Save-On-Foods

This is the third time I've been there buying coffee, their own house brand Western family, and had to pick through to find one that wasn't past the best before date. The first two times I told the staff, the second time asking for a manager and letting him know. This time I found what I was looking for, left a bunch of old ones on the floor and made my way to the till.

Don't attempt to use self checkout. They don't do maintance on the machines to make sure they are working and if they are not they don't display that they are not working correct. Staff didn't seem to care or bother to assist.

Nice store, good selection but cost more for same product than other stores. And it's location is nice within the mall.

Pretty Annoying and ignorant experience tonight at country club save on foods. Got an item that I guess must have been put back in the wrong spot by someone else, oh well point is MELISSA with glasses on self check out, who knows what her job really is standing there. Instead of calling for a check out to a grocery clerk or cart boy like any other normal human being would do but she made us stand there and wait as she called for someone to relieve her, then took her time walking to the freezer isle making us stand there even longer for no reason at all other then for being ignorant and having no proper costumer service. Because of this ignorant experience and lack of costumer satisfaction I’ll NEVER shop at that store again. That being said if it’s self check out why is someone being paid to stand there and and chat with other employees.

I like save on but i try to avoid this location, its so big and i can never find anything i'm looking for.there's also usually a long wait as half the self checkouts are down

The pharmacist provided the worst customer service possible. A simple questions answered back with a stupid question. Although I need medicine I will never get it from a Save on Foods ever again.

Always liked it when Eaton's had a $1.49 day so tried it out at Save, on. Was pleasantly surprised that a grocery store could have something for $1.49 today.

It's big, but feels cold for some reason. The Save on Foods at country club, I find to be warmer and more staff to help you if needed

I would like to give a HUGE SHOUT OUT TO MAX. Every time i go in to do my shopping he is always going above and beyond for us.ive been shopping at your location for the last 9 years and i have to say you have one hell of a worker. Thankyou Max for all you do. We Appreciate you

Good selection of goods and rarely sold out of the things I am looking for. This is a great location adjacent to other great stores for shopping, dining, tech, etc.

They have removed the express checkout and are trying to force people to use the self checkout I had 4 items but only a phone number no card as I do not enjoy carrying 20 loyalty cards. The self checkout will not take phone numbers forcing customers to lineup with the few cashiers avail. 10 minutes for 4 items. Bring back1 express line. Produce is not fresh and very expensive. Going downhill fast.

Excellent produce- nice and fresh/well taken care of. That is what I look for in a store. Very clean store. Lots of selection in Gluten Free and Dairy Free items as well. Great for when my daughter visits.

Not local. Support locally owned grocery stores that consistently have better prices and more locally produced food.

Friendly staff and such. But the hot meals are questionable. The handful of times I got something from the hot meals area has been horrible. Tonight the chicken was soggy and gross and the wedges I couldn't even eat as they were so hard.

Great location in a mall setting, plenty of free parking, friendly service, clean, had all usual necessities of a Safeway. Has self checkout lanes, very convenient.

I've had to rely on this store for delivery and each time there has been a problem to the point I no longer will use their services nor will I recommend them.
First order? Was overcharged and had to argue with them for several weeks, as well as filing complaints with head office (that never were addressed) to get my money back.
Following orders, the fruit was noticeable moldy (not sure how the shopper could have missed it) and had to be thrown out. It was not replaced by the store.
My most recent order arrived again with moldy fruit that had to be thrown out and to top it all off they overcharged me more than $30! It's been 8 days and I'm still trying to get reimbursed. And that was after speaking with a manager!
I have filed yet another complaint with head office and we'll see if anyone sorts this out anytime soon. I have better things to do with my time than waste it on incompetence. I'd recommend shopping at any other location but this one if you're hoping for delivery services.

Mostly good times but I just stood in line and watched the woman working the till have a relaxing conversation about every little item the woman in front of me was purchasing. While two other people passed me on the other till that I respectfully passed by, because she put her sign up that it was closed; but was calling people over anyway. I don’t expect much else from the teenagers purchasing but from workers there, not impressed.

I shopped here for years, not any more terrible customer service, last time I was there someone broke a huge jar of pickles in the store all my stuff smelled like pickles, they Pack people into their stores nobody social distance is there, I feel there will be a coronavirus incident there, rotten food two loaves of bread that were mouldy the apples I got were disgusting, Even the so-called fresh deli and pastries I got were disgusting,

The staff doing a good job and are doing there best to keep shelf's stocked during these times. But like all other places they have increased prices which shows me that they care about there profit not there customers. Don't buy from there bulk food as the products are now prepackaged and are stale and over priced. Will Save-On-Food reply to this post? Probably not.

I came in because i had to go to the only bank that was open in Nanaimo.
NEVER SHOPPING HERE AGAIN.just because things are hard right now doesnt mean you can be rude and be abusive to your customers.

They need to have more people working till during the after work rush, the last thing I want to do after work is wait in incredibly long lineups for my dinner because they only have 1 till open.

Great supermarket. Best laid out and visually appealing one on the Island. Prices are competitive, selection is great and the fact their self check outs accept cash is a real bonus.

Produce is usually old and often mouldy. Definitely not fresh. Meats are hit and miss. Especially if you get the shrink-wrapped stuff, so I avoid it. They sometimes have great deals on food though. It's close by to my house so I shop there out of convenience mostly. They had Tesco food there at great prices but replaced it with brand-name British imports, which is great but I enjoyed being able to get British food for less.

Way way too expensive. Never competitive unless it's in someone's flyer. If it's a regular priced item be prepared to pay way too much. One example coffee cream $2.29 there the same product at Walmart $1.57.same 1 ltr juice 2.49 saveon 1.67 Walmart. I regularly by 3 items that are exactly the same Walmart $10 save on $20. That's just 3 items at every day prices. I'm not a millionaire like you Jimmy. I could name 5 other competitors and the story is the same and NO they don't price match regular non flyer items!

I love Save On. Great variety.
Meat is always good.
I miss Western Family Blood Orange Greek Yogurt though.

Pretty good prices and selection. Excellent customer service and lots of locations. Would be nice if they had a location or south Nanaimo
