Sandy Point Beach Campground

It's got a really nice beach could use a few more trees but overall it's got all the hookups and it's got lots of space really sandy beach no rocks

Years ago it used to be a great campground and a lot of seasonal campers. Now it’s completely rundown and management care a less whether you were there or not. Septic system completely failed took them for years to even bother trying to fix it.

We have been coming for 10 years and it's the cleanest we have ever seen it.

Our family loves the big swim rope snd the new playground, the staff was very happy to help with anything. Our breaker blew we called the gate and the manager came down and fixed within seconds.

They have reopened the store with a few items u may had forgotten, candy store for the kids and packaged ice cream.visitor fee, 5.00 per adult 2.00 for Littles. At first I thought this was crazy, but after watching how much garbage gets removed daily and how amazing they keep the beach looking. It's a small price to pay.

We looked at the reviews and wanted to give a accurate review. So we looked into the cancelation fee and Googled other sites in the area, there cancelation fee and policy is very comparable.

We will be back every year if these managers keep doing what there doing. Good Job Guys.

Not much good to say about this place unfortunately, just generally disappointed overall with pricing and cleanliness of park and facilities. The roped off swimming area was full of power boats and so was what would have been a pretty nice beach

Great spot! We tented and sites are spacious and grassy. Trees are available but not all sites have full shade. Hornets are bad so bring a wasp trap! Beach was gorgeous and sandy and ice is available on site for $4.50 a bag. Only 5 minutes to town! Would recommend! Was a bit pricey though as we had to pay for extra people each day (excpected) but also for additional vehicles. It also costs $5/ person for anyone to come to visit your site for the day which is a bit pricey as it should be per vehicle. Was still a great spot though!

Had a great one night stay here at sandy point beach campground. The staff were so kind and helpful, they even let us switch our site last minute! Nice swimming area on the beautiful lake. Would definitely stay here again:)

Family has a seasonal spot for over 7 years now. Such a beautiful campground with lake access in campground. Definitely a gray vacation/ camping spot.

The facility was clean and beautiful. Staff were always out helping and super friendly. The only thing which is unavoidable this season was mosquitoes and bug off spray and fire helped it. Super safe too.

This place is that awful that we decided to leave before the night fall and we found an other place.it’s a giant rv parking lot, no fire pit, the playground is so old and ridiculously small… and the mosquitos are so incredibly numerous! Go away, we will feel better!

Clean sites and free clean showers. Quiet. Everything a traveller needs. Will stay every time I come by this way. Polite staff

Huge Camping Spot for RVs and Tents directly at the lake. Primarily commercial (e.g. At check in you get pizza delivery flyers, but no local hint’s for activities). Overall too dense, too loud (rules are not followed) and the focus is on seasonal campers, who behave like local kings. Water did not work properly in a partly hook-up site as well as booked spot at the lake side did not work out. Overall we regret it and would always prefer a Provincial Park Site in the future.

Called ahead of time to confirm a site was available, but on arrival we were told they had nothing available.

Angering at first, but after seeing it in person, we definitely did not miss out. This place was terrible! Dirty, loud and trashy.

There are much nicer, more organized and pleasant stays in the area, this place is not intended for drop-in travellers.

My fiancé and I had 3 nights booked but we only stayed 1 night. In fairness we should have looked into the campsite more. The photos online looked great however there was no picnic table or fire pit, not the best ground for tenting, seems more like a trailer park, most of the shore space is for boats, sand wasn't free of litter, and nearby traffic went through the night. I understand this review sounds prude, however if you like more private and well-kept sites in nature, maybe don't go here.

A friend reserved a site for us for 2 nights but due to smoky conditions during the time of planned camping we had to cancel the booking because we have children with us. They refused to refund or rebook the date. We understand that they have cancellation policy but hoping that if its a natural calamity like smoky/wildfire risk they would give us consideration but they didn’t.

This is a trailer park, make no mistake. The beach is fantastic, but 80% of it is beached boat parking. Having power (when it worked) and water at the site is great. But this is ugly camping. No life, foliage or love given to the place. And we found many people ignored the 11pm quiet time, keeping us up until 3am some nights. Again, go for the beach. But this has to be one of the most soulless and neglected sites we have ever seen.

Nice little place but little to no room for trailer and dumping station isn't the best. But the beach makes up for it. View from beach is amazing and the sand is really soft.

If they put money back into the camp it would be a great place the lack of picnic tables and shade makes it hard to enjoy and very gross dirty showers as well need a drain system for when your step out so your not in muddy puddles soon as you want to dry off not to mention the train blows the horn at all hours of the night. Unfortunately we had 3 sites booked for 3-4 days and after the 2nd night we all left by 930am which is great for the campsite but can definitely find a better place to spend your money on with a more enjoyable environment.

Very poor service.they offer lake side lots and good luck ever getting them.there for long term.the site they do have are garbage.will never stay there ever again

I used to come here as a kid and so the area has a lot of nostalgia for me. If I could change one thing, I wish the current owners would plant some more trees. This is the kind of place that makes memories for people, it just needs some love.

Really enjoyed this camping ground family friendly we make it this year going to be our third year that's how much we enjoy going to this Campground

We are currently here and the people running the place are clueless. The campsites are not clearly marked. We are paying for 20 amp power and can only use 15 amp power and the breaker keeps blowing. The noise tonight is incredibly loud. I'm sure we won't be getting much sleep tonight. Definitely disappointed and won't be back anytime soon. Which it too bad as we did really like this place.

Stayed here for three nights, and unlike some of the negative reviews, we didn't come across many of said problems. Campsite is right at the beach which is very beautiful and convenient, and even though there was an algae bloom, that isn't their fault. The women's bathroom is a little dated, but were always clean, except for some mud that people would bring in on their flip flops. There was enough hand soap and extra hand sanitizer bottles. Sites are smaller, but were clean and had enough space for camping in tents and parking your car. Our spot didn't have water or power, but if you bring a large battery pack you'll be fine, and there are water taps close to every site. We never had anything go missing as we would leave for several hours at a time to site see around the Shuswap, so the campsite is safe

Does anyone pick up the phone or respond to emails around here? I’ve only called 5 different occasions/emailed and facebooked. Not going to bother wasting anymore time. Good luck trying to book a site or find out any information on this place!

It’s not a attractive campground but does function well. Very limited amount of picnic tables and they are ready to fall apart. Bathrooms are clean. Staff are very polite and nice. Price per night changes based on who is running the booth. Beach is very nice to relax and swim at. Very boat friendly place. The people staying here are very respectful and Noise levels are kept to a minimum. The store is rarely open. I would return here again.

Nice place to camp but crowded. Bathrooms were crowded but fairly clean considering the amount of usage. A popular place to come in Salmon Arm. Many campers come year after year and have lease spaces with amenities. Unfortunately the beach was closed due to coliform in the water. Nice beaches and lots of Lake to recreate in. Small store with ice and snacks. Close to town - 7 miles.

Awesome campground right in the Lake. They have a decent sandy beach, convenience store, wood service (pay and they’ll drop it off for you), showers, and wash stations with warm water.

Very busy place. Beautiful beach. Couldn't go In the water due to ecoli. Very hot during the day and cools down at night so that was good. Too many speed bumps coming in.

The reason I gave this campground a 3 star review is because the sites were a little tight and no privacy. However the beach is very nice, the owners are very nice, accommodating and very knowledgeable.and it is a very family friendly campground with a lot of regulars that are very kind. I would return and recommend because to me the pros outweigh the cons. I hope this helps! 3.5 star!

Great beachfront campground. Seasonal and weekender spots available. Reasonable costs. Flexibility about on-site building. Wi-fi available at an additional cost. Friendly staff!

Disappointed would be an understatement. Because of the ecoli situation we were not able to swim or use the beach. We were told not to walk on the trails. We were given an uneven site in the middle of the campground were there were no trees. The sites are not big enough to accommodate the larger R. V.s There was no hand soap in the washrooms and they are in need of a good cleaning and updating.

I have been coming to Sandy point for years and have watched it's slow decline. With poorly cleaned bathrooms broken faucets over priced and simultaneously under stocked store the only benefit this campground has any longer is it's beach. With the current ecoli warming it's also worth noting the put up a notice on August 2nd well past the July 21 it had started to make news so quite a few people were swimming without knowing the danger. I wouldn't advise this beach to anyone looking for longer then a long weekend as it's facilities just don't hold up.

Stayed in a camping trailer in the tent spot. Nice and quiet, decent bathrooms and showers. Husband really liked the dishwashing station! There are trains that go by fairly frequently though.

Campground is crowded very close to each other. They have full hookups. They provide fire rings also. Washroom is outdated but important is clean. But the BEACH is awesome. Sandy white beach it is private beach and i like that there is no so much people unlike other beach. They don't allowed house boat on the area.

The campground is hilly and very uneven. Very poorly cared for imo. The septic system is not performing well and several sites overflowed while we were here. No privacy, basic parking lot camping. Without the amazing Beach this place sinks. Prepare for a few ankle twists on the uneven terrain. Overall we'd stay again on account of the beach, but that's about the only good thing we can say about it.

Spent one night camping here. The only good thing I can say was we had met nice people.the gentleman that showed us our site was pleasant to communicate with. The Showers were outdated and remindered me of high school with limited privacy. The toilets were backed up twice. You have to buy their firewood. Which is fence post and hard to burn. We asked for a site with power and water. We got charged for but shared the water and had no power.
The Shuswap is a section off and limited. Crowded when we went. More Trailer and RV camping not recommended for Tenting.
