sleep properly at night. When I brought that matter to the front desk, I understood that they already knew about it, and said they couldn't do anything to repair it. Rather her asked me to try different modes even knowing it is not going to work. Later he said that all the rooms with a kitchenette is being occupied and all they could do at that time to do a refund. I had to stay there for 2 days and during checkout, the lady (different person) at the front desk said she doesn't have any information about the problem that was placed or about the refund that was offered. She made some calls and asked me to contact the GM over email to follow-up with the refund. As per that, I tried to email the manager, but see no response from his side. I feel so bad as they haven't offered what I had paid for and not respecting the words given to the customers. I will not be staying in this one any more nor recommend this place.

Update. The manager got in touch with me and we were able to discuss the matter and settled. Thank you.

Pretty good here, but was shocked to find out that they only make the beds every other night if you stay more than 1 night! So not only are the sheets not changed, but they don't bother to make up the bed? ! I thought that's what you pay the big bucks for to stay in a hotel? ! Also, homeless people hang out there causing worry for your vehicle

Decidedly average. I would have left this review directly with the hotel but I was not asked how my stay was when I departed.
When I arrived they put me in a room with a horrible smell and plenty of cleanliness and maintenance issues. I emailed the Front Office manager to move my rooms but I did not hear from her and I had to initiate my room move at the front desk.
I don’t know why every Sandman hotel insist on having their pool be absolutely freezing. I guess not a huge deal, but what was a huge deal was the clumps of hair in the pool everyday.
When we moved to our new room (Studio with a kitchen) it was much better but the air conditioning was not up to the task to keep the Room cool on a hot day.
All employees we met were professional without being overly friendly.
I got a great rate to stay here which influenced my rating, had I paid anywhere near full price this would be 1 star.

Decent hotel in Vernon, easy access off main hwy. Limited parking however and impatient morning geezers trying to get into Denny's nearly ran over my 2 year old daughter! Room was clean, modern and comfortable. Hallways got messy, some guests must have spilled food, but it was cleaned by morning. Pool is just a rectangle, cold, nothing special, but front desk is doing good job with covid restrictions and keeping numbers low in pool space. Front desk was very helpful and professional. Denny's is a Denny's, nothing special, and definitely not my fave.

The room i was in had terrible bed bugs.comfortable beds and all but bed bugs seriously their all over me.i feel disgusting.shampoo and conditioner are so cheap.i would not recommend coming here unless you want bed bugs bites all over you. The guy at the front forgot to call us when he told us he would.are we not important.

We stayed here for 4 nights recently. The price was good and the location was convenient, but I don't think we would stay here again.
We found the kitchen difficult to use. It was well stocked, but if you want to do a lot of your own cooking, you might need to bring your own pots and pans. The ones they had were quite sticky and burned a lot of our food (even something simple like pancakes or bacon).
The beds were not very comfortable, with a distinct dip in them. The A/C unit is quite loud. The pool was nice, but very simple and crowded when we were there.
You share the suite space with some permanent residents too. It felt like we were getting some glares when we came and went to our room.
One positive - The man at the front desk was very helpful when the vending machine ate my son's loonies. He quickly replaced the money and turned a negative into a positive.

I stayed at this particular Sandman on the way back from a wine trip in the Okanogan.

Check-in was easy, the room was as we requested. My girlfriend has a mobility issue and we had requested something on the ground floor, and that is exactly what we got. Very nice. Everything was neat and tidy and freshly cleaned. Unlike the previous Sandman that we stayed in, the copy wasn’t expired.

The bed was comfortable, and the hotel itself was not noisy even though the ice machine was right outside our door. I was worried about that, but no issues.

When we arrived soon after I called and asked if there was a hair dryer as my girlfriend needed one the next morning, and it’s usually something that is in the room. The front desk manager said she could have one over to us in a couple of minutes and I said not to worry I would just stop off at the front desk coming back from dinner and pick it up. An hour and a half later I drop by and she had it ready.

The next morning, as we were checking out, she asked me how our stay was.that is the first time in probably almost a year that a hotel employee has asked me how my stay was. I don’t know why but that seems to be something that hotel staff just don’t bother asking you anymore. Something as simple as: how was your stay?
My stay was excellent! I would definitely come back here again

I am just blown away by the staff and management. They went over and above to address our mobility concern to find us a room in the main floor. I know they are fully booked and yet they managed to make it happen. She was very happy to find out we don't have to climb stairs due to her knee injury. Thank you very much for going above and beyond the call of duty. That's extraordinary customer service. We already know we're going to have a great time in Vernon.

Great service. Clean rooms. Super comfy beds. I always book at Sandmans as Denny's wont be to far away. Especially because I can have a drink or 2 with dinner and walk on up to my room.corporate king is worth the extra $ plus I got a dennys gift card for staying.

Was upgraded to a suite and probably one of the comfiest beds I have slept in. Staff was great convenient having a 24 hr Denny's right there. Also the hotel was quite even when it was pretty full.
My new Vernon place to stay.
