I have always been buying the 18.9 litre bottle waters (and had paid $10 deposit for each bottle) from this supermarket. Now I don’t need two bottles so I try to return one empty bottle for refund of $10 deposit, but Save On Foods refused to give the refund. They said I have to purchase a new full bottle and the $10 will be the new bottle deposit. I didn’t want to get a new bottle. Save-on Foods refused to refund me the $10 deposit. The staff only gave a coupon with no indication of money value - what I’m going to do with this coupon. Save On Foods cheated me of my $10 deposit. London Drugs give refund of the deposit when empty bottle returned. I’m very disappointed with Save On Foods. The one is given so I can write this review.

It may have good selection on certain food items, but definitely exploits the fact that they were the only semi reasonable grocery store on campus and the prices reflect that. I would recommend you go to Simons No Frills rather than this establishment.

Line up for both cashier and self-checkout is too long often. Wish they would have more cashiers open.

Save-on-foods is located conveniently close to campus so I used to go regularly, but recently I’ve been going to No Frills instead. Even with the longer commute, their prices are lower so it’s worth it if you have the time.

The advantage is definetely in the proximity to UBC, however it is not one of the largest outlets you will find.
This location carries everything required for the pantry, and getting the rewards card is the best way to unlock the Card Price rates, and rack up some points using CIBC cards.

Really nice area and architecture, but the store itself is usually understaffed and most of the time you will be waiting in line for several minutes if not more. I think they need to install some more checkout areas possibly!

Also it is a MUST to get their "More Rewards" card if you plan to come here often, it actually does save you money on most purchases.
